Since that day, Yuw would come to the Realms, not only to try entering the Library, but to see the doctor as well. Though she was never let into the mysterious pyramid, she looked forward to talking with Alex, and that made the trip to the Realm worth the travel. The giant always liked their conversations, and found herself learning more about this magical place every time.
“The Realm itself was created by someone named Li'ahnah.” The doctor mentioned it on one of Yuw’s visits. “The space looks very diamond-y because of this, since the spirit saw themselves as such.” Alex pondered on where she got that information. “Or so I’m told.”
“The Healing Temple, where I work, was created and maintained by Ghess,” The doctor also explained, trying to use her hands to visualize it as the two walked towards the spiral tower. “There are different types or levels of healing, which you can see on the building.” Alex then pointed towards the Healing Temple, “I work with what we might see as a normal hospital; operations, check up, and such. While others are more… Magical. Like the ‘I look at you and a beam of light heals you’ kind of magic.” She tried to explain, but was unsure how it worked herself.
As they got closer, Yuw was able to see that the Healing Temple was built out of the same smooth stone material as the fountain. The more she observed, the more it appeared to be made of one large piece of stone, as if it was carved and sculpted to create the building.
“There seems to be less people than I imagined here.” Yuw said, only seeing a few souls walking into the building, most of which looked to be doctors.
“Well, most physical injuries tend to be healed outside of the healing temple, kind of like house calls, while major problems must be dealt with within the Healing Temple.” Alex explained, “But I find that most that come are in need of mental help, so we have many therapists inside. Mental trauma is much harder to heal than physical.”
Upon knowing that Alex can teach her a thing or two about the place, Yuw was eager to learn about the Library specifically. She patiently waited for the doctor to mention it during one of her visits in the Realm. Until finally...
“As for the Library, Gwadeweido owns that,” Yuw’s ears perked up at the mention of the large pyramid building. “It is where people go to seek answers, either about themselves, or questions about life.” The area of the plum blossoms was larger than expected. As they passed the garden, the giant saw how strange the trees swayed, noticing them flow with the wind, while at other times, they moved with her thoughts. Yuw then watched as the pedals flew by, creating shapes as they glided through the air.
She saw someone sitting against a tree, and watched as the pedals form images around them, looking like they were reliving memories. This made Yuw want to sit and watch memories of her younger years, her times with Ryahno before she became so distant.
There were statues, neatly placed near the edges of the island. It felt like the placing had purpose, and not just for visual designs. The giant wondered if it was like the practice of arranging objects in living spaces to create balance with the natural world, similar to Dikudian culture.
One day, Alex met Yuw at the fountain and walked together towards the Library, but when the doctor spoke up and walked in another direction, Yuw was caught by surprise.
“Over there is the Treasure Bowl,” Alex pointed to a green island with what looked like glowing spheres scattered around and guided them there. “That is the living quarters, each one of those domes is almost a city itself, and even has schools for anyone wanting to learn, with someone named, Fa- uuuuuh Falahi in charge.” The doctor tried to pronounce, “I think that is how you say their name.”
Yuw’s eye widen at the mention of the name, shocked to hear of such a person in a place like this. “Falehi? The Goddess, Falehi?” She asked, making sure she heard her correctly. “She is the Goddess of the Gods, where I am from.” The taller woman exclaimed, with excitement in her tone.
“Oh? Then you should be the one to enlighten me, I would love to learn more about her.” Alex chuckled, delighted to connect with this person.
“Falehi is the Goddess that ruled over the other gods, and is known as ‘The Ink Butterfly’ on the planet I’m from. In some cultures, it’s said that our planet, Gujin, was asleep for a long while, and because of that, the lands fell into chaos and there was a lot of war.” Yuw explained, constantly looking over to make sure Alex followed along. “She was the one that reawakened the planet’s spiritual powers and brought peace to the world. Right now, other than one specific border that’s heavily guarded by two big countries, there’s practically no war going on in Gujin.”
“I see, here, she is well known for doing those fun festivals, like the food stands you saw when we first met.” Alex explained, “But, she spends most of her time taking care of those who live in the Treasure Bowl. At least that’s what I’ve learned.”
“Speaking of living,” Yuw said, “how do you divide people up? According to age? Species? Culture? And the schools you mentioned, are they all the same? Or do they vary between the different habitats?” The giant was curious on how they function here, due to the problem of favoritism upon districts in Dikuda, or anywhere in Gujin.
The doctor took a moment to ponder before answering. “The way I see it, there is no exact method of distribution, only that we are assigned by the people who bring us to the Realm.” Alex looked towards one of the habitats with a smile, it was clear she was thinking of something delightful. “And from what I experienced, my room seems to always be in the right place.”
Although the topics were interesting, and sparked Yuw to ask more questions, her pull was still towards the Library. Her curiosity on who this “Gwadeweido” person was continued to rattle her brain.
The day passed and another came, along with it another visit. Yuw had repeated the same routine to learn from Alex, and discover more about the Realm itself. She always went straight to the doctor after being denied entry from the Library’s guard. As she walked the path to meet up with her friend, it was, once again, crowded with another festivity of some kind. Observing closer, she noticed the different sounds of music and instruments in the air. Each played tunes that were both familiar and unfamiliar, perhaps from different areas of Gujin. The giant took a little bit longer, listening to each song for a while.
There were three separate stages across the area, but none of them drowned the other out. When Yuw would focus on of the performances, she was able to hear only their music, as if she was able to mute the other acts.
While listening, her eyes drifted to the audience, gathered in groups. Some sitting on the floor, some crowding the stage. Some stuck out in the crowd as she remembered them from the last festival. One of which was not hard to notice as she saw the same group of Canikin, with the silver-haired woman in the center once more, howling to the sound of the music.
After some time she did meet back up with Alex, eager to learn more of the Realm. “Did you have fun?” the doctor asked as the blue-haired woman approached.
“Yeah, it was pretty interesting.” Yuw looked back on the path, giddy about the experience. “How often do these festivals happen? And how do they bring all this into the Realm?”
“That depends on Falehi’s arrangements. They enter this place the same way you do, through the Fountain.” Alex gestured towards the watery island. “And that is overlooked by ‘Ya…-Yahvay’,” Alex took a deep breath, in which Yuw thought she heard her curse. “As you can tell, her name is hard to pronounce, too. So some of us call her ‘Star’.”
“Star? You mean Yavei?” Yuw’s voice was excited with a smile to match, happily surprised at how much familiarity she actually had with the place and its residents.
“Oh, another one of your gods?” Alex asked, delighted to hear that the giant knew yet another name.
“Yeah, A deity that demonstrates their powers through sound, or song, or… I didn’t exactly pay too much attention to folklore… Plus, overtime, there were several versions of their origin and power.” Yuw explained, trying to recall what she knew about the tales. “We call them Yavei, which means ‘Star’ because it’s short for the title ‘A friend from another star’. It’s said that they work closely with Falehi. Almost like her second in command… I think?”
