Nox, Dust, and Winston were all romping around on the carpet when Alester came in to look for Finn. Finn was sitting on the floor, laughing hard as the two bunnies jumped on him, jumped off, tried jumping on Winston, and then rolled over on the carpet. “I see they have their own personalities?” I looked up at him. “Mm. You can sit and pet them.” He sat next to me, and the bunnies cautiously came over to him. “They like to sneeze their approval to people.” Alester nodded, which made the bunnies jump backwards. I stood up, and the bunnies followed Winston, who followed me. I scooped up the bunnies, and set them in Alester’s lap. “You hold these, I have to go get something.” He nodded his head, looking at the two small creatures. Finn was making eager talk when I left. I went down to the kitchen, and grabbed a head of lettuce. Once I came back with that, Alester and Finn were playing with the bunnies, making them run in a circle. I smiled at that, and soon sat down. The bunnies smelled the lettuce automatically, and went straight for it. I gave them a leaf, and they eagerly munched down on it.
After a few hours, bunnies fast asleep, Winston satisfied with his dinner, I finally had some quiet time. Winston was curled up next to me on my bed, and I pulled out a book I was reading. It was quiet in the house, and I was happy. Soon, Penelope came into my room. “Can you help me with dinner?” I nodded my head. “Yes ma’am.” She smiled rolling her eyes. I locked my room after making sure that everyone was happy, and went downstairs. “What do you need help with?” She pointed to the stuff I had brought. “Can you prepare that?” I looked in the bag. “Oh..” She looked at me, confused. “What?” I shook my head. “Yeah, I can do that. Sorry. It took me a second to realise what I had bought.” She laughed. I pulled out the package of meat, bread, and a few other things that were in there from Mrs. Sergo.
It didn’t take me long to prepare what Mrs. Sergo had packed, mainly because I've made it before, and also because I know what this stuff is and how long to cook it. I was working hard on the other stuff though, mainly because I didn’t have it when I made this meal last. I knew this stuff goes with it, but like I said, I didn’t have it when I made it. “How are you coming along?” I looked up at her. “Good.” She nodded. “It smells great.” I smiled. “Thank you.” She nodded her head again, and went to help set the table with her mother. Jeremy came in talking to Alester about the parties and things they are going to have this winter. “And, I think you would then find the perfect lady for yourself at this one for sure sir!” Jeremy said, soon laughing a little. Alester gave off a weak laugh. “Yes, maybe.” Jeremy went to help, and soon I was serving everyone. I bumped Alester a little from the side as I reached over him. “I’m sorry, sir.” He nodded his head. “You’re alright.” I finished serving everyone, and I was now sitting down myself.
It was silent as we ate, and soon Finnigan spoke. “Can the rabbits eat with us tomorrow for breakfast?” I shook my head, ‘no’. “They have to stay in my room so we don’t lose them. But, you are welcome to come, knock on the door, and play with them.” He sadly nodded his head, but seemed pleased. Alester seemed immersed in something when I walked past the living room, and I went to my room. It was a quiet night, and soon blended into the next day. I got up, took care of myself, my never ending growth of what I call my children, and went to help in the kitchen. Althea and all of them seemed busy, and Alester seemed busy as well when I observed them throughout the day. Alester was eager to help me with dancing, as well as work on some of his skills. Penelope would help him when I wasn’t there, and soon Mrs. Sergo called in over the phone. I went to go pick up the phone. “Hello?” Her cheery voice greeted me. “Can you ask Alester to come to the phone?” I soon called Finnigan. “Tell Alester he is needed at the phone.” Finn ran off, and soon came back with Alester. I went up to my room, and soon sighed. I needed to figure out what was making them all so busy.
Finn came up to my room, knocked on the door, and soon invited himself in. Oh well on trying. “What do you need?” He looked at the bunnies that were fast asleep on my bed with Winston and Nyx. “Ah, they’re sleeping.” I saw his small, disappointed frown. “I’ve a question, Aarnav.” He nodded. “What in the world are you guys preparing for?” He smiled. “Mr. Alester is going to host a small fall party, to ease in the winter ones that are coming!” I nodded. “Ah, now that I know that, I can be less confused.” He nodded. Winston moved off of the bed silently. “Time to eat, isn’t it?” Winston’s eyes gave off a twinkle that seemed to make it look like he was winking. I smiled, and looked at Aarnav. “Do you want to learn how to feed a Chow Chow?” He eagerly nodded. We went downstairs, grabbed all the stuff to feed the dogs and bunnies, and then went back to my room. I showed him how much oats and milk to water ratio that was to go into Winston’s bowl, then the amount of food in Nyx’s bowl. Once done, the bunnies smelled the lettuce leaves and woke in a blissful sneeze and small stretches.
The next week flew by, consisting of preparations, baking and cooking, setting up, cleaning and a few other things. It was soon time. Alester seemed nervous about this, and I would be too because it is a big thing to prepare for even though it is a small group of people coming before the bigger group was to come in the winter. Alester called me in to help him with a few things. “Mm. Too nervous to remember how to tie your tie?” He nodded a little. “Do I look alright? Do my shoes look fine? Does this all look alright?” I tried not to laugh at him, mainly because I've been in this position before. “You look dashing. You’ll be the cat’s meow at this big bash you’ve set up. I’m so sorry I won’t be here to hear all the scandals of the night, but you’ll do wonderful. I promise.” I said, not realising how heavy my accent got at the end of my little pep speech. He nodded, seeming a little lighter. “Thank you.” I nodded my head again, and gave his tie a small gentle tug. “There. All tied together.” He smiled at me, and nodded again before leaving. I was behind him, and soon crashed into him. “Ah, apologies. I wasn’t paying attention there. I was about to sh-” he engulfed me in a hug, which lasted a minute before he let go.
