"BRING IT PURPLE RAIJIN! SHOW ME WHAT YOU'VE GOT" shouted Adam while getting into a combat stance, tens of force fields appeared circling around him. It was as if he had tens of mighty shields floating around him, following his will.

Michael didn't move an inch. He only looked coldly at Adam.

BANG! CRK!

Suddenly an iron sand spear shot from the ground right beside Adam, ignoring all his defenses. Adam barely had time to conjure a force field to protect himself, which cracked from the force of impact. Before Adam could get ahold of the situation, more iron and spikes shot from the ground.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Adam quickly dodged the iron sand spike however more spikes appeared. 'He can summon his ability even from so far away, and even in my own range. Truly impressive.' Adam thought while smirking as he continued dodging the iron sand spikes.

Michael only looked as Adam continued dodging the spikes while being pushed back. Then he began walking towards Seth and Mayla who led on the floor. The debris and plasma balls followed him.

Whooosh! BOOOOOOOM!

With a wave of his hand, Michael sent one of the plasma balls towards Adam to make sure he kept away. Adam had time to defend however he was sent flying further away by the explosion. Just one of the plasma balls exhibited so much destructive power as an almost fully loaded Step 5 Control Stage esper attack.

Michael's body was wrapped in lightning as he took the next step. With a single step, he advanced around a hundred meters in the blink of an eye as his body became a lightning blur. He arrived beside Mayla and Seth almost instantly. He kneeled beside Seth who had almost fainted because of the pain and extended an arm. Little lightning bolts left his hand and touched Seth's right arm.

Bzzz

Seth sighed in relief as the pain he felt from his broken arm disappeared.

"This will do it for now, your arm is not healed but you won't feel any pain for the time being. You did well while I was away. Now I need you to take care of your mother while I'm finished with this. However, in the worst-case scenario, I'll need you to run. Get it?" said Michael as he kneeled next to Mayla

"Y-yes," Seth said

Michael pressed his hand on Mayla's back. Harmless lightning bolts began flowing through Mayla's body. 'This looks worse than I thought, her ability damaged her body too much. I need to finish this quickly and take her to the lab' he looked at Adam. 'Something doesn't feel right about all this, even if they were four step 5 espers they shouldn't have been able to overpower Mayla to the point she had to push herself this far. Not only that but Adam is still undamaged. Was she that overpowered by them?'

"Seth, listen to me carefully," Michael said, turning to Seth while he stood up.

Suddenly the scene changed, and Michael now was lying on the ground. His body was covered in his own blood and a big hole could be seen in his chest. Seth was next to him, he was silent as his father was telling him something, his mouth moving weakly. Adam was nowhere to be seen and Mayla's almost unrecognizable body was lying on the floor some distance away.

"I believe in you. I love you son" those were his last words. His eyes lost their light as life left his body.

Seth didn't move at all, even though tears were running down his cheeks, he was silent. A feeling of darkness filled the air.

BAAAANG!

A mighty white lightning shot from the sky at Seth, however, it didn't harm him. As it touched the ground it separated into two lightning pillars that connected the earth to the sky. Both lightning pillars began circling Seth, almost as if they were dancing around him. Gray mighty clouds began gathering above Seth until they filled the whole sky.

Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!

The rumble of thunder could be heard coming from the clouds and lightning bolts could be seen shooting through them. Some more lightning strikes reached the ground, however, unlike the lightning pillars dancing around Seth, they quickly dissipated in the air.

This was the world answering to this new esper's birth. This was the world kneeling before him, offering him his power. All the world's lightning belonged to this new esper. This was Seth's awakening.

"Tsk" Seth gritted his teeth "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" and he finally broke down.

Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!

The whole world cried with him while the lightning around him became more violent. The lightning bolts shooting through the clouds illuminated the night's darkness and thunder was all that could be heard.

Stand up new god, and embrace the darkness

Stand up, and destroy this rotten existence

Seth slowly stood up. His white hair began lifting up as small electric bolts shot through it. He opened his eyes, and these were shining white, and electric bolts shot out from them as well as from all his body.

Bang! Bang!

Lightning bolts shot out from Seth to the ground, creating little craters. His lightning began shining with more power as slowly, white godly lightning wings began forming on his back and a complex halo, a circle with four points in each direction, formed above his head.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The lightning strikes became more violent as they constantly hit the ground with great power.

Seth looked at his mother's almost unrecognizable body.

BANG!

Lightning shot from him to the ground, forming his wings further

_Nor a happy ending story_

He looked at his father's destroyed, dead body

BANG! BANG! BANG!

More lightning shot from Seth to the ground, creating more craters. His wings were almost fully formed by now.

"Tsk! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Seth let out another pained cry and the world went crazy as lightning shot around everywhere.

Suddenly, all lightning dissipated from the surroundings as Seth passed out.
