I hated how Ash was so cheerful for no reason the next morning. I had gotten dressed in a pair of regular ripped black jeans and a light red long sleeved tee. The first few hours of the day definitely did go fast. I had my first two hours with Veronica and Felicity, which we just giggled in the back of class, rolling our eyes as we got yelled at. Lunchtime came around, and I went to get my lunch. Even though Vann packs my lunch, I wondered if he packed Ash’s lunch. I doubt it, but I wanted to check. I walked behind Ash who was blankly staring at something in the distance. I took it out of her hands, which made her jolt. “Hey!” She yelped, and turned around looking at me. “Oh.” She said, almost a whisper. Veronica and Felicity were standing behind me. Jordain always sat with someone else at lunch, and I didn’t care who. But, this was entertaining. “Hey. Give me your lunch. Now.” I demanded, Veronica and Felicity giggled. “No. It’s mine.” Ash responded, coolly. After a few seconds, she added. “Doesn’t Vann pack your lunch? I packed my own.” I took a mental note. My suspicions of her packing her lunch were correct, and I could have stopped, but I didn’t. I groaned, and responded to her. “Y’know what? Give me your lunch and you can work in the kitchens for an extra hour after school today.” I was bribing her to do it. “No thanks.” Ash said, and soon added, “I spend as much time in there as I want anyway.” I groaned again, reached forward and took her lunch box. Ash frowned, and tried to take it back. “Hey!” I smiled. “What are you going to do about it? Cry to your friends?” I giggled, as well as Veronica and Felicity. Felicity tossed some of her hair from her shoulder behind her, and Veronica just giggled as she smiled. “What are you staring at?” I sniffed, and walked away. What a bunch of duds.
I was in my room, sleeping. It was a fun Friday for me. The highlight was taking Ash’s lunch as she looked at me helplessly, and that was really funny. But, it was now Monday all over again. At around 5:30 a.m. when I hear Ash screaming bloody murder at the top of her lungs. And unceasingly too. I got up, rubbed my eyes, and went downstairs. She was still screaming. Around 5:40, yea, ten minutes of her screaming as if someone put it on repeat, I ripped open those closet doors. She was still asleep, screaming. I shut them again, and soon she stopped. “Oh my god, finally.” I whispered. She opened the doors slightly and looked at me. I glared at her, mainly because I was angry. “You’ve been screaming for the past fifteen minutes! You woke me up and now I’ve lost my precious beauty sleep! You’re going to pay for that!” I hissed as I grabbed her by the wrist, and pulled her hard out of that sleeping bag. I marched her to the kitchen, and made my way to the stove. “What are we doing here?” Ash asked, and I turned my head, looking at her. “Oh, you’ll see.” I say, an ominous hint lacing my voice. Ash gave off a small whimper. I tugged her a little, and moved her hand to the stove. Turning it on, Ash jerked her hand, futilely trying to pull away.
I pressed it against the glace surface, and she closed her eyes to soon let out a piercing shriek as tears raced down her face. I didn’t let up, until Vann pulled Ash hard out of my grip. He was bear hugging her from behind, and I bawled my fists. “VANN! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” I yelled at him. Foiling my plan is not an option. “Saving your sister!” He hissed right back, and soon added, “The kitchen is closed until further notice!” I scoffed, rolled my eyes, and went upstairs to take a shower. I can just get something door dashed for breakfast. Plus, an Acai bowl sounds great right about now. I got dressed, and took a picture of the OOTD, posting it on my Instagram. My friends were the first people to like it, and I smiled. Jordain was active, but talking to someone. I rolled my eyes. She always avoided me for a while right now.
It had been a few hours since the kitchen incident where Ash hopefully learned her lesson. It was lunch now, and I had my lunch with my friends. Jordain waved at Ally, which I looked over at her. I rolled my eyes, and gave off a small scoff as I went to take a bite of my meal. “What is your problem, princes?” The girl, I presume as Ally, challenges me. And, NO ONE, challenges me and gets away with it. I scoffed. “I don’t have time for you. Go back to your loser group and hide in a corner.” I was, again, about to take a bite of my food when Ally goes at it again. “Hey! Your group is full of losers! You adopt a girl just to make her your servant? Take out all your angst on her? That’s just sad. And all your friends, except Jordain, follow suit? You can’t even do your own work. Have you no pity for the plain girl? You’re the biggest loser of them all!” She had been walking right over to me, and soon slapped me just like I had done to Ash a few weeks ago. To me, it didn’t really hurt, but it did leave a mark.
Ash snickered about it, and her friend yelled out, “You’re a horrible person if you think we’re going to let you bully Ashtynn any more!” Ally and the girl who yelled that looked at eachother, and nodded before they continued. “If you bully Ashtynn again you’ll get more than a slap on the cheek! That should get your head out of the clouds!” Her two friends, as well as Jordain, walked back into the court yard where they sat. Everyone was looking either at me, or at Ash’s group. Two teachers who had watched all that went down, came over. One came to me, the other to Ash’s group. They took myself, Cookie and Ally to the office. I did have every right to play the victim card because I was hit first, but I don’t think that I want to. Soon, Ash was brought into the office. I sat there with my head leaned back, looking at the ceiling. Yeah, I did deserve that slap across the face, and also the words they used, but they didn’t have to make a huge deal of it.
Ally was sitting next to me, making sure that I couldn't touch Ash. Why would I want to touch her anyways? I’ve had my fill of drama for now. I glanced over at Ash, who was picking the gauze on her hand. Why did I care? Ash looked up, and I looked away. Ash’s friend, Ally, broke the now really awkward silence. “Hey, Ash, you know that Halloween is coming up, right? You gonna come trick-or-treating with us this year?” Ash opened her mouth to answer, but I said something. I thought I was thinking in my head, which made this embarrassing. So, instead I scoffed and said, “Trick-or-treating? What are you, five?” Ally glared at me, and so I glared right back at her. “No one asked for your opinion, curiosa. Butt out.” I rolled my eyes, and Ally focused her attention back on Ash. “Yeah, I am going.” I heard the confidence lace Ash’s voice. I couldn’t help but remember how I used to be that confident. The next thing I know is that I’m sitting next to Ash in the limo going home. “Arianna..?” She looked over at me, and I turned my head. “Can I talk to you?” I frowned. “No.” We sat in silence for the whole ride home.
We walked into the house, and I glanced over to see Ash watching Vann in the living room. I followed Ash to her closet, and soon we both gasped. Father did indeed come home a week early. “Hello girls, hello Vann.” He said, and I watched his eyes narrow at me a little. I guess he heard of what happened? Oopsies. His eyes darted down to Ash’s hand, which made me shift a little. I kept my gaze on my father, trying not to show the fear that I had growing inside me. “Arianna. May I have a word with you? In private.” I nod my head, He took me into a separate hallway. “Arianna, how could you?” I looked at him, not knowing what to say. Before I could even say something that was honest, I blurted out the first thing that came to mind. “She was asking for it!” He covered his face with his hand. “Arianna.. You know better. What is with your behavior?” I bawled my fists. “It’s not my fault.” He moved his hand, his eyes widening. My father was never a physically violent person, but seeing him raise his hand made me flinch. “Enough.” I nodded my head, and kept it down. I looked at my socks, feeling my eyes well up. “You didn’t even ask me. I didn’t want her. I wanted my sister, Madee.” He sighed. “I know.” I looked at him. “Why didn’t you look for her? You know where you dropped her off! She stayed there for years! Why didn’t you go and get her?!” I couldn’t help but raise my voice. I really wanted my sister like i’ve said.
“I’m sorry..” I turned around, and soon glanced back at him. “You didn’t even tell me when you took her away.” I hissed, and walked to my room. I soon came to my door, opened it, and slammed it behind me. My father came into my room after around fifteen minutes. “Ari.. I’m sorry for not asking you.” He sat on the edge of my bed. I sat up, and glared at him. “YOu never ask me! You never spend time with me! Every time you do you just say: oh sorry, I have to leave. And then you don’t come home for months! Mother wouldn’t even agree with this. Maybe if she were here, it would all be better again. Maybe you should just go and leave like you always do.” He stood up, rubbed the back of his neck, opened his mouth to say something, and then shut it again, shaking his head. I watched as he walked out and shut my door.
It’s been a few days, and father was obviously gone. He left for work, which is his new love affair. I heard the phone ring in the living room. “Huh.. we don’t have a phone in there?” I quizzically whispered, and before I could enter to pick it up, I saw that it was Vann’s cell phone. He was on the phone with someone. “Hello? Hello, Donovann.” There was silence. “I think that I am going to lay you off for a little while until Arianna settles herself out. You can take Ash with you, because she seems to be the root of Arianna’s behavior.” more silence. “I’m sorry Vann, I have to do this. Bye now.” I quickly made my way to the kitchen. I was glad that tomorrow was Monday. I went, grabbed a few snacks and my athletic stuff, and asked Christopher to drive me to the gym. “Ms. Arianna, I’ve never heard you ask before? Are you alright?” I nodded. “Yeah, I'm fine. Now, let’s go. It’ll close by the time we get there if you don’t hurry up.” I hissed as I threw my backpack into the back of the car. I’ve never really been to the gym, but I thought that it would be a good idea to start.
Half way through the work out that I was going off of from Youtube, I get a text from Jordain, the first text from her in probably a few months. ‘Hey, there’s a school newspaper article about you.’ I clicked the file attachment.

ARIANNA DELMIRE V.S. ASHTYNN REYES
There was a whole scene at lunch last week, involving Cookie, Ally, Arianna,
and Ashtynn. The three girls mentioned before Arianna are friends.
But, Ashtynn is apparently, Arianna’s adopted sister?
Arianna treated Ashtynn like a servant since she got to Arianna’s house.
For those who don’t know, Arianna is Ash’s bully. She’s been bullying Ash
non-stop for months. Ash has always been kind to Arianna, but this last week,
that all changed. Ally practically battled Arianna. Arianna got a heavy slap to
the face, and also some words. She surprisingly didn’t fight back like she would
have. But, there is something else. She’s been abusing her adoptive sister, Ash
for a while now. From slapping her face, to burning her hand and making her
sleep in a closet for a bedroom; is she referencing Harry Potter or what
with that closet thing? Anyways, Arianna deserved what she got that day.
PUGS V.S. PARROTS?
Pugs or Parrots? Popular question that has been going around the newspaper
nook.
