Nash felt his heart racing as he placed his hand on the door handle.
Today was his first day at work.
He and his new comrades had spent the last three months pushing themselves past their physical and mental limits. He remembered the burning pain in his muscles and the constant aches that threatened to bring him down. Despite his days in the underground arena--filled with blood and unyielding opponents-- Nash still felt chills when remembering the past three months of hell.
'Guess I'm not working for this big shot for nothing' he mused.
Stepping into the room, Nash took note of Andrius's disheveled appearance. The blonde omega's hair was loosely tied and flowed carelessly over his shoulders, and his clothes were rumpled. It was clear that Andrius hadn't slept much the night before.
Nash couldn't help but compare Andrius' current appearance to that of their first meeting when he looked like a model from a magazine. But for some reason, Nash found himself preferring this more natural look.
'What am I thinking?' Nash shook his head to clear his thoughts.
He positioned himself strategically in the room, taking in all possible entry points and keeping a watchful eye on his employer. As a Yaskov subordinate, the first rule was to act silently and swiftly, and the second was to not speak unless spoken to.
Nash found the silence comforting, although he knew his fellow bodyguard Max would have been fidgeting by now. Over the last three months, Nash had grown close to the bubbly beta, who was always full of energy.
Nash and Max had been chosen to closely follow Andrius as his bodyguards since they wouldn't react to Omega's pheromones. The two would take turns as Andrius' companions, ensuring that no undesirable accidents occurred.
Nash smiled as he wondered how Max would cope without being able to speak for hours straight.
Two hours later, a knock on the door finally broke the silence. It was Alex, Andrius' secretary. He was also one of the three interviewers for the bodyguard job.
"Mr. Yaskov, here's today's schedule" Alex handed Andrius a file which the omega quickly scanned through.
"Thank you, Alex," Andrius replied, his voice slightly hoarse from lack of sleep. Nash watched as Andrius leaned back in his chair and rubbed his temples. He could see the stress written all over Andrius's face. His eyes also seemed to have a hint of... unwillingness?
Andrius clicked his tongue.
Before he could stop himself, Nash blurted:
"Is everything alright, sir?" he asked, keeping his tone neutral. But when he realized what he'd done, he scolded himself mentally.
'Danm Nash, what the hell are you thinking? On the first day on the job, and already breaking the rules!'
Luckily his employer didn't seem to mind. Andrius looked up at him, his blue eyes meeting Nash's gaze.
"Yes, everything is fine," he said curtly.
Nash didn't believe him. He could see worry in Andrius' eyes. But he didn't say anything else. He shouldn't have said anything from the beginning. Luckily, Mr. Yaskov seemed to ignore his slip of the tongue
"Very well, sir," Nash replied, taking a step back.
For the next two hours, Andrius resumed his work. But he looked incredibly annoyed. At 11 a.m. he finally got up and headed back to his quarters. Nash hurriedly followed up and waited for Andrius at the door.
After a few minutes, Andrius emerged from his quarters, looking stunning. He had changed into a fitted black suit that accentuated his lean figure and striking features. Nash couldn't help but feel a little envious of Andrius' natural beauty. Andrius noticed Nash's stare and raised an eyebrow.
"Is there something on my face?" he asked coolly. Nash quickly averted his gaze and shook his head.
"No, sorry, sir. You just look very impressive."
Andrius offered a half-hearted smile. His mood seemed to have improved and he said
"You certainly have an eye for things."
As they walked, his phone rang. He answered it gruffly, a hint of annoyance in his voice as he spoke briefly. The atmosphere around them chilled as Andrius's mood dropped faster than it had risen.
After hanging up, he turned towards Nash, speaking in an icy tone.
"Prepare the car. I have to be at Devon's for lunch today".
"Yes sir. May I ask who we are meeting today?" Nash couldn't contain his curiosity and ended up asking.
Nash is a tough and smart bodyguard, but he faces a difficult time finding a job due to his status as a male omega. However, when he is contracted as a bodyguard for the young master of the powerful Yaskov conglomerate, Andrius Yaskov, Nash sees an opportunity to prove his worth and earn a steady income.
Andrius is a man with a cold demeanor and is full of secrets. He is used to keeping a guarded attitude to protect himself and his family business. But a silly omega keeps trying to enter his heart. Andrius begins to rely on Nash's strength and intelligence, until he slowly becomes attached to the omega bodyguard.
Will Nash be able to unravel the secrets that surround his new employer, or will the danger prove too great for even our omega bodyguard to handle?
