“Last night was different. The lights were off and we were under the covers. I’m not really comfortable with my body,” I fiddled with the sleeves of the large robe. “I’m sorry,” I whispered. Theo pulled me in for a hug, “It’s cool Mel. I was mostly joking. It does make me sad you’re not comfortable with me yet, but it's no big deal.” 

As he kissed the crown of my head, the pain in my stomach grew. “W-well. I can tr-try,” I stuttered. Theo rubbed circles on my back still holding me close. “Mm. What if we hit the lights, I light a few candles, and we lay in the tub? I’ll fill it up with bubbles and start the jets. You unfortunately won’t be able to see this chiseled body, but you’ll be more comfortable?”

Whispering into his chest I replied, “That actually sounds really nice. Can you start the tub and I get in first?” Theo pulled me away and started for the tub, “Of course. In the closet on the left I should have some bath stuff Malaki got me the past few birthdays. Choose whichever scent you like.”

Opening the closet I was floored. I expected a normal, tiny bathroom closet. But in actuality the door led to a walk in closet. While I absolutely love my apartment, I was a fool to not listen to Chels. This place was amazing. “Not feeling any of the sets?” I jumped at Theo’s voice. 

“No. I mean, yes. Your closet is huge oh my god. I don’t even think I have enough clothes to fill it up!” I grabbed the bath set with a lavender field painted on the label and exited the closet trailing behind a snickering Theo. “I don’t think anyone owns that much clothing besides Malaki and maybe Rayyan.”

Theo programmed the tub and went searching for some candles. I slipped off the massive robe and returned it to its hook. Dipping a toe, I tested the water. Satisfied, I slumped down into the massive tub. The built-in seat was the perfect height, having the water hit right at my chin. I laid my head back and closed my eyes. 

Theo came back triumphant with his successful hunt. Opening his hands he revealed two ‘Happy Birthday” candles, one of which was half melted, and a large three-wick candle I’m guessing was given to him by Malaki as well. 

I clapped enthusiastically as he lit the last candle and placed it on the side of the tub. He slipped in the tub and made his way to my side of the tub before retreating back to his side. He flashed me an apologetic smile and the pain in my stomach returned. Crouching, I slowly wadded over to him and was stopped as the pain intensified in my abdomen. I grabbed my stomach and stood hunched over in front of him. 

Holy shit. My period. He reached out for me and I yelled, embarrassed, “THEO GET OUT!” He looked concerned and confused but quickly exited the bathroom. I didn’t mean to yell, I just panicked. I drained the tub and instead opted for a quick, but warm shower. 

I heard a light rapping at the door as I finished putting my pajamas on. Theo had chosen a one piece with peaches all over. On the butt, ‘Squeeze Me’ was printed in black swirly letters. I shuffled out of the bathroom gripping my sides. Of course I forgot to restock my midol. At least I didn’t forget the pads. 

Theo sat on his bed covered in his robe. I didn’t even notice he had grabbed it before leaving. “Theo, I didn’t mean to yell. I-I got my period and I didn’t want to gross you out and panicked,” I mumbled to his back. Turning slowly he replied, “Mel, it's cool. Did you need me to grab you anything? There is a store next door. I could run out quickly.”

“Thank you, but I’m okay. I’ll take some painkillers if you have any,” I stated as I sat next to him on his bed. “I think I have some Advil PM. Hold on,” Theo grabbed some from his nightstand and left to answer the door. 

He returned with the food as I laid curled up in pain on his bed. How could I not have checked the app? I was always on top of my cycle.”I brought back some goodies,” he passed me my food and the bottle of pills. I guzzled the pills down with a bottle of water and we ate in silence. I started to become drowsy before even making it half way through my food. 

Theo must have noticed as well, because he took my containers away and placed them on his nightstand. He pulled me into a cuddle and kissed my forehead. I was starting to really love his forehead kisses. I placed my hand on his chest and blissfully drifted to sleep in his arms.
