Kousuke crossed a border of "Sakura" district. He knew that this mission is going to be easy. Three smileys? Piece of cake.
He remembered that recently he met a smiley in "Ayame", but then he learned that it was Megumi's child, so everything became clear.
Kousuke looked around. He was on some square. He knew that there was a place, where smileys had been causing a trouble recently.
"Weee, look, it's a conqueror!" squeaked one of them.
Kousuke just smiled, turned around and anihilated him.
"Whoops, a conquey bad" said the second one.
He turned into the ashes too.
"It's not funny. Bye, conquey!" a third one tried to escape, but Kousuke threw an antivampire net on him and stabbed him with a stake.
Kousuke brushed the dust off his clothes, folded a net and put it into his pocket.
"Well, well, well. Ueta's son is a pretty smart cookie" he heard a voice.
Kousuke turned around sharply. He saw Taniguchi Hideki, Yokoyama Megumi's husband.
"What are you doing here, Taniguchi?" asked Kousuke.
Hideki just smiled maliciously.
"You know, your parents are weird. They shouldn't let you look for us. You can get hurt."
"My parents aren't weird" denied Kousuke. "And they know, how risky is this job is."
"Your stupid mother killed my son" said Hideki with an almost sad voice.
"And maybe you want to tell me that we're the ones who are bad?" Kousuke felt offended. "If I started to talk about bad things you and Yokoyama had done in your vampire life, we would stay here until the daybreak. And I don't know, how you could kill a whole family in front of a child."
"We could. And you know, I don't understand, how it's even possible that he's such a good conqueror. He has white aura, right?" Hideki smiled maliciously.
"Shino is very smart, strong and talented. It doesn't matter what colour is his aura" replied Kousuke, clenching his fingers on a stake.
He had a stange feeling that he won't come back from this mission.
"Well, your aura is going to disappear in a second" said Hideki and vanished into the air.
The conqueror was looking around, but he couldn't hit this vampire with a stake. And when he threw a net, Hideki caught it in two fingers and disappeared again.
"Try, try, little fish. Maybe you'll hit me, but remember that I am the fisherman and I am casting the nets" Hideki laughed.
His voice echoed in Kousuke's head, as if the vampire was sitting in his skull instead of running around him.
"Fish can be dangerous too. Have you ever heard about piranhas?" asked Kousuke and heard only short, malicious laugh as an answer.
"And what would one little piranha do to me?" Hideki materialised next to Kousuke, grabbing his arm. "Bite my finger?"
In that moment Kousuke felt horrible pain in his chest. He looked down and saw a dagger flickering in the moonlight. The same dagger, which Megumi used to kill her victims.
"Why... did... you?" Kousuke fell to his knees.
Hideki smiled maliciously.
"You're the last piece of murder puzzle. Now our poor boy doesn't have anyone. Well, maybe your parents" explained Hideki. "You know, looking at dying people is relaxing for me. That's why I didn't stab you straight in the heart. You're going to die slower."
Kousuke put his hand in his pocket and found the transmitter. He pressed the red button, which triggered the alarm in the Shelter. Hideki, however, noticed it, took the transmitter out of his pocket and trampled it. Like his cellphone, when he tried to call for help.
"Goodbye, Kousuke" whispered Hideki and pulled out Megumi's dagger from Kousuke's body, who closed his orange eyes.
And everything seemed like he would never open them again.
