Yuw couldn’t exactly describe what she was seeing, skies above her shined like a reflective surface of crystals and diamonds when light would hit it at the right angle. To her though, even the air, and the environment around her seem as if it was a diamond structure, solid to the eyes, but her movements were unhindered and breathing was as normal. The freedom she had before her was as if she was still in Dikuda, or anywhere on the planet of Gujin.
She looked around more as she sat up in the pool of water before her, in what looked to be some sort of fountain. There were people around her. Other-worldly beings. The perplexed giant watched as they traveled, landing straight into or out of the fountain. Some just appeared, blinking in existence, others beamed off, or evaporated into the air.
Too much was happening, and easy answers were not given. An overwhelming sensation began to come over Yuw while looking around the strange place she had awoken to. How, or why she appeared here was only two of the questions she had in her mind. “T-This is just a dream… You're dreaming.” She stopped, taking a moment to try awakening herself. Any trick she knew worked with no avail, the pinches along her arm stung, and water splashed from around her felt cold, sending chills down her spine. It flowed along her arm, and with it her energy seemingly streamed down as well. Yet, nothing was pulling Yuw back into her room, no matter how hard she tried.
She stopped, remembering to keep herself calm in these situations. She was in control, her body wasn’t locked in the static movements of repeating times before. It took her a bit, but slowly, Yuw had quelled her anxiety and panic. This wasn’t a dream at all, but instead a different world, like she was transported here while meditating. Her nerves finally calmed, and the only thing that she could think of doing was to determine what this place may be.
Getting up from the fountain, Yuw was slightly miffed at the fact that she’ll need to carry wet clothing around on her back as she explored the place. She was about to sigh, only to realize her clothes were suddenly dry, the water evaporating in an instant. As Yuw checked around her body and clothes for anything unusual, she noticed a silver cord coming from her. Reaching for it, she found it was connected to the back of her head, but seemingly disappeared without a trace after a meter or two.
As the curious giant made her way out from the fountain, she saw three other islands in the distance. They were different colors, floating in space, and all connected in a diamond pattern. Each having different biomes with bridges that connect them together. Two of which had large buildings, and they all had a beam of light emitting towards the sky, each a different color.
On her left, was an island covered in reddish plantation that had a triangular structure with a diamond-esque glow that was similar to the sky, and at the tip top of the pyramid structure was a golden beam that shined high. On her right, was a red soiled, rocky exterior, with a tall cylindrical building that had parts spiraling towards the top. From the peak of the structure emitted a green light that stretched into the diamond sky above. And straight ahead, the furthest island from the fountain, was a green valley that laid at the foot of a mountain. Glowing structures littered the area, but was too far to make out what they were.
She made her way out of the fountain area, passing more beings going in and out of the water. Once she got to the end of the bridge she started to recognize some of these beings as creatures of myth and legends in Dikuda, stories she was told when she was young. She grew up with these tales, and eventually grew out of them. Never before did she ever dream of actually seeing them with her own two eyes.
There was a turtle with a thousand eyes on the back of its shell. It reminded her of the story of a man, who, despite telling many to not be paranoid of everyone and everything, eventually became so himself. A tale of caution of being hypocritical and to trust others. Though now that Yuw has seen this creature with her own eyes, it seems like the tale was more a reflection of humanity itself rather than what the actual being represented.
There were also long skinny creatures of blue skin, with a huge head and an even bigger bulge attached behind them. The tales speak of these individuals as infected beings, punishment for picking out unclean food to eat and sleeping wherever they please. But now that she saw them, it felt like the storyteller was the one that misunderstood the being’s anatomy.
Then she saw flying beings that had the upper body of a human, but the limbs and the rests resembled an avian creature. Yuw had heard about these birds being the protector of some canyon, a place far away from Dikuda. They seem to be more civil than what was described in fiction.
Even headless people with no necks. A tale of ignorance, but now in their presence, Yuw understood that they were only considered headless because their bodies were mistaken to be humanoid when it wasn’t at all.
There were living stones, huge bat-like animals, and four big serpents that soared below them, along with many smaller ones. There were also creatures she had never seen, but the blue-haired woman's fascination was focused on the ones she knew, in awe that they really did exist, that it was not just some bedtime story for the children.
As she walked across the bridge, the woman noticed how great of a distance each island was. Yuw looked towards the end of the path, focused in an attempt to judge how far it was. Before she could react, she found herself standing in the exact location she was focusing on. Confused for a second, the giant looked around and took a moment to process what happened. She took notice that the other inhabitants were doing the same, and she essentially stumbled across the same method. Knowing she didn’t have such a long walk ahead of her, she gave a delighted sigh and continued.
While traveling, she saw someone on the bridge walking towards her. She was a short, black haired woman, with pink eyes. Yuw recalls herself as a child, being told about the legends of the pink-eyed people, rumored to be the descendants of a powerful god. Many wars and conflicts arose, while kingdoms and empires fell because of it; and due to such reasons, people treat these individuals as a bad omen. Yuw has never seen these people in real life, so it was certainly a surprise to see one here. And just like the people of Gujin, she also held a cautious attitude towards this person, instinctively wanting to avoid her.
The giant continued towards the pyramid building, not even knowing what it was. She just felt drawn towards the warm yellow beam that was emitting from the top of the structure. It wasn’t until she overheard someone talking about ‘heading to the Library’, did she understand what that place was.
Yuw passed a road covered with the pink petals of the plum trees that surrounded her. She recognized the trees from seeing them grow across Kaso, the island where Dikuda is, her home. The vegetation gave her a sense of familiarity, and lessened the anxiety of what may come.
As she climbed the stairs, Yuw was met with a huge Ox-like being. He had brown fur, and some armor on his right shoulder. Even someone as tall as her had to tilt her head back to meet his eyes, it was a new feeling for her indeed, and now knew how others felt with her. Height was something she thought she had just about everyone beat, but along with this new feeling, came the feeling of intimidation. Ultimately, Yuw decided against entering the library, and chose to wander the structure. As she followed a path towards the back of the building she found another door, though where it led was unknown, she approached nonetheless.
One of the first things she noticed was the lack of a line, which made her question if this was an entrance at all. She hoped to find out what this place is and seek a way to get inside. At the door was another guard, but both the entry and the guardian were much smaller. The sentinel on post was a young woman with short hair and amber eyes, wearing a white dress shirt, black vest, and purple tie. She had more armor compared to the first guard, which was only on the legs, and was worn over her purple dress pants.
