Note: This chapter is in the pov of the man who gave Cassian money outside the cafe. I watched the blue haired boy walk away with my money in his hand with a sigh. “Twenty pounds, he’s probably gonna spend it on drugs, why did I give him that?” I thought. I felt a sudden shock as I noticed who he was walking away with, “Brown hair, green eyes, the confident look, hands in his pockets. No way, and why would that blue haired boy need money if he’s with a fucking Oliveira, I must be mistaken. But, what if I’m not? What if the blue haired boy needs help. What if he doesn’t know.” I thought, getting up abruptly.
For some reason I was now finding myself following the two boys, they seemed to be getting on alright, not that that matters, or should matter, to me. I stopped, shaking my head, “Why am i doing this, it probably looks so dodgy, it is dodgy, but” Still, I resumed my probably stalkerish walk, following two kids.
They were walking into the arcade, not the new fancy modern one on the other side of town, the old one, that had no security, nobody went there anymore and the machines didn’t even work. The brown haired boy opened the door for the blue haired boy, “What’s his name again?” I thought, I replayed the short conversation we had had outside the cafe earlier, “Oh right, Cassian. Is this all my fault? If i didn’t give him money or found his parents and took him to them, he wouldn’t be in this mess right now. What mess? I didn’t even know what was going on here, I shouldn’t even be following them, it’s probably just two friends, but then again. That Cassian boy didn’t seem really from here, or that he knew, or knows, where he’s going. If something goes wrong here, I’m so sorry, Cassian. Don’t really know why I’m apologising to you in my head though.”
I waited outside the arcade door, I would stay there for a little while, just in case.
