Akiya walked into his room, which he was sharing with Sakamo. He was sleeping on the bed, looking like he got killed, with one hand reaching the floor and his light-brown hair covering his face. Well, if he wanted to wake Sakamo up... No, Sakamo wouldn't wake up. Takagi Sakamo was the kind of person, who could be taken outside in his bed and he wouldn't even notice it.
Sakamo was a young vampire. Satoru turned him into a vampire a few years ago. He was a conqueror, when he was still alive. He didn't want to talk with his old friends, though. He was afraid of getting rejected.
Akiya wrapped Sakamo with a quilt and remembered what Takagi has been always complaining about. Not having dreams. Vampires don't dream. Never.
Akiya remembered times, when he could dream. When he had a younger brother and parents. And a sister-in-law, who was a conqueror. She knew that he was a vampire. She swore that she wouldn't tell anyone. But she told Kaede, who sneaked into Akiya's room with a stake in his hand. However vampires hear everything while they sleep, so Akiya quickly woke up. Then he had to explain to Kaede for two hours that not all vampires were bad and that he would definitely not kill any of them, even if he had to pay for it with his own life, if you could call it that.
But the same vampire, who killed and turned Akiya into one of them, attacked Kaede and Sayuri. And Sayuri, who was often called the most powerful conqueror ever, couldn't protect herself. Four children were orphaned that day. When Akiya's parents died, he took care of his nieces and nephews, even if he couldn't give them everything they needed.
When Sayu, the oldest girl, got married and could take care of her younger siblings, he said "goodbye" to them and ran away, because he was afraid that one day he would hurt them.
Nakamura Toru, because it's Suna's real name, found him and took him into the "Yoru" club. Nomura Kaoru has been here already. At first everyone had their own rooms, but then Endou Dai appeared in the threshold. After that they also met Wada Yuji and Miura Ikari. And those few years ago they welcomed in their club Takagi Sakamo. Akiya remembered this day very well.
It was raining or maybe even pouring. Dai was busy with his bar as always. Ikari has been reading a book, leaning on the wall. It wasn't an interesting story, though, because his red hair fell on his face, when he almost fell asleep. Thrice. Yuji has been searching through newspapers and noting information about killers. Suna left the club several hours earlier, because he wanted to enjoy this rainy day. Akiya was sitting on the windowsill and observing humans walking on the streets. When they were close enough to their club, he could see their snow-white auras. Sometimes Akiya saw some conquerors, but he knew that they probably weren't aware, of who they were. Conquerors are asleep during the day, because at night they're working. It's like some kind of night shift job.
Akiya narrowed his eyes as he noticed amidst the raindrops a materialising silhouette of Suna, who was supporting someone. Kawakami jumped to his feet and ran out of the club.
"Newborn" announced Suna, handing young vampire to Akiya. "I saw some conqueror, who was crying because of his death. I felt sorry for him."
"Why is he uncouncious?" asked Akiya, walking into a club.
Yuji and Ikari stopped what they were doing, curious about this situation. Dai didn't even notice that something was going on.
"I had to hit him, because he told us that he prefers being burn in the sunlight than drinking blood" Suna snorted. "That conqueror tried to force him not to do it. He even introduced himself. Uchida Kazuma or something like that."
Akiya came back to reality. He looked at Sakamo and leaned to him.
“You’ve met Kazuma, right? That’s why you were so happy?”
