Let There Be Light

I died, but I'm fine

I died, but I'm fine

Feb 10, 2023

Gael woke up jumping out of his bed, the feeling was as if he had spent several minutes underwater and when he was drowning someone emerged from him.

He opened his eyes and noticed that he was in his room, he couldn't quite process what had happened and the only thing he could think about was the tear that being had made in his stomach, the boy's first reaction was to get up and take his t-shirt to see the mark, some scar or something and when he looked at her abdomen, there was nothing there.

It scared him, scared him so much that he couldn't even see what really was the highlight in his body when he woke up, but with the adrenaline going down and his mind understanding that he was alive, Gael touched his abdomen and realized that his body was different, it wasn't like he was stronger, but that his muscles were firmer.

He touched his abdomen, in the region of his chest, but when he went to touch his arm he noticed a mark, which certainly wasn't there before, he had a tattoo of a lion on his left forearm.

If that zombie, by some miracle, had not killed him, surely, his grandfather would do a favor for that being, how could he appear with a tattoo being only 16 years old? How would he explain this to his grandfather? And worse, how could this have arisen?

Gael analyzed the tattoo and said to himself:

– It looks like Escanor's mark in Nanatsu no Taizai, but unlike him which is on his back, mine is on his left arm.

The kid got back into a T-shirt as quickly as possible, because if his grandfather came in and saw his grandson with a tattoo, he would skin it right off his arm.

Gael took his cell phone and saw that he had some messages from his friends, looked at the time and realized that it was 2 pm on the same day and that his grandfather had not yet arrived, but after all, who had brought him home?

He remembered that he had called the police to ask for help to the fainted boy who was on the ground, he also remembered when he got up his eyes were as if they were Naruto's byakugan and how he had taken a sword out of nowhere and pierced his abdomen.

Gael then took his cell phone and sent some messages to his friends so that they could go to his house, as much as they thought the story was crazy, at least he could put that feeling he had in the morning of that day out.

Gael's room was a very simple room, as he was the only child of Mr. Silva, had some perks like manga, a video game, not the latest generation, but it did, a small television, a notebook that was for school work, but recently it only served to mirror the image on the TV of the episodes of the anime that I was watching.

There was a bed, a wardrobe and a shelf full of books and manga that the boy bought with the money his grandfather gave him once a month, in the room there were 3 very faded computer chairs that Gael and his friends sat on chatting, playing video games, watching series among other things, the chairs that were once black, today they were almost arriving in a dark gray.

The two agreed to go to Gael's house and the boy opened his cell phone to access the news portal in his city to see if there was any information, anything about what had happened and he found nothing, there was no fact about what happened of this morning.

As Luis Felippe lived on the same street and Daniella lived on the street above Gael's house, in 5 minutes, they arrived wanting to know the excuse that the boy would give for having missed class, they entered, went to the boy's room, he locked the door and told them everything.

Luis and Daniella looked at him with a look on their faces that nothing he was saying was true, as if all that was a figment of the boy's head.

Daniella, the most down-to-earth of the group, asked Gael the obvious:

"Are you sure this wasn't a dream?" Or something like that?

– Did you hit your head while sleeping? Woke up on the floor or something? What happened to Gael? Out of time? – Luis amended the questions that Daniella had started.

Daniella was a girl at the base of 16 years old too, brunette in her skin, her hair was a very dark brown, her curls reached her shoulder and her eyes were a green very similar to Gael's, her height was short compared those of the boys, but she didn't consider herself small for spending so much time with them.

Luis Felippe, on the other hand, was a blond boy with blue eyes, he was also around 16 years old, due to his military father being extremely rigid in his behavior, his hair was always impeccable, being shaved with the machine 1 on the side and with a cut to the side right at the top, even having a father like that, Luis and him got along very well and Gael's friend respected the way he was raised.

- No, I'm serious, look here for you to see - Gael lifted the left sleeve of his most popular T-shirt.

ing the symbol on his arm – See? I'm not lying.

– Are you kidding Gael? – Said Luis indignant with what he was seeing – You skipped class to get an Escanor tattoo on your arm and didn't even say anything to your friend, did you know about something like that, Dani?

- Don't even put me in the middle of this roll, I'm getting to know this nonsense now as you are - Said the girl stating that she didn't know anything as much as Luis.

– I'm serious guys, I was crossing the street and a transformer exploded and at the foot of the pole there was this guy's body, but no one could see him, I have no idea why, but that's what happened – Gael he already expected his friends not to understand what had happened to him, he didn't even know exactly what had happened, there was no way to demand rationality from it.

– And then the dead man got up from the ground and stuck a sword in your stomach and you're here talking to us, you got a tattoo and how do you want us to believe in you? – Asked Luis with a completely incredulous face about the facts narrated by Gael.

- No, I didn't expect you to believe me, after all, even I myself believe that this is complete madness - Gael stated giving his justification.

- So why did you call us if you knew it would sound crazy to us? – Asked Daniella confused about Gael's last statement.

– I just wanted to confirm if this had been a dream or something in my head, but it really happened, when I started saying things to you, I felt as if this was true – Gael got up from the chair that was stating what had happened sense – I can't explain what I felt, but I know I lived it, it was real, the feeling of a blade entering my abdomen, the feeling of dying, it was all real.

– You really don’t seem to be lying or playing with us – Daniella said that looking at the boy’s reaction and looking at her friend’s face she realized that something was missing that Gael couldn’t live without – I know, I had an idea – A girl went to the bookshelf and picked up a manga and pointed to a letter that was on the cover and asked – What letter is that?

– J – Gael replied – And it says Jujutsu Kaisen on the cover.

Both Daniella and Luis realized that there really was something wrong with Gael, he had just answered from that distance what the lyrics were, even without glasses which he only took off to sleep and shower, without them the boy was almost blind.

– Have you noticed that you are without glasses, Gael? - Asked Luis about the great doubt that hung over the room.

Silva put his hand to his face and took another blow, the third that afternoon:

– You are right! – He stated with a certain tone of excitement in his voice – I read without wearing glasses for the first time in my life.

Now things started to become tangible for the first time for his friends, Gael could tell the truth and they would have to live with that new process of information, but there wouldn't be much time to think about it, at least not now.

When Gael said those words, an extremely loud noise happened inside the room, each one looked around the room to try to understand what was happening and they began to find that whole circumstance strange, but the most bizarre thing was what was sprouting from the feet of Gael.

It was a dark mass, something kind of pasty that was sprouting from the floor right where Gael was, there was no more time to do anything, when the boy extended his hand to Luis, he was dragged into the black puddle that had formed inside the room , even though it looked shallow, had sunk the boy who was over 1.70 tall.

– GAEL!!! - Luis shouted without understanding anything that was happening.

Even without understanding, Luis and Daniella saw Gael fall towards the unknown.

Gael is an ordinary kid, just like you reading this synopsis, or at least he was until one fateful day. Because waking up late for school, like any other day, our young otaku ended up finding something that changed his life forever.
Even if, amid a crowd of people, Gael was the only one who saw a body lying at the foot of a pole in his neighborhood, but what happened next will change his future forever.
The beauty of this novel is that all battle results will be decided on the dice, in the same RPG system, so not even the author knows the fate of his characters. If you love stories like Bleach, One Piece and some other anime and manga, Let There Be Light, will be your weekly novel!
