Maybe I should've brought my gun with me. Hindsight's 20/20. I didn't anticipate a second attack only hours after the first. Though, I didn't expect the prince to join me in the first place.
"You fucked up our plans once; I won't let you do it again." the attacker says, holding out his knife.
If it's a knife, I probably won't need a weapon. I know how to handle a knife fight easily. My only concern is that this douchebag isn't alone. I have Prince Jay hiding nearby; if I let my guard down, he could get hurt.
"Are You going just to flap your lips, or are you going to do something? I've got shit to deal with, so fuck off." I say, taking a step closer to the man.
He is about equal in height, but he is much larger than I am. It will slow him down. I can most certainly beat him with agility and speed but not strength.
"Grrr, you bitch. It's your fault Randy's in jail. Die!!" The man lunges at me at what feels like half-speed.
I dodge him easily. He clearly doesn't have any experience with up close and personal combat either. Then he whips around and lunges again. This time, I dodge, only to put his arm at my side and grab it. I bring my knee up and knock the knife out of his hand.
"Uhh, let go!" The man yells and thrashes around.
I grip tighter, twist his arm around his back, and knee him in the side. He drops to his knees, and I elbow his neck, rendering him unconscious.
These men that keep coming to fuck with the prince suck ass. It's like going back to using training wheels after being a pro cyclist. It's laughable.
"Hey, you can come out now," I yell back towards the dumpster where the prince is hiding.
-silence-
"Dude, come on. You said you'd help with my phone." I say as I stomp over to the dumpster.
I peek around the dumpster and see nothing. WHAT THE FUCK!?! Where did he go? Is he such a coward that he ran? No, that doesn't make sense. UGH! Don't tell me he got himself caught. I walk farther back, checking every door to see if they are unlocked. I get to the end, and there is another alley connecting to this one. I follow it back to the main road. Shit, where did he go? I spot a police officer walking towards his car. It's the same one from earlier. That's convenient. I explain what happened and bring him to the unconscious man.
"You haven't seen Prince Jay, have you? I hid him when we were attacked, but when I went to get him, he was gone." I say, rubbing my neck.
I'm anxious. I have a bad feeling about all this. The officer shakes his head and gets back to handcuffing the attacker. The officer left, and I went back to the cafe in hopes the prince hid out there. Of course, when I got there, the cafe was closed. GAAAHHH!! This is so frustrating. I really should be getting paid for this shit. I went to check the phone store we were headed to, but they were closed, too. Damn, times like these, I miss when payphones were popular. Not that I know anyone to call. I circle the block, looking for any sign of him. I mean, come on, he is the prince of this country. Someone should have seen him. I go another block over and notice a couple staring at the side of a building.
"What's going on?" Ask as I walk up behind him.
I see a man chasing another man up a fire escape. Fuck me! That's the prince. I push the couple out of the way and sprint up the fire escape. Luckily, I was fast enough to make it to the roof right after they did. The man has the prince cornered. This is just like any action movie ever. So cliche. I bet the man is running his mouth about this revenge scheme. I sneak up behind the man slowly.
As I get closer, I can hear him say, "Your brother says he wants to see you again, your highness. Too bad I don't work for him. My boss wants you dead."
The man pulls out a pistol and points it at Jay. I glance over at Jay and am shocked that he is crying. What is going on? Why did he start crying? Jay slowly starts replacing his tears with a very menacing smile. Woah, creepy. Apparently, I wasn't the only one who was creeped out; the man staggered backward.
"Are you just gonna sit there, bodyguard?." Prince Jay says while winking at me.
I smile back at him in reply. Before the man can catch on, I jump up and, put the man in a chokehold and wrestle him to the ground, knocking the gun free. Jay runs over and grabs the gun. I let go of the man once he passed out.
"Whew, I really should be getting paid for this," I say while sprawling out on the roof.
"Yes, you should; how would you like to be my bodyguard?" Jay says while holding his hand out.
I grab it and pull myself up.
"Are you sure you can afford me?" I chuckle.
Jay pats the dirt off my back and says, "Without a doubt. So then, you're hired."
