Nash nervously rose from his chair, trying to control his racing heartbeat.
Yesterday, he called the number Doug had given him and secured an interview for today.
It was now or never.
He entered the interviewer's room.
Three men awaited him there. Two alphas. One beta. The beta gave him a reassuring nod, and Nash felt slightly more at ease.
"Thanks for coming today. May you introduce yourself?"
Nash gave a polite smile.
" Good afternoon. Thanks for having me. My name is Nash Hayes.
"Mr. Hayes, so let's start discussing your qualifications. I've read your resume and it seems like you have ample experience in the field of"
"Yes, I've been in the field for three years..."
The interviewer then discussed Nash's qualifications and experiences, which he confidently elaborated on, demonstrating his knowledge and quick thinking. Everything seemed to be going well. That was the best interview he had in ages.
However, his hopes were dashed when one of the alpha interviewers abruptly interrupted him.
"Excuse me, Mr. Hayes, are you an omega?" he asked, looking Nash up and down.
Nash bit his lips. Shit, not again, he thought. He took a deep breath and tried to answer as calmly as he could.
"I don't know how this is relevant, but yes I am."
" I'm sorry, but I'll be honest with you, don't you think you may not be a good fit for this career? "
The male alpha interviewer looked up and down at Nash
"Nothing personal, but some people might see your gender as a disadvantage in this line of work. they might not take you seriously as a bodyguard or they might think that you're not strong enough to protect someone. Honestly, do you think you could handle the pressure and responsibilities associated with this job?"
'Just say that's what you think you bastard' Nash thought.
Nash clenched his fist and counted to ten, making an enormous effort to open his gritted teeth.
"With all due respect, sir. My gender has never been an issue in any of my previous assignments, and I have successfully protected my clients regardless of their gender or background. I've been trained in martial arts, self-defense, and conflict resolution, and I have a strong sense of duty and responsibility toward those I protect. "
"You should know that the one in need of protection is one very special client. Why do you think we should hire you instead of an alpha?"
As he cursed this damn alpha on his head Nash stood up and glared at the three interviewers with more confidence than he truly had.
"First of all, I would like to stress that my gender should not be a factor in my ability to protect someone. Being an omega actually has its advantages in this line of work. For example, there are some places where alphas are forbidden to enter, but as an omega, I can go in without raising any suspicion. I also have a keen sense of smell and can detect any potential danger before it becomes a threat. Furthermore, I have experience in dealing with difficult situations and can remain calm under pressure. Lastly, I am a dedicated and responsible person who takes my job seriously, and I will do everything in my power to ensure the safety and well-being of my client."
The alpha interviewer still looked skeptical, but before he could say anything else the beta spoke up.
"I have to agree with Mr. Hayes here. Being an omega doesn't make him any less qualified for the job. In fact, I think it gives him an advantage over other candidates, especially for this job"
"But-"
"James, enough"
The last of the interviewers finally spoke up. He was an imposing senior. Just one word from him and the annoying interviewer shut up. He looked into Nash's eyes and the omega firmly held his gaze.
"The results will be announced soon. Please go and wait with the other candidates."
Nash left the interview room with his head held high, knowing he had given it his all. He might not feel very hopeful, but he refused to give up. Whatever the results were, he was ready.
Nash is a tough and smart bodyguard, but he faces a difficult time finding a job due to his status as a male omega. However, when he is contracted as a bodyguard for the young master of the powerful Yaskov conglomerate, Andrius Yaskov, Nash sees an opportunity to prove his worth and earn a steady income.
