N/A: Here it is!!! Enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyy
~Summer Pov~
“John, Ayan worries me.” I looked toward my husband. “I'm scared for him.”
“Why sweet pea?” he stopped from drooling over the fresh mangos to look me in the eye. “What's makin’’ you feel that way?’’
‘I’ll never get over your southern drawl.” I tease. “But the boy is clearly head over heels for his mate, and they only just met.”
“And what's wrong with that.” he raised a brow. Clearly not seeing my concern. “You were head over heels for me when we met?’’
I sighed deeply and rubbed my hand on my chest. Quickly looking up and then back at my husband. ‘Baby, don't be offended, but I wanted to fuck you when we first met.”
That lovely blush I adored that travels to his ears appeals, and he suddenly becomes bashful. “That's it?”
“Well, for the first week and a half, yes,” I answered truthfully. “But some time after that, I got to know you, and then love fell in place.’’
“Okay, okay, okay,” John says with his hands. “What does this have to do with my baby boy Ayan?”
I pout. “I thought I was your baby boy.”
“Sweet pea focus.” damn, he's laying the accent on thick. I can't wait to get home and ride my cowboy- “babyyyyy.”
I blinked and refocused on the conversation. “Ayan, your baby boy.” I mocked using quotation marks. I'm worried about that.”
“Sweet pea, look at me.” he gently grabbed my chin. “Everyone is different. Every predestined relationship is different. Well, you have a right to be concerned they have their whole lives to figure each other out. So the puppy love is now for him; it'll be much stronger.”
“But–”
“No buts, sweet pea. They will figure it out.”
I scrunch up my mouth but don’t say a word after that. If it got to concerning, I would step in regardless of john’s judgment.
“Baby.’’
“Mmmm?” I acknowledge.
He sends me a flirty smile and leans in close. “You’ll always be my number, baby boy.”
I sent him one right back. “Will you show me how much I am today?”
I was in the mood for some cowboy meat tonight.
“Only If you help me pick out the good mangos.” wow.
My face falls a bit before another smile lifts it. “Only if you get me my favorite grapes as well.”
He beams. “You got yourself a deal, sweet pea.”

“Aw, hell, Owen,”
“Haha, you must love my phone calls.” he teases.
“As much as I like wiping my ass with a cactus, why would you tell Darius my location?” I respond with dripping sarcasm.
“Must be a great practice anyways. He was acting weird. Now! Before you say anything, he seemed concerned.”
“The last time he was concerned,” I say with quotation marks. My temper rising. “I was choked up against a wall.”
Silence with all I heard as a response.
If he starts a problem around or with Ayan, I will beat his ass, and it will be your fault.”
“I'm coming up there.”
“What– no, no, tell Darius not to come. That's what you can do.”
“ It's about time for you to meet my mate. See you in 10.” was all he said before he hung up on me.
Well, fuck me.
“Is everything all right?” Ayan asked with concern.
“Umm yeah, just threat of the alpha triad coming to meet us. I didn't even hear you come over. You were so quiet.”
The concern on his face turned into worry. “Is everything alright?”
“Yes, bunny, they are just nosy.” I say to ease his nerves.
A lovely blush creeps on his face. “Oh.”
I smile. “Anything you like from here?”
He mumbled something I couldn't hear.
“Huh, what was that?”
“Ahem, Sushi or California rolls, to be exact.”
“An omega after my own heart,” I say, trying to ignore the flutter of unease that tighten in my belly.
Everyone was happening so fast. Now finding my mate. It’s one blow after another. I haven’t had a chance to catch my breath, and I don’t know when I’ll get the opportunity, if ever.
I don’t want to say I regret meeting Ayan. I don’t. Everything is happening so fast. I sound like a broken record. I feel like one as well. One moment I was cussing out Owen. The next, I was holding the most precious creature known to man. When I laid him down in his bed, I knew any chance I had of ever attempting to leave was gone. I mean, had plans, a life outside of being the girl born human desire having werewolf parents. There was college; there was parties, boys, girls! And they were taken from me. From me! Fuck
A tear started to slide out of my eye before I could stop it. I wipe it away before ayan could see it and panic again.
“Bunny.” I cleared my throat. I needed to focus on something different. “What were you doing at the registration office.”
A sad look crosses his face, and his eye well. “Signing my life away.”
“What– what do you mean?”
“Im an omega who was 23 without a mate. It was time to let the pack know I was mateless.”
“I’m trying to understand how is that a bad thing?”
“Aithne.” he meets my eyes. “I would’ve been assigned a mate.”
My heart stops, and it clicks. After reaching a certain age and haven’t been mated, Omegas have to report to the pack so that there square for future use in the packing business, such as trading members for alliances with other packs.
Anger and tears threatened their way back at the thought of Ayan being one of those members, which was crazy because I hadn’t even known him for a day.
“But you’ll have him for a lifetime.” Oillie chimes in.
She always made an entire at the most convenient times. “Are you saying that as my person(wolf) or someone trying to make sure they don’t lose their other half?”
“Both.”
“I appreciate the honesty, but I already said I’m not leaving him.”
“You don’t sound entirely happy about that.”
“I don’t know what I am or what I feel anymore, but I won’t separate you from your mate. I promise.”
“Our Mate. ours.” That was all she said before disappearing again.
“Anie.” I blink. “Aine.” ayan.
“Is that my nickname?” I ask.
He blushes. “Yes. Do you want to meet my parents? There in the produce section. My papa texted me that my dad needs a ‘third opinion’ on which mangos to get.”
“He must take his mangos seriously.”
Ayan rolls his eye. “Don’t even get me started on that man and mangos.” he holds out a hand. “Come on.”
“Yeah, Aithne, let’s go meet them.” a familiar voice said.
Dread ran up my spine as I immediately knew who it was. “Darius.”
The smile he sent me at the acknowledgment of his name was humorless and cold. “Hello, Aine.” The mockery was evident in his tone.
“I would ask what are you doing here, but the more important question is how long have you been listening to our conversation?”
He chuckles. “You were always a smart girl. It's what I always admire about you.” admire?
“Answer the question.”
He sobered and grew serious when he realized I wasn't playing into pleasantries.
I quickly moved in front of ayan at the look he sent him. A growl rumbled from my chest in a warning. “Darius.’’
“I came to talk to you.” he focused solely on my eyes. “In private.”
Still using my body to block Ayan, I turn and face him. “Do you know you way the produce section?”
He gulps and nods. “Are you in trouble?”
I smile in reassurance. “No, bunny. It’s just a needed… conversation. So don’t worry, find your parents. I’ll meet you after.”
I felt an emotion that wasn’t mine for the first time since my shift. I couldn’t describe how I knew it was Darius’s emotion, but I knew.
It was a strong determination and disagreement. as if he came here to prove my previous words to Ayan wrong. It left me worried about the following to come.
“Go.’ I tit my head in a random direction, signaling to ayan I wanted him to go. “I’ll be fine.”
He was hesitant at first but eventually walked away. My eyes stayed on his back until I could no longer see him.
“You felt it, didn’t you,” Darius spoke to my back. “My emotions.”
I turn and face him. “ I did. Wanna tell about it.”
“It’s what I came here about.” He vaguely said.
“I don’t have time for games, Darius, explain. Fully.” I wasn’t about to deal with his games.
“Why haven’t you ever tapped into the link?”
“Darius!” I snapped. “get to the fucking point.”
“What have I ever done to you.” hurt was clearly in his voice.
I was in disbelief. Even more so, at the raw hurt, I felt coursing in my veins as if it was mine. His emotions were on full display and entire for me.
“Darius,” I spoke out loud. Switch from the link to out loud. “Since I’ve met you, you have bought me nothing but pain and cruelty. When I look at you, that is all I see.”
“But I did everything for you!” he shouted out.
I took a step back. “What do you mean?”
He said nothing choosing to remain quiet.
“Darius, what do you mean,” I demand. A sense of dread overcame me. “Darius!”
He refuses to speak, simply shaking his head and walking away. Before I look a step to follow him, a strong hand grabbed my shoulder. “Leave him be. You won’t get nothing out of him now.”
I knew who it was before I looked as his sent gave him away. “I can’t keep doing this, Owen.”
“I know.” was all he said.
I finally turned to meet his eyes. They held a storm in as he looked on in the same direction where Darius left. “You know something I don’t.” it was a statement, not a question.
His stormy brown eyes meet mine. The look said everyone and nothing simultaneously, but enough for me to let the topic go for now.
“Hi, I’m Herny.” an unfamiliar voice said.
A small body with a mop of blond hair steps out from behind Owen, and my god. He was the tiniest thing.
“Oh, Owen,” I said, raising a brow. “You never told me you had a size kink.”
The petite blonde can be no more than 5’2 compared to Owens's 6'7 frame. With a small button-up nose, plump lips, and rosy cheeks. He was adorable.
“My God, you are adorable.”
He sends me a lovely smile as a blush creeps down his neck. “Thank you. You must be Aithne. I've heard so much about you.”
At that comment, I look back at Owen. “You have now?”
Owen smiles and shakes his head before grabbing what I assume is his mate’s hand and bringing him forward. “This is my fated Herny.”
I wave. “Hi.”
My eyes widen slightly at the beaming smile he sends me. “I’m so glad I got to meet you finally,” he said before hugging me.
I looked at Owen in shock. His smile is still” apparent before mouthing at me to go along with it.
“I must say I’ve never met a stranger who is so happy to see me well, actually.” So I say on second thought. My Bunny.
Ayan. I need to check on him. I know he must still be worried. “Would you guys like to meet my mate?’’
“How is that even a question?” They both said at the same time.
“Welp, let’s go.” No Need to waste more time.
