Charon's Sailor Moon OC ferrycat persona is the result of some misunderstandings from nir childhood. An origin story which in turn is partly based on how my parent explained to me that "Sailor Moon" means "Sea-Man Moon" due to that being the literal translation of the English words.
So I imagine a very young Charon being told the same and be impressed with the very genderqueer concept of such a feminine superhero also being a Man of the Sea. Misunderstanding or not, it really resonated with the confused agender child that became Charon.
