I ran to my mother with a tissue as she coughed up blood "mom are you gonna die?" I asked handing her the tissue "of course not Ariana don't say such things" my mother said in a comforting tone. Deep down I knew it was a lie, she did to but I think she just wanted to keep me from being afraid of losing her for as long as possible.

A week later she passed away from the sickness and not to long after that I got it. It was around that time that people started figuring out that the few who survived the sickness got strange and unusual powers. Dangerous powers, as more and more people survived the sickness more got powers. That was finally when the government got involved. I learned that the hard way.

*BANG* 

I heard as the door finally burst open "STAY AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER" my father yelled trying to protect me "Ahhh" he yelled as he fell to the floor with a taser in his side "DADDY!" I yelled getting up off the couch and running to him. Soldiers began to surround me as I held my father who was still twitching in pain in my small arms "GET AWAY" I yelled at the top of my lungs when suddenly a huge gust of wind pushed all the soldiers back against the wall "quickly sedate her before she uses her powers again" one man yelled when suddenly I was grabbed from behind "no... Let me go!" I yelled as I felt something get stuck in my neck. A few seconds later my mind became fuzzy the man dropped me and I tried to get up but was unable then everything went black.

When I woke up I was in a white room I wasn't sure how long I had been out or where I was but worry only filled my mind, worry for what would happen to me worry for what happened to my father, worry for it all.

The room was white from ceiling to floor wall to wall. The bed I woke up on was covered in a white sheet and blanket and there was a little curtained off area along with a desk and chair that were all white as well

*Knock Knock*

I heard on the door and took a step back as the door opened "Your Arianna Sinclair right I'm doctor Thompson, I'll be performing your examination today" a waman said entering the small white room "Examination?" I questioned. "Yes" she said closing the door behind her "I guess you have a lot of questions hm, If you want I can explain it all to you quickly" she said and I nodded my head.

"It started 2 months ago when people around the world mysteriously began to get sick and quickly die the symptoms started off like a normal cold but got much worse until the person died in complete and utter pain" she began "after casualties began building up even more the government got involved and began investigating and soon found out nothing as to where this mysterious sickness came from or how it spread. at that point everyone who got sick died. it wasn't until about a month ago when the sickness seemed to have evolved. instead of everyone who got sick dying some began to survive it but those who survived got some unusual power. hence the term the beginning as I'm sure you've heard" she continued.

and that's why your here, you survived the sickness and undoubtedly have an ability as proven when you were picked up. I'm here to figure out what that ability is and how it affects your body" she finally finished. "What happens after your done with me?" I asked "I don't know" she replied "anymore questions?" she asked "Where's my dad?" I asked and her eyes seemed sad for a moment "I'll find out and let you know" she replied as she began to hook me up to some strange machine and put a helmet on my head.

"now just lay back and relax" she said and I did as she told. as days passed she came every day to run tests on me, everyday I asked the same question about my father and everyday she would say "I'll find out and let you know". we didn't get far with her examination, she could tell by my brain waves that I had a power but since there was no indication of it being activated since the day I arrived here she was unsure was exactly to test me for so she slowly tested me for everything at least every power that had to do with psychic abilities I think.

*Knock Knock* she knocked and opened the door the same way every day it had almost become annoying. "Tell me what happened to my father!" I snapped standing up "I'll find out and let you know" she said once again "IM NOT DOING ANY MORE TESTS UNTIL YOU TELL ME WHERE MY FATHER IS....!" I yelled and a huge gust of wind pushed her against the door hard "oh my God" she said shocked with a slight smile "I never suspect aerokinesis" she said still with a smile. "You want to know fine I guess since you've finally showed your ability I can tell you" she said standing up straight and fixing her hair. 

"I'm sorry I have to be the one to tell you this Arianna but your father is dead" she said and her words rang through my ears as tears filled my eyes "no" I said looking down at the ground shaking my head "no this can't be happening!" I said as I put my hands on my head as I continued to shake it no. 

"No No no no no no no no no no no" I said as I began to pace back and forth "YOUR LYING" I yelled as I threw my hand up in her direction and a huge gust of wind blew again out of no where pinning her against the wall. "I don't lie Arianna" she said "he's dead because you killed him" she said seriously.
