G.O.DS (Global Organization of Defense) (Realms of the Eleven Aspects: G.O.DS' point of view)

Chapter 2: Hero or Villain (Part 2)

Chapter 2: Hero or Villain (Part 2)

Mar 22, 2023

Despite its large size and heavy appearance, Erdyn could carry this briefcase with only one hand without difficulty. Something was constantly active in it, which made its surroundings have some kind of heat distortion on its part that faces the floor surface. He pressed one of the buttons merged to its handle, and it then reacted. This briefcase transformed into another shape in such a way, quickly, forming a large shield with a height that almost matched his height.

This shield had sharp dove wing carvings on the upper right and left edges and black crow wing carvings with detailed embossing on the central part of the shield surface, and its bottom part was shaped like an obtuse triangle. On the side parts of this triangle was an additional thicker part, with chainsaw chain blades covered by a metal cover that could open automatically. At the top of this large shield was an additional long sword hilt with its blade merged into this shield.

Erdyn took out his night vision goggles. He observed the dozens of personnel spread out in this factory hall while aiming their guns cautiously in various directions. After observing for a moment to determine the point of attack, Erdyn emerged from his hiding place, carrying his large shield.

Erdyn ran over to a group of personnel at this factory and smashed his shield into one of the army personnel, causing him to be thrown several meters and crash into one of the assembly machines. Erdyn’s attack made the dozens of other people here realize his presence. One of the soldiers shouted.

“Damn it, shoot him!”

He fired his assault rifle at Erdyn, followed by several others, and some of the others appeared to hesitate. With good reflexes, Erdyn positioned his large shield before him and blocked the enemies’ fire. Every shot couldn’t penetrate this shield, and the bullets bounced everywhere, causing many of them to became hesitate and pause their shots.

Erdyn dashed toward another enemy, smashed his shield against one of them, knocked him away, and smashed the enemy next to him. The effect of this shield attack on everyone hit by it was as if they were hit by a car because of the weight and speed of this shield, but Erdyn wielded it without the slightest difficulty or drawback. Seeing Erdyn defeat three people just like that caused all these personnel to be more alert and try to surround Erdyn.

They continued to shoot at Erdyn from all directions while maintaining their distance so as not to be hit by their reflected bullets. Erdyn moved back away carefully while aiming his shield precisely to parry every shot that came his way. Everyone here appeared to be starting to feel that Erdyn was being pressured.

Erdyn pulled the sword hilt from the top of his shield. This sword hilt was an extension of a long sword merged with this shield. Erdyn drew this long sword; it separated gradually and quickly from the shield, causing a sound like rapid tapping between metals, until finally, it pulled off completely and detached from the shield. This single-edged long sword was modified with a large-caliber rifle, a long barrel with an unusual shape with sharp carvings, and a large bullet roller like the one on the revolver as the crossguard.

The length of the rifle part of this long sword was equal to the height of Erdyn’s shield, while the length of the sword blade was longer. This weapon combined the large-caliber rifle on one side, ornately carved in detail, and a sharp single-edged sword on the other. Erdyn fired this rifle toward one of the enemies and hit, causing the enemy to be knocked back hard and fall, unable to stand up. It turned out that the bullets used by Erdyn were replaced with rubber bullets.

Erdyn moved forward while firing his sword rifle and taking cover behind his large shield. Erdyn’s precision shots hit many enemies who were unprepared for these sudden attacks and fell. The closer Erdyn got to them, the more powerful the results of the shot were, to the point that one shot from Erdyn’s sword rifle could incapacitate one person, knock them back, and cause them to fall unconscious. Erdyn crashed his shield harder into one of the assembly machines, causing it to break slightly and detach from its holder on the floor; it then hit hard one of the personnel in a suit who was taking cover behind it, knocking the enemy back, who then fell unconscious.

Several enemies were still falling and unable to stand up; Erdyn shot them again and made them fall unconscious. Erdyn ran fast and crashed his shield on one of the enemies while shooting his sword rifle at another enemy at almost the same time, knocking them out simultaneously. Erdyn appeared to have no intention of using his sharp sword to attack his enemies.

Erdyn’s very well-trained frontal attack left only five of his enemies, including Hardy, who was shocked while continuing to aim his handgun at Erdyn. The five immediately moved from their places and spread out to take cover behind the concrete pillars, computers, or assembly machines, as well as Hardy, who was taking cover behind one of the concrete pillars. Erdyn readjusted his strategy and blended into the darkness. Each of the remaining enemies pointed their gun’s flashlights in all directions but did not find Erdyn.

Sometime later, one of them was caught off guard and then hit by Erdyn firmly on the nape from behind and fell unconscious. Due to the darkness, they were confused about who was being attacked, catching them off guard. Erdyn’s similar attack incapacitated them one by one, and only Hardy was left. Seeing this unusual condition, Hardy came out of hiding and aimed his gun, which was equipped with a flashlight, in all directions, with a serious, mixed with panic expression as he thought.

“Damn, where is that maniac….”

Hardy was silent in his place; for some reason, the atmosphere became very quiet. Hardy aimed his handgun in various directions more calmly until finally, Hardy appeared to realize something.

Hardy immediately turned around and found that Erdyn had closed the distance with him. Hardy aimed his gun at Erdyn, but Erdyn, who was already very close, could attack Hardy first with Erdyn’s weapon, which had returned to a large briefcase shape. Erdyn hit Hardy’s gun with his large briefcase; Hardy’s gun was thrown away, and he appeared to be in pain in his hand that had been holding the gun.

Erdyn’s surprise attack caught Hardy off guard, and he pushed his briefcase toward Hardy. Hardy tried to push back, but for some reason, Erdyn was still able to push him without the slightest difficulty and with a deadpan expression, while Hardy was unable to push back at all with a serious expression. Hardy’s back hit hard one of the concrete pillars behind him, and he coughed. Hardy was pinned between the pillar behind him and Erdyn’s large briefcase in front of him. Erdyn looked at Hardy’s eyes with a serious expression.

“Let me get straight to the point; what do you all want?”

Hardy tried to push back with a troubled expression, but couldn’t, and his breath started falling short.

“Urgh, you misunderstood; we’re not enemies.”

Erdyn’s expression turned astonished; he hit Hardy’s neck firmly with his hand, causing Hardy to lose consciousness. He paid attention to his surroundings and made sure the situation was safe. He took out his smartphone from inside the pocket behind his overcoat and used it to turn off the electric disturbance device. Soon after, the electricity in this factory building was turned back on, and the lights and computers here were then back on gradually and quickly.

Sometime later, Hardy, who was unconscious, was tied up while sitting on a chair, and dozens of his comrades were also tied up and unconscious while sitting on the floor and leaning against the wall. The computers here have restarted, and Erdyn tried to operate them. Erdyn found that these computers had a security system that must be bypassed. However, the screen didn’t display a place that could be filled in with a password, making Erdyn’s expression turn astonished. Erdyn connected his smartphone to the computer, and the program on his smartphone began trying to unlock its security. However, it then experienced technical issues and couldn’t bypass them at all. Erdyn was slightly surprised; his expression then turned astonished.

“Why is this program not successful….”

Erdyn tried to rerun the program a few times but was still unsuccessful. His expression turned slightly annoyed, and he turned to Hardy, still unconscious.

Erdyn walked over to the water dispensers and filled a nearby bucket with water. Erdyn brought a bucket full of water toward Hardy and then splashed it on his face. Hardy woke up with a jolt and coughed from choking on the water. With a tormented expression, Hardy was trying to regain his consciousness.

“Urgh… dammit, this is why I want to retire from this job.”

Erdyn’s expression turned serious.

“Tell me how to bypass these computers’ security.”

Hardy turned to Erdyn and looked at him with an astonished expression. Hardy smirked.

“Calm down, why not a little pleasantry?”

In recent years, many disasters on Earth have been caused by people with powers beyond those of ordinary humans. A secret organization, G.O.DS. (Global Organization of Defense), was established through secret agreements between Nations worldwide and tasked with maintaining peace on Earth from the shadows. But when the greatest threat appeared, even all of their extraordinary resources couldn't overcome it. The situation reached its peak when someone who was called "The Most Powerful Superhero" turned Villain. G.O.DS tries to gather other sides willing to put aside their differences to work against him. But unbeknownst to them, G.O.DS may not be what they think... above all that, other threats were waiting for them... (G.O.DS was a novel that covered some part of the "Realms of the Eleven Aspects" story from the G.O.DS’ point of view.)

"Are you ready to reveal the secrets of Eleven Aspects?"

This novel chapter was released alternately with my other novels, which were released every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (similar to a manga magazine on my Patreon), and all of these novels could also be considered one novel as a whole (Realms of the Eleven Aspects novel) from multiple point of views. I’ll try to release more if possible because I’m still continuing to develop these novels, things like which of these should I prioritize to focus on, or should I continue to develop them together?

If you find that one of my novel titles hasn’t been updated for some time, please check the other ones currently being updated (please visit my Patreon page for more information)

For now, the chapter release time might sometimes be late, because I’m still adjusting the time, but I’ll make sure to update at least three new chapters a week. I realize that this project needs to become my full-time job to develop it further and better. I greatly appreciate your support to help me in that regard. If you think there's anything I need to improve, please let me know ^^
