'A qi master, huh...' Kaiden was thinking about his brother. After the doctor told them the results, Edward immediately hit the bed. Kaiden was currently exercising in his private training room. He was performing a set of moves with a colossal sword. Even though he was just exercising, each of his moves looked as weighty as a crushing boulder.
He was relieved by the news.
'He might have some flaws, but he is still my brother.' There were only about 5 years until the next Trial, so he was glad for Edward's early Awakening.
'That way, he will have more time to train. And his Job is decent too.' The qi master Job was falling under the Red color, which was usual in the Griffin family. It was also one of the high-end Jobs.
'There isn't much time before the beginning of a new term in the Academy, however, it would be good if he can take some extra classes before going there... Finding a tutor might be a bit of a problem though. This Job, and Jobs that are akin to qi master, are rare in the central continent. But... we have some people from the East Aetar in our guild. I bet we can find someone fit for the task.' He needed to check after his training session was over. He continued his exercise.

Edward opened his eyes. 'There is quite the difference.' he thought.
His sensitivity to mana was much better compared to before. Before he slept, he was tired and his mind was occupied with comparing the two worlds he has been in, so he didn't notice it. But now, he could clearly feel it.
When he looked outside of his window, he could see the red tint over the darkening sky, telling him that it wasn't long after the sunset. He get up and wore a dark grey short robe and light grey trousers. Not unlike what his brother was wearing, this robe too had the mark of the Griffins over his left chest. Their mark consisted of many simple lines with slight curves, and sometimes with a corner too, which collectively illustrated the shape of a rearing-up griffin with wide open wings. He tied his hair in a half ponytail, then left the room. The servant waiting outside the room called for him:
"You are expected for the dinner. It will be ready in about 20 minutes." Edward simply nodded, then headed towards the clearance near the garden. It was a circular area, which was used when someone from the family wanted to have a small gathering in an open space. The pavement of it consisted of pale pink rhombus-shaped flagstones with white filler material, just like the roads in the garden. It was currently empty.
He stood near the middle and started to practice his control over ambient mana. Just like his sensitivity, his control was much better than before.
'My level of control already surpassed where I reached in my previous life. Right now, I can beat my past self as long as he is not using his Trait.' The difference was not in the raw power output, but in the way he controlled the mana. While in the past it was like throwing a rock from one bucket to another, now he was pouring pebbles between the buckets with his mind.
He took up a stance and threw a punch enchanted with mana.
As he expected, it was only slightly more powerful than before. However, the strain he felt was a lot lower. He could now almost casually use these fully powered punches whereas in the past it was more of a limited special move he had to carefully consider before using.
He could already feel his improvement even before he could benefit from the internal mana or his Job.
He practiced for a while. Hand-to-hand combat was what he preferred in his education, so he didn't need any weapons for practice.
'That preference was probably something that echoed from my past life.' In that past, he mostly fought with his body and a handgun. He wondered whether he could find something that functioned similarly or not.
As he was starting to be immersed in the training, Edward didn't notice his brother's approach until he spoke:
"I see that you shook off your weariness." He carried an approving expression. "There isn't much time left, so we should head in."
They entered the mansion, walked through hallways adorned with various artwork, and reached the dining hall. They found the family doctor sitting at the table. They too walked to their places and settled in their chairs. Soon, their father entered the room and took his place at the head of the table.
While the servants were serving the dinner, Edward was thinking about his father from the previous world. He wondered if he will ever be able to see him again. 'I never heard about the existence of the other worlds here, but I still need to keep my eyes open for any info.' Dying and hoping for reincarnation was not an option. Even if he assumed a guaranteed reincarnation, he couldn't accept a one-way ticket because he could call this new life his own without any hesitation. He went through his childhood and his teenage years without having his old memories after all, and he genuinely regarded his new brother and father as family.
His father broke the silence over the long dining table:
"Congratulations on your Awakening. How are you feeling?"
"Much better, father. I can already feel quite the difference with my control over the ambient mana."
"Good." His father nodded. The body would go through some pain for a while, usually about a week, before the Awakenings. When Edward's aches started, his father was aware that it was likely to be the indicator of Edward's second Awakening since the first one was early too, but he still carried some concerns. Of course, he trusted the family doctor who would take good care of Edward if something went wrong but even though it was rare, there were still some people who died during their Awakening. Now that Edward's Awakening was done, he could truly feel at ease. He turned towards the doctor:
"Could you tell us about the detailed results of the tests then?"
