Delmire

Delmire (Sebastian 1/2)

Delmire (Sebastian 1/2)

Mar 04, 2023

--------------SEBASTIAN’s POV OF THIS STORY--

I was nervous, wringing my hands together. Today was the day I would be getting married to the woman I loved for a long time, and this would be the next chapter to our story together. My mother was on her way to Thealea’s room where the bride was supposed to be, and my father was here with me. “Sebastian, you look so pale.” I smiled. “I’m nervous, the happy kind of nervous.” He smiled. “I was that way when I married your mother.” I sighed. “Thanks father, that helps.” He gave off the same cheerful smile I carried. “Mhm!” I laughed, and soon was reported to where I was supposed to be. It wasn’t that long of a wait, but it felt like hours to me as I stood up there. I watched as Thealea, veiled, walked up here. The music seemed to fade in the background while I watched her. Her tall slender figure was fitted to the dress that my mother helped in getting fitted to perfection. I couldn’t help but give her a big happy grin. Her gloved hands were placed into mine.

---------(Fast forward 7 years, bc all the stuff from above is the same)--

I felt Thealea come up behind me and gave me a hug. I gave off a cheerful laugh. “So, what did you have to tell me?” I asked, and she let go to move the manilla envelope in front of me. “This.” I opened the envelope, read the contents, and soon turned around. Giving her a hug, I gave off a delighted laugh. “We’re gonna be parents!” I watched her smile happily. “What are we going to name the baby?” She frowned a little, and as she was thinking, I brought her to the living room. Once we were settled on the couch, and she was still thinking, I saw that she had gotten an idea. “Ah, how about Arianna if it’s a girl, and Miles if it’s a boy?” I nodded my head.

--------(Arianna is born)--

“Look at her sleeping.. I’m so proud of her, you, just, I'm so proud of everything.” I gave Thealea a cheerful smile as I looked into the light pink coloured crib. Seeing the small chubby face that was framed by a gentle white blanket. And, there was our Arianna. A beautiful, chubby faced baby. “I’m proud too. And, I want to write her a letter every year after her birthday, summing up every year that she’s here in this house. And then give them to her when she is eighteen, watching her face as it changes, hearing her laughter through reading these embarrassing letters.” I laughed, smiling. “How about we do that? Let her know how much we love her, and all that we’ve learned by watching her grow into a fine young lady.” She smiled, Arianna sneezed, and we both laughed. Pressing a light kiss on her forehead, we shut out the light. Once I was all showered and shaved, laying in our bed as I sat down at the small desk. “Are you going to write it now?” I watched her turn around a little, looking over her shoulder. “If I don’t, I'll forget!” She giggled, and I smiled. “Alright then.”

Arianna started crying in what felt like twenty minutes, when in reality, it was only six in the morning. We both got up, and Thealea went to her while I went to go get her breakfast ready. She had changed her diaper, bathed, oiled and powdered her little bum, and got her dressed. “Are you ready to see what your daddy has for you?” Arianna gave off an excited squeal as she kept on saying “Uh oh!” occasionally. Thealea smiled, and kissed the top of Arianna’s head. “Uh oh to what?” She giggled, and said it again. Thealea placed her in her highchair, and Arianna started her rhythmic routine of slamming down her little utensils, bowl, and spilling her milk while crying out in a gleeful state: “Uh oh!” We cleaned up after her, and once she was satisfied with food, we put her to play. She was walking around her playpen, her dark hair bobbing with every little run she would take. She fell over, but landed on her bear plush. I watched as Thealea picked her up, and put her on her feet again. She continued to zoom around her play pen, which made both of us laugh.

--------(Madee is born :3)--

Arianna was such a smiley thing. Especially when her baby sister had come. “Mama, what would she have been called if she was a boy?” Thealea smiled at her. “Well, Arianna, she would have had your daddy’s name, Sebastian.” She smiled wider. “What’s her name again?” I lifted Madee’s car seat onto the couch. “Madelyn Astoria Delmire.” We both watched Arianna as she scrambled onto the couch. “She’s so pretty!” Her mother laughed. “Just like you Ari.” She turned her head and looked at Thealea, her chubby face turned into a frown. “Mnnn.. I think you’re pretty too.” Her mother scooped her up and into her lap as I pulled Madee out of her car seat. “I think we’re all pretty.” She smiled wider, and giggled. “But, how come you put stuff on your face, and daddy doesn’t? Does that make him less pretty?” We both laughed. Madee squealed, and started crying. “Ah, no. It’s called makeup. You’ll get some when you’re older.” She nodded her head, but focused on her sister. I pulled Arianna over, and let her look upon the chubby crying mass. “She’s so chubby!” Thealea smiled and looked at her sister some more. “You were like that too, Ari.” She frowned a little as she poked her sobbing sister's chubby cheek. “Stop crying.. No more sad for you.” We both couldn’t help but quietly chortle at that. Arianna muttered something to Madee, which Madee slowly stopped crying, and giggled.

Madee seemed to make Arianna a little jealous. Arianna was talking to me when her mother and Madee came in. “And then, then, she made a weird sound. I dunno what it was, but it was a weird sound.” I laughed, and Madee gurgled, giggled, and then squealed in rage when she couldn’t reach me. “See! There she goes making that sound!” I laughed as I took Madee from her. “You made those sounds too when you were a baby, Ari.” Arianna scrambled into her chair, and looked at the food that we were going to be eating for lunch. “Really?” Thealea nodded her head. “Mhm. You would do that, and then squirm around.” Arianna giggled, and soon was watching as Thealea handed me the bottle for Madee. “And, you would also have this rubber duck you would hurl across the car, room, or just anything you could throw it in or at.” She giggled, and Thealea soon handed her a plate of food. “Mac and cheese?” Arianna squealed. “I love mac and cheese!” We both smiled. “Well, I didn’t know that!” Thealea and Arianna giggled, before Arianna shoved a spoonful into her mouth. Madee was taking her bottle down like she hadn’t eaten in a long while. “Woah! Look at her go, Thealea! She’s taking it down just fine.” I watched her smile at Madee, and placed a kiss on Arianna’s head, Madee’s head, and gave a kiss to me as well. Madee made a big belch when we burped her, and that made us all laugh, including her.

“Did I do that as a baby?” We smiled. “Mhm, you would do that to get our attention when you wanted more as well.” She giggled. “Eww!” Thealea smiled, and gave her another kiss on the head. “Well, how about we get you some ice cream?” She squealed in delight. “Can I have cotton candy? Please?” I smiled as I cleaned up the plates, and I could tell that Thealea was smiling as well. “Oh, look at those beautiful manners!” She giggled, and I laughed. Madee made another gurgling noise, and soon spit up right on my shirt, giggling and clapping about it before full on laughing. I handed Madee over to my wife, and went to go take care of my shirt. I didn’t care that Madee just spat up on my shirt, she was a baby after all. I probably did this to my father when I was a baby too.

-------(two years later)--

Arianna and Madee were playing in the living room and I was watching them. Madee had her favorite stuffed animal in her arms, and was chasing Arianna around. Thealea came in, smiling. “Madee, do you wanna pick up a gift for your sister?” Madee ran over to her. “Yes!” I was smiling as I watched Thealea smile. “You do!” She giggled, giving off a determined look. “Yes!” Arianna was soon sitting on the couch with me now. “Do I get to spend time with my daughter?” Thealea nodded her head. “Mhm. We’ll be back in a bit.” Arianna smiled. “This is going to be the best birthday ever.” She picked up Madee. “Aw, little girl, where are your socks and shoes?” Arianna and Madee giggled. “I dunno.” Thea sighed, and Arianna was squealing now, trying to cover it by hiding behind me. She set Madee down, and we all made an avid hunt for those little shoes and socks. Once finding them, Madee started to run around, making sure that we would never catch her. Once she was caught, Thealea put them on, and brought her to our car. She took the personal car that I had gotten for her birthday a year ago. It was a 2017 Rolls Royce Dawn. Such a pretty jet black car, a convertible at its best too. She had loved the make and model of it, and so I got it for her, mainly to spoil such a wonderful wife. Thealea buckled her all up in her car seat, and soon went into the driver's side. I stopped her before she started to pull out. “Hey.. don’t you think that you should be driven today?”
She shook her head, smiling. “Oh, love. Being chauffeured around makes me think I belong on a shelf. I am not some delicate object to be carted around.” I gave off a weary sigh. “Please, just let someone else drive you today.” She smiled again. “Trust me on this Sebsatian. I can drive myself.” I sighed, and placed a kiss on her cheek. “I love you, you know that right? Stay safe.” She giggled. “I love you too. And, I promise we will be back.” Nodding my head, I gave her another kiss, and lifted Arianna up so that I could give her a kiss too. “I love you, Arianna.” She smiled. “I love you too mama!” Arianna and I backed away, so that Thealea could pull out of the garage. She honked the horn, and waved to get a happy wave back.

----------------(2 ½ hours later)--

I received a call as I was making Arianna something to eat. I put it to my ear, seeing that it was the police. “Hello?” ‘Hello, this is officer Leya. I’m here calling you to tell you that, uh, well, your wife died. Your daughter is alive and well.’ I laughed, a bitter cold laugh. “This is just a horrible prank. Give the phone up to your father.” ‘Listen to me, Mr. Delmire. You are a widower now. Come and pick up your daughter, and we’ll tell you more.’ I called Vann and asked him if he could watch Arianna. Once Arianna was settled over at Vann’s apartment, I went to where the police officer told me to go. Sure enough, there was her car, another car, and a hoard of police, ambulances, and firetrucks. I was brought over, and caught a glimpse of a stretcher with a white sheet over it. I was pushed a little faster by an officer and brought over to the ambulance that had Madee in it. “Daddy!” She squealed, squirming with delight. I could tell that she was panic stricken. The remnants of tears were streaming down her face, and I gave her a strong hug. “Madee.” She buried her face as far as it could go into my chest.

“What are you going to do with her?” I heard an officer ask. “I’m going to take her home.” He nodded. “Well, she’s too young to have therapy, she wouldn’t understand what they were gonna do to her.” I nodded my head. “I know. I just want a proper burial for my wife, and I'll figure it out.” He nodded his head again, and pushed up his glasses. “Alright. Well, you’re free to go, and we’ll contact a funeral home. Any suggestions for it? We’ll have an FBI officer take a good look at her will, but we need to have clarification from you.” I shook my head, ‘no’. “I don’t know what she wanted, she never talked about death and dying.” He nodded his head again, and I noticed that Madee was slipping in my arms. I gave her a careful jolt up, and tried to hold her tighter. “We can have someone escort you home?” The thought of that made my eyes tear up more than I thought they already were. “N-no, I think I’ve got it.” The officer paged someone over his radio, and soon there was a small escort of officers behind my car, and an officer driving. Madee was sitting in my lap, holding on tight to my shirt.
