As they were getting ready to leave, Alex paused at the door. "Hey, have you heard of that new coffee shop on Pike Street? It's supposed to be really good."
Adam shrugged. "No, I haven't. Why do you ask?"
"Just thought we could check it out before we head to the bar," Alex said, grinning. "Who knows, maybe you'll meet someone there."
Adam rolled his eyes but couldn't help feeling a flicker of hope. Maybe it was time to start putting himself out there again.
They walked to the coffee shop, which was only a few blocks away. It was a small, cozy place with warm lighting and a relaxed atmosphere. As they stood in line to order, Adam found himself scanning the room, looking for someone interesting.
That's when he saw him. The man at the end of the counter, his back turned to Adam, was tall with broad shoulders and messy brown hair. He was wearing a leather jacket and had a sketchbook tucked under his arm.
Adam couldn't take his eyes off him. He felt a jolt of electricity run through
his body as he watched the man turn around and catch his eye. He quickly looked away, feeling embarrassed, but couldn't resist stealing another glance.
The man was now making his way towards the door, and Adam couldn't help but follow him with his eyes. He felt a pang of disappointment when the man disappeared out of sight, and he realized he didn't even know his name.
He shook his head and tried to focus on his conversation with Alex, but his mind kept wandering back to the stranger in the leather jacket. When they finished their coffee, he suggested they walk around the neighborhood a bit, hoping to catch another glimpse of the man.
As they strolled through the streets of Capitol Hill, Adam couldn't help but feel a sense of longing. He wanted to find someone who would make him feel the way he did when he saw the stranger in the coffee shop. But he also knew that it wasn't easy to find love, especially after a heartbreak.
