He Was My Gift From The Goddess

Chapter 10

Chapter 10

N/A: Enjoyyyy💕💕

Owen’s Pov~

“Yeah yeah, I'll be there as soon as possible…..thank you for calling…..yeah yeah…bye.”

I rub my forehead and sigh deeply after hanging up. “Got damn it, Darius.”

“What happened?” Henry asked, coming up to rub my back.

“Darius showed up to Ayan's house drunk, and I need to go pick him up before Aithne finds out and actually tries to kill him.”

“Has she answered at all?”

“No, and that's what worries me. I can feel her. I know she is alive, but she's blocked her emotions from me.” I slump further into my desk chair.

“Hey.” Henry grabs my face. “Don't panic, you know she's alive, and after the 48 mark, we’ll send a search party out for her.”

“I really hope it doesn't come to that.”

My mate smiles down at me. He gently pulls me up from my chair and hugs me. “My big strong bear.”

“I'm a wolf,” I mumble childishly. “But I am worried.

“Come on, let's go get Darius. Ease some of your worries.” Henry offered. “And you can see ‘your whore’ while we're out.”

I rolled my eyes at his little joke at the end but nonetheless made my way out of my home office and to the front door. “I only have one whore, and his name isn't Evan.”

****

“Thank you again for stopping by. I don't know what we would have done if Evan didn't have your number.” Summer said, ushering us into the door.

“Come, come. He's asleep on the couch, so you guys don't have to rush just yet.”

Summer directed us into the kitchen, where he rushed to a boiling pot of, I think, tea because of all the herbs in it.

“Tea, anyone?” ah, yup, tea

“Is it mugwort?” Henry asks.

“Yes, how did you know?”

Henry sent summer a relaxed smile. “It's my favorite, but yes, I'll have a cup, please, with honey and lemon if you have some.”

“I'll have a cup, too, please.”

Summer smiled and got out two mugs, and poured the simmering tea with the requested honey and lemon on the side

“Thank you,” I said

“Thank you, summer.”

We sat in silence for a while. Summer is preparing a cup of tea of his own.

“How long?” summer said.

“What?” I asked, confused.

“How long has Darius been like this?”

I schooled my expression. “What do you mean?”

“I mean–” Summer started but stopped.

I raised a brow and waited.

“It's actually not my place, Alpha.”

My gaze turned suspicious after that, but I said nothing and continued to sip on the tea

We sat in a somewhat awkward silence, but thankfully there was no tension.

“So,” Herny spoke, breaking the silence. “Where’s Ayan?”

Summers brows furrow. “He should be here by now. He said he had to use the bathroom, but that was a while ago.”

“I can go check on him if you want?” Henry offered.

“I can do it, but thank you for the offer.”

No, no,” Henry said, getting up from the chair. “It's really no problem, let me.”

Summer was hesitant but nodded in acceptance. “Thank you.”

When Henry left the room that left me in summer, who continued to sip his tea, suddenly finding it very interesting.

“Why do you ask about Darius?”

He looked up. “It's not my place to pry.”

“Then you shouldn't have asked.”

“You're very protective over him.”

I said nothing and waited for my answer.

“I only ask because I'm concerned. Rumor has it that this isn't the first time he's gotten black drunk.”

“And you always listen to rumors.”

“No,” He sighed. “Which is why I’m asking a reliable source.”

I laugh a little. “And I find that very bold of you.”

“Bold?”

“Have you forgotten who I am, or do you think because Athine is your ‘daughter-in-law,’ you ask whoever and whatever you want?”

Summer just stared, small amounts of fear pouring into his scent.

Good.

“Know your place, Summer,” I ordered.

“My apologies, alpha.” He said, looking down.

I said nothing after that. We sat in an uncomfortable silence after that.

Uncomfortable for summer, I’m sure.

“Summer,” Henry said, walking back into the room. “You said Darius was here?”

“Yes.” He said slowly. “He is on the couch.”

Henry shook his head. “No, he’s not, and Ayan isn’t here either.”

“What do you mean?” I demand.

“I mean.” Henry met my gaze hea-on. “They are not here.”

Oh fuck.

*****

Ayan POV~

“Where are we going?”

I was ignored.

“Are you going to hurt me?”

More silence.

“When Aithne finds out—“

“Shut. Up.” Darius growled.”

“Are you going to hurt me?” I repeated.

“No.” He all but growled again.

“Then why take me out of my home? Why tie my wrist together.” I raised my hands. “like I’m a hostage?”

Silence filled the dense air of the forest. The quiet sounds of peeping insects and our feet breaking twigs as we went.

Right when I went to open my mouth to say something else, Darius finally Spoke.

“I want to show you something.”

“And you needed to force me out of my home to do so?”

“I wasn’t sure what I wanted at the time.”

My stomach drop at that. “What do you mean?”

“I wasn’t sure.”

“You wanna elaborate a bit more!” I snapped

“I wasn’t sure if I wanted to hurt you or show you.” He snapped right back.

I paled.

He was still deciding? I didn't say anything after that and continued walking to whatever destination Darius was taking me.

We walked for what felt like 30 minutes before we reached a waterfall.

The cliff of a waterfall.

“Darius.” I said, full of unease.

“Shhhhhhhhh, we just gonna talk,” he said, but something in his tone wasn't right.

I tried to make a run for it, but he caught me by the back of his neck.

“If you're trying to piss me off, it's working.” Darius seethes in my ear.

“Please don't kill me.” I whimper, tears filling my eyes

I was so fucking scared. I don't want to die.

“You won't.”

My head snaps to the new voice.

And relief slams into me. Aithne.

“Darius, I'm going to say this once. Release him.” Aithne said, growling.

But Darius had other plans. His hands moved from the back of my neck to the front.

He was malicious when he spoke.

“Now, why would I do that?”

My skin crawled at how close his lips got to my neck.

“I have you exactly where I want you.”

A scream tore through my lips as Darius pushed me towards the cliff.

Aithne's scream was barely audible to my ears. As I started to fall back, I tried to grab onto something, but all I could catch was air.

Everything was happening in slow motion, air rest, past my ears, as I fell back onto nothing.

I closed my eyes as reality hit me.

I was falling, and no one could save me.

I was going to die.

Please let it be quick

"You're so far up denial's ass I'm surprised you can still see the sun."

aithne snorted. "Good one, Ayan. Did you make that one up, or did you hear it when you were guzzling the elder's cock like a starved whore?"

I pouted, ".......that was mean."

Aithne leaned back on the island before smiling into her cup of coffee. "Don't dish it if you can't handle it, baby boy."

I walked up to her, wrapping my arm around her waist and laying my head on her chest." I can handle anything you throw at me." I raised my head briefly and smiled before resting my head back on her chest. "I am made for you."

Aithne wrapped her arms around me, running a hand up and down my back. "You're my gift from the goddess. I suppose."

"Yeah, I am."
