Making his way inside the army base a young man named John finds himself standing in front of the barrack of his new military unit., looking up at the sign that says 3rd special recon “We who walk the shadows!” with the head of a cassowary.

John walks into the barracks, where he is greeted by a Sergeant Johnson. Sitting in the first room to the left.

Sergeant Johnson: Hello there, son! Welcome to 3^rd  special-recon.

John: Thank you, sir!

Sergeant Johnson shows John where his bunk is and where to put his gear. And looks at Johns transfer order.

Sergeant Johnson: So, Marin recon, well, you’ve come to the right place! We are the best at intel gathering and other “nasty business”.

There is a laugh from across the room.

John: Thank you, I hope so Sergeant!

 

 

 

Chapter 2

John completes basic evaluation tests during the first month and are assigned to the unit as a scout.

John’s unit is tasked with conducting a night mission in a remote area of the US. It is supposed to be a black op, infiltrate and retrieve tech from a rouge science facility. After a long flight into to the remote wilderness, they are dropped off and the black painted Blackhawk took off into the dark night and disappeared. Armed with a XM250 sound suppressed LMG, John makes his way before the unit. Scouting for enemy’s and alarm systems. Closing up to the compound, John suddenly feels a strange sensation in his body. All the hair on his arms stands up. He hears a hummin sound from the building.

John: What the…?

John is hit by a blast of energy and falls to the ground.

John awakens to find the team medic looking over him.

Sergeant Johnson is sitting next to them talking into the radio, ordering a casevac

John: What the hell happened to me?

Team medic: We are not sure, we heard a bang and then when we rushed here, you were on the ground knocked out and the building are on fire.

John: I heard a hummin and then got knocked to the ground. He tries to sit up but fails.

John feel and odd sensation in his body when the medic examens him. By accident he saps the medic with a small electric discharge and knocks him to the ground.

John: What the hell? Looks confused on his hands.

Sergeant Johnson turns over and looks at them both.

Sergeant Johnson: We need to get out of here, casevac are on its way to the pick-up point. Can you both run? Both the men nods. The six-man team heads of to the pick-up point. John leans on the medic to be able to run.

Chapter 3

 

Back at the base John gets a look over at the base doctors. They do the briefing to the op- leader. Later while being alone in the barracks, John tries to tests his powers and manage to create an electric field around him. That makes lamps pop and kill the tv on the wall.

John realizes quickly that he has become a sort of living generator, capable of creating and manipulating electricity at will.

John asks everyone to follow him outside. All the team follow him out on the backside of the barrack. To see what he wants

John shows his team members the sparks/lightning he are able to create, and they are amazed by his newfound abilities.

Team medic: Holy crap, John! Did you just create that lightning bolt? He looks at John a bit scared and surprised.

John: Yeah, I don’t know how I did it, but I feel like I can control electricity now. I have tried to create flashes and surges of electricity.

Sergeant Johnson: does it hurt?

John: No, it just tingles on the surface of the skin. So, no pain but it seems to make me tired, if I do it to much or too long.

 

 

 

 

 

Chapter 4

John’s unit keeps this a secret and didn`t say anything to anyone while John tried to get more control over his new powers. He soon learned that like a battery he need to recharge after a while. Or he gets week.

During one of physical evaluation on the obstacle course, he by accident unloads a shockwave that injures several soldiers. He is then separated from his unit and held in arrest.

During the time in the arrest John is approached by a mysterious officer, who offers to help him with his abilities.

Officer Black: You have incredible potential, John. I can help you learn to control your powers.

John: Who are you?

Officer Black: Well, they call me a fixer. I sort out problems that other have. You know there are a team of people that could help you. Make you stronger. That is if you help us.

John: Us? Looks at Officer Black.

Officer Black: Yes, us the government.

John thinks for a while and then agrees to join officer Black and his team.

Officer Black: Keep in mind as long as you do what the government want you will be well taken care of.

Officer Black takes John to a lab and a training facility. His team begins training John to teach him to control his powers and also equip him with gear that enhance them.

Officer Black: John remember! Being morally flexible is a must to survive in this line of work.
