Everyone can’t help but notice that there is something different about Sage, and it has everything to do with his new bodyguard. Sage seems to have a new pep in his walk, and a big grin on his face even though he is dealing with a stalker that is basically trying to destroy his life. Dominic, nor Sage, have brought up the kiss that happened at the club, and Sage really doesn’t know how to bring it up because Dominic seems to be acting the same way, like nothing had happened between them.
Sage can’t help but feel like he is getting closer to Dominic and making progress, but there’s also that wall there that makes him a little nervous, and makes him feel like he doesn’t know Dominic at all. But what has really been bothering him is the mask that Dominic wears, and why he is wearing it.
Although he had been intoxicated, Sage could feel the scars on Dominic’s face and it concerns him a little bit. He knows that Dominic obviously has a past, that much he could easily tell, but to hide the scars with clothing and a mask?
That’s not something that Sage would see every day.
“Good work today, Sage.” Director Hans tells Sage with a big grin on his face as Sage tries to rest, “It seems to me that you were really in the zone, and I can’t help but wonder whose making you this way.”
Sage’s cheeks turn a little red, looking away, “I don’t know what you’re talking about, Director Hans. Nothing has changed if you ask me.”
“Uh huh.” It is obvious that Director Hans does not believe Sage, shrugging his shoulders, “lets do one final shoot and then we will be done for the day. We are more than ahead when it comes to timing, and soon, your co-star will be here so we can shoot the couple scenes. I think you’ll like him, he is a little newer in the acting field like you, so I hope that you’ll help him out the best way that you can.”
Sage nods his head, knowing what it was like to be new, and starting as a lead actor, “of course, Director Hans, I will help him out the best way that I can.”
Director Hans looks pleased, and motions Sage to get back on set so they can shoot the next scene. Director Hans is very pleased with how much Sage has been able to adapt since the first movie. Everyone tried to say that Sage being a new actor wouldn’t have the means of being able to handle an intense movie play, and would end up dropping out. Director Hans put all of his faith in Sage though, and it has paid off for the better.
And with the co-star, Director Hans knows that everything is going to go well, and one way or another, they will all have a legacy. He is unsure of how Dominic is going to react at the certain scenes that Sage is going to have to do during the film shootings, but he just hopes that Sage is going to be able to calm the scary man down. He really doesn’t need a fight breaking out on set.
That’s not going to make good headlines.
Of course, things have to happen that destroys everything that Director Hans has worked for.
“Director, the co-star has been badly injured in a car wreck!” One of the men come rushing forward, looking really grief-stricken, “no one is sure what had happened, but it seems like someone struck the car on purpose. He is not going to be able to film for a few months.”
“FUCK!” Director Hans yells, dragging a hand through his messy hair, “where am I going to find someone to replace him who semi-looks like him? We’re going to have to stop the shooting for today so I can figure it out.”
Sage frowns, a little worried about his now ex co-star, “how terrible. I hope he heals well, and they find the person who has done this.”
Director Hans takes Sage’s hands, smiling softly, “thank you, Sage. Just go home and get some sleep, I will handle everything here. We might have to put off shooting for a few days, but it won’t put us too far behind. Just make sure to keep up with your practicing, okay?”
“Of course, Director Hans, I hope everything works out for you.” Sage murmurs, wondering if Dominic and him would be able to go to the beach then since he’s no doubt going to have a few days off.
Sage doesn’t wait for a response as he turns around and walks towards Dominic who is waiting patiently, his arms crossed over his chest. As Sage gets closer, Dominic’s eyes drift to him, and it makes Sage’s heart stumble along in his chest, feeling a little nervous.
“Filming is done for the day.” Sage explains, wondering what Dominic is going to want to do “just follow me and maybe go to the café down the street. I’m a little hungry for some sweets.”
Dominic wordlessly nods which isn’t a surprise much to Sage anymore. Sage and Dominic head out to the car, Dominic making sure that nothing suspicious is going on around them before he gets in the car as well. In silence, the only thing playing is the music coming from the radio as they head towards the café. Sage can’t help but peek at Dominic, curious as to why Dominic has his lower face covered all the time.
“Hey, Dominic, why do you wear the mask all the time?” Sage asks curiously, “I know what I felt the other night, but I want you to know that you don’t have to hide anything from me. I’m not going to judge, and I want you to be as comfortable with me as possible.”
Dominic puts the car in park in front of the little café, turning his body slightly to just stare at Sage now. Sage’s heart is thumping erratically in his chest, wondering what Dominic is going to do next but he just hopes that Dominic isn’t going to get angry with him. Dominic finally lets out a soft sigh, and much to Sage’s surprise, he lifts his hands and starts to remove his mask.
“Wait, you don’t have to-“ Sage starts to protest, but it is too late.
Dominic lets the mask fall from his face, and Sage freezes, his heart hurting as he sees the scars marring Dominic’s handsome face. Dominic’s lips are soft and full, but he has jagged marks coming from both corners of his mouth, as if someone had taken a knife to his face and slit his mouth open. Sage’s heart hurts because he hates seeing Dominic this way, but he sees then as Dominic is avoiding his gaze, as if Dominic thinks that Sage is going to be repulsed by him or something.
Sage unbuckles his seatbelt and leans over the middle dash, cupping Dominic’s handsome face in his hands as he leans in, gently kissing the scars before moving to press his lips against Dominic’s, holding it there for a split second before he pulls back. He sees a weird look in Dominic’s eyes, but he decides not to push it for now.
“When you’re ready, you can tell me.” Sage promises before he pulls back, allowing Dominic to put back on his mouth.
Sage doesn’t even care now if anybody sees.
