Morning was already dawning and birds were chirping outside the small window of her room when the stench of alcohol and the hard landing on the wooden floor jolted her from sleep. 

"Ow!" A completely drunk Havir pulled the covers off her and slurred, seeking balance, with his arm raised. 

"This is the bed of Havir the Mighty!" With that, he fell into it and began snoring on the spot like an old bear. 

Phoenice decided it was time to set some things straight. She also already knew how she would get him to listen to her and not just herself. 

 

Havir awoke from a terrible dream. He had dreamed of being stuck in a rat-infested hole with an elf who demanded that he risk his life, and especially his flawless beauty, to help her sister. Opening his eyes, he found that he had not been dreaming, but was really stuck in a rat-infested hole with an elf who had tied him to the bed and was looking at him with a most satisfied grin. 

"sh...sh..." this thunderstorm bitch had actually dared to make him gag the beautiful Havir, with an old dirty rag, if he went by the taste of the stuff between his lips. 

"So, Havir, the conceited one. We need to set some tiny little rules for our journey together." It took Phoenice all her courage to speak the words. Even though he was her prisoner now, she couldn't forget that he was one of the most powerful mages. 

Havir believed either the alcohol was clouding his mind or he was still asleep and had a new, much more terrible nightmare. 

"First of all, this isn't just about you! Second, well, that's about it. I have to get to Mius, and if you want your book, we'd better get it done before the second moon, or all the pages will be blank forever." Anyway, the threat seemed instead of indignant and miffed as before, he was now looking at her really, really pissed off. She briefly toyed with the idea of leaving him tied up there for a day or two until he calmed down, but time was breathing down her neck worse and worse. Carefully she approached him to remove the gag. Step by step she would release him and then begin to pray to the gods for mercy. 

"I am Havir the..." Gag back in. Crap, she didn't seem to be one step further. Somehow he had managed to get the scrap of cloth out of his mouth, because he immediately started again.
