Terrance
“Why are there so many rooms?” Nova asks, coming down the stairs. “They don’t have small houses here, I guess? Unless we wanted an apartment. But they only have one bedroom apartments.” Cole shuts the door and walks into the living room. “The guys here are so much hotter than back at home,” Cole mumbles and Nova laughs.
“Seriously?” Terrance stares at her. “What? They are! When do we start school?” He pauses and says, “Monday next week. But… I don’t care how “hot” these boys are, no boyfriends please I’m not ready for that…” Cole rolls her eyes.
Terrance sighs and looks back at his phone. “Is anyone else’s phone acting weird?” He asks confusedly and they both nod. “Why don’t you go unpack? I’ll get something to eat?” They both nod and walk away.
“You know I’m kinda disappointed I haven’t seen any vampires or anything?” Cole says, walking away and he chuckles.
Do they seriously still believe that?
I wait until the sound of footsteps grows faint before pulling a stack of flyers out of my bag. Each one Identical with the words have you seen me in bright colors plastered on the top with a photo underneath it. I smile slightly, staring at the chubby brown-skin woman for a moment before exiting the house.
“Hi! Have you seen this woman?” I ask, smiling, and the man shakes his head. I look around and begin to ask anyone who passes.
"Sorry I haven't seen her"
"Sorry"
"No I haven't seen her"
“No? Sorry I haven't… I’ll take a flier though” A lady says smiling. I hand her one quickly before walking into the diner.
“Another customer.” She points and a waiter walks over to me. “Hi. We’re having some mechanical issues inside and are only using the outside portion of this diner.” I nod slightly confused following her outside.
“What do you want to eat today?” She smiles, pulling a notepad and pen off her hip.
“I didn’t see a menu or anything…” I say looking around and she chuckles faintly. “You're not from around here are you?” She asks, still smiling. It’s that obvious huh…
“Okay… You tell me what you want to eat and we’ll make it. We don’t serve anything grilled or seafood on weekdays. But anything else we’ll make you.” She smiles again.
“Uhm… Then do you make breakfast platters?” I ask hesitantly and she nods. “Okay… Three then. All of them scrambled eggs and potato wedges…” He thinks for a moment. “Do you want fried salmon? Or shrimp with it?” She asks and I pause, “Oh? Shrimp in one… Fish in two… And pancakes.” She nods and asks, “Any bacon?” I shake my head and she smiles and walks away.
“Hi, have you seen this woman?” I ask another man passing by. He shakes his head not even giving the paper a glance. "Hi have y-” I start again and before the woman in front of me walks away.
I look around for a moment before noticing a woman with thick curly hair, facing the opposite direction.
I lightly tap her and look at him surprised. “H-hi?” I start.
That is... Definitely not a woman.
“Hi…” Orpheus says, confused.
