While struggling through my medical degree, I took up a job at a local senior home. However, the soulless stares and lingering smell of decay ate away at me and I quit before the end of my contract. 

Honestly, the job was not all bad. One of my favourite tasks was visiting madame Nightingale; a solitary resident seemingly forgotten by the rest of the staff.

One day, I jokingly asked her if the place was haunted. 

She'd responded: "It'd hardly be surprising if it were, deary. Where'd you think ghosts come from?'

When I returned the next day, she'd vanished.
