After the unexpected and fiddly supper in the Kitchen. Creighton and Lady Agatha walk together to the hallway. Large, double-paned glass windows took up the entire left side of the wall. They are bathed in moonlight, which also illuminates the hallway they are in.
Liam was soundly asleep in his father’s arms while Lady Agatha walks beside him on the left. She stops for a moment. She looks at the window glass as she again glimpses at the moon and bright stars. As the moonlight shines upon her face. She wants to make things right. At that moment she felt something she has never felt before, she then touches her chest with her right arm, close palm, as she looks at Creighton’s back walking. While Creighton was in deep thought on what to say to her.
“Creighton”
Creighton stops and turns around, as they face each other. The moonlight shines upon the two of them.
“Yes, Lady Agatha.” Creighton looked at her in silence.
They look into each other's eyes that want to say something yet don’t know where to start.
“I would like to apologize for earlier. I believe I crossed the line by acting as Liam's mother. I know losing someone takes time to heal and it’s not that easy to forget either. But I just don't want Liam to feel the same situation I’ve been through, the feeling of emptiness.” Lady Agatha sincerely said, with her modest look.
Creighton standing did not say anything because he doesn’t know either how to say it or what to say to her. His heart is throbbing, the eagerness to get closer to her and the eagerness to at least hold her hand.
“I know what I did is irrevocable, for Liam addressing me as her mother. However, I want to take responsibility for it. Creighton, will you let me become Liam’s mother until he grows up?”
Lady Agatha confessed how she wants to be closer not just to Liam but to him as well. Creighton's eyes wide opened, in disbelief.
“Lady Agatha, It’s-” He was about to say something but was reminded of what Butler Donald told him in the stables.
“If somewhere in your heart, you feel something for Lady Agatha, please do so. Do not hesitate. I have nothing against it. Lady Agatha deserves someone who will love her and stand by her side at her worst. And, when that happens, I would be contented if it’s you, Creighton.”
“You don’t need to answer…” she was about to continue when Creighton interrupted and said,
“I’d love to, Lady Agatha” He looks at her tenderly with a smile and eyes as calm as an ocean.
“Huh?” Lady Agatha with a stunned face.
Creighton walks towards her as Liam is soundly asleep. He suddenly reaches Lady Agatha’s left hand, as it’s his first time touching such a very soft and gentle hand. Then, he slowly holds it tight as he smiled at her tenderly without hesitation. Lady Agatha was captivated by Creighton's eyes the first time she saw him closely. There's no denying its evocative qualities.
“I do not know if what I’m doing or feeling right now, is righteous, Lady Agatha. I won’t hold back if you want to become Liam’s mother, and, if you accept, Lady Agatha, will you let me be your confidant?” Creighton said looking at her tenderly.
“Creighton-” Lady Agatha’s heart beats fast [ba-dump, ba-dump, ba-dump], as she slightly blushed looking at him.
“A confidant that will support you, protect you and will stay by your side at your worst. Will you let me? Lady Agatha?” Creighton truthfully asked as he did not let go of her hand.
Lady Agatha without hesitation and gently smiled back at him “I would love that, Creighton.”
“What could be the reason for me to slowly fall in love with someone like you?
To be honest, I don’t know
But one thing is certain
Whenever I see you,
Whenever you secretly gazed at me,
And whenever you smile at me
I am smitten by it”
