In martial arts, there are several areas where nerves converge on the human body.
Commonly known as the pressure point, inflicting damage on these spots could make the opponent vulnerable and experience a short-term shock from the impact.
A sudden side snaps on the head may even knock the opponent out since the shock forces the brain to hit the side of the skull, triggering an instant blackout on the spot. The main weak spot is the temple. Hitting this area between the eyebrows and ears could cause the opponent to lose balance.
The other way to do such results is by inflicting a direct strike at the jaws. Either sideways or vertically, making it possible to end the fight in a short time.
Moreover, with the skill to precisely strike at another pressure point on the body, like the joints on arms and legs, the attacker could freely manipulate the opponent’s body movement at his will during the fight and exploit their weaknesses.
Imagine what would happen if someone mastered those skills out of his muscle reflexes.
With deadly precision, the mobs have been taken out one by one, deflecting their attacks while finding the right time to land a hit on the right spot and manipulate the body accordingly to turn the unbalanced circumstances in his favor.
With that being said, fighting in a crowded place has its limitations.
Skullface takes a step back, a pair of mobs already approaching him head-on with their knives.
Synchronizing their movement to land a scratch despite their opponent being able to see every inch of their motion. Even so, those relentless sequences successfully cornered Skullface against the wall as he keep taking precautions with the surroundings.
A rough clicking noise slipped out from his mouth as those blades keep getting closer than ever.
In a single quick move, takes a leap against the wall next to him, bouncing back to deliver a kick midair straight for the mob’s neck, knocking him out instantly. As Skullface landed on one foot, he followed it with a spinning hook kick to send the other one to the ground hard.
Skullface stares him down, and slowly walks closer to the thug, helplessly crawling on his back.
“N-no! No! Please, spare- Ack!” Without a second thought, he heavily steps on his neck, not letting him make any futile struggle.
“Shut up.”
“Koff! Koff! B-but please… spare me- Koff!”
“I ain’t askin’ for yer request. Just answer this, your boss, is really on the other side of that door, yeah?”
“Ye-yeah! He was there!”
“And ain’t got time for any f*ckin’ trap layin’ around, yeah?”
“…”
“Come on, now… what’s with the sudden silence? Ain’t ya quite petty before?”
“N-no! I-It’s not like that!”
“Say…” Slowly he squatted next to the thug, harshly grabbing his head, “Say it as if your life depends on it.”
“I-I don’t know! I don’t know what lies behind the door! The boss might have escaped as well and left all of us here!”
“So now yer tellin’ there’s no one, huh?”
“Th-that’s not it! I just really dunno what’s inside that room!”
“Stay where you are.” A long sigh comes out of his mouth hearing the answer, “I ain’t gonna forgive yer sorry ass if this a goddamn trap.”
Leaving the obedient thug behind, Skullface stands back on his feet. Calmly takes a step towards the door in front of him while checking his surroundings. There’s nothing but useless metal scrap and junk scattered around. Despite being worthless, somehow he still takes some of it along with him.
Nothing odd really, I guess it’s okay, then…
Both hands reach for the handle of the double metal door and twist it down before slowly opening it wide.
What lies beyond his eyes, is a vast room shrouded in the complete darkness of the night, with the only glimmering source of light from the warehouse which illuminates some parts of the trucks lined up inside.
“Hmph!”
At the end of the glimmering ray of light, something attracted his attention.
As he squinted both eyes, the silhouette of a person sitting on the ground with both arms tied behind the back is what caught his vision the most in the pitch-black room.
Until he stopped midway upon noticing something.
“Hmm!”
“Why… there’s a girl here…?”
He tilts his head out of curiosity and confusion the moment he realized that the girl’s mouth is gagged up with duct tape, trying to say something. She keeps insisting on doing so with her widened eyes. Blinking rapidly
“Hmph! Hmph!!”
“You’re noisy…”
CLANK!
“Gah!”
The loud sound reverbing. The blood dripping. The consciousness fading.
Amidst the darkness, out of nowhere, a sudden attack hit right at his head. He can still feel how hard the metal bat was. Everything seems to be blurry as he desperately tries to keep on his feet. No matter how hard he tried, it was a perfect hit at the critical spot.
Slowly rendering him immobilized whilst his vision caught the silhouette of people surrounding him.
Dammit, they got me!
Snap!
The sound of finger snap echoed in the dark.
Suddenly a shining blade thrust straight toward him. Out of reflex, Skullface impulsively grabs the wrist of the attacker and twists his hand inwards, hitting the twisted elbow’s joint the other way. Putting the attacker in agony with the loud bone-cracking noise.
He followed it up with a strong punch in the core, forcing the thug to bow down. Then ending the sequence by pulling the extended leg high above his head downwards with full force, sending an axe kick at the thug’s nape.
Thud.
For a second, Skullface almost collapsed in such a dire situation.
With a body that hasn’t fully recovered, seeing numerous people approaching at the same time spells nothing but complete disadvantages for him. Especially, amongst them, is a somewhat familiar person.
The tall guy in the back… Not sure if I’ve seen him…
But one thing is for sure….
...He is bad news!
As those thoughts cross his mind, Volk smirks at him. As if challenging him right here and now, ignoring the condition they’re in.
Shit!
So that’s how it is…!
Knowing that he doesn’t have a good chance to survive in this condition, nor might not even be able to take them all at once, Skullface lets out a long sigh behind his mask.
The helpless girl behind. The agonizing pain. The siege aching his mind.
What choice does he have, except to drag himself out of this situation?
But how?
Racking his brain too long, and those thugs charged straight toward him.
Right before their attack hits, Skullface closes their distance instead. Deflecting an attack and grabbing one of their men. Hugging the person tightly while charging forward against the wave of mobs in front. Using the poor man as a sacrificial human shield amidst the barrage of attacks.
“Open the f*cking sesame!”
Using all he got, Skullface shoves them away altogether. While they awkwardly stumbled on top of one another, he swiftly disappeared into the total darkness around them.
“He’s running away!”
“Tsk! Don’t let him get away! Search the entire building if needed!” Shouted the stocky figured boss.
“But what if he has escaped?”
“It can’t be. This place has been in full lockdown since the guys outside dealt with him. There’s no way out except that shitty warehouse.”
“Should we turn on the lights to find him, boss?”
“Are you f*cking dumbass!” Snarled the boss hitting his subordinate on the head, “Why the hell did you think we keep our ass here out of the entire building in the first place? It’s the only way to deal with him, ain’t it?”
“Let him be.” The moment Volk said it, their gaze was immediately directed at him. Especially the boss with unmeasurable frustration.
“What the hell is wrong with you?! Are you out of your damn mind to let loose the intruder? Do you have any idea how stressful it is to manage this many useless bast-”
“Then get off your f*cking high horse, you damn a*shole!” Volk snapped back, instantly humbling him down. “You ain’t listening to your subordinate, nor give a thought about it! And now you’re panicking cuz’ of your decision?”
“T-That’s not-“
Slap!
“Get your shit together.”
Even though it was a weak slap from Volk, it was more than enough to almost make the boss lose his foothold.
“Mark my words. I’m not here for your money by doing this kind of virtue. However, with that being said, …It doesn’t mean that I won’t kill you.”
Although Volk has walked away, everyone who witnessed their conversation can still feel his cold presence lingering. He thought this is going to be another boring night shift, hired by another businessman. But who would’ve thought he ran into an outlaw on par with him?
Into the shadows, he goes. To the darkness, he throws his gaze. As the adrenaline rises, a smirk is carved on his face.
Come Skullface... Let us test your limit!
