"Mr. Yaskov, it's a pleasure to conduct business with you."
"Likewise"
James, Andrius's second secretary led the satisfied guest away, leaving Andrius and Nash alone in the office.
Throughout the brief period that Nash had been serving as the Yaskov heir's protector, he had uncovered some unsettling truths about the Yaskov group. Despite appearing composed on the surface, the company has been struggling with financial setbacks ever since Andrius's grandfather fell ill. Many of their subordinate companies had reported losses, adding to the group's financial woes. Moreover, there were rumors everywhere about internal power struggles and widespread corruption within the company's ranks. Several groups had set their sights on the Yaskov group, eager to get a piece of this large, fat piece of meat. Amid this turmoil, Andrius assumed control of the conglomerate, and it was clear that he was doing everything in his power to keep it afloat.
It was hard to believe that this man was just 22 years old, three years younger than him.
But despite his best efforts, Andrius was still not taken seriously by some of the other alphas in the industry. Nash had seen it firsthand, how some of them would belittle or try to harass him.
Even so, Andrius never backed off, always confronting his opponents with his wits until they submitted. In the short time, Nash worked for the Yaskov heir, he had witnessed Andrius' intelligence and decisiveness on numerous occasions, and it had left him in awe. He couldn't help but feel a deep admiration for the omega heir, who had worked three times as hard as any alpha in the business world to prove himself. As the bodyguard stood watching outside Andrius' office, he couldn't help but think about how lucky he was to be working for such an extraordinary person.
He wanted to see how this man conquered the business world.
"Sir, please drink." Nash offered Andrius water, which he accepted gladly.
"Are you feeling okay, sir?" Nash asked, noticing the exhaustion in Andrius' eyes.
Andrius nodded, taking a sip of water. "Just a bit tired," he admitted. "But it's nothing I can't handle."
Nash could see the exhaustion in Andrius' eyes, but he also saw something else. A spark of determination and strength that refused to be erased. It was that strength that made Nash admire Andrius even more.
The two had just relaxed for a while before they heard a commotion outside. Nash jumped in front of Andrius, ready to protect him from whatever danger might be lurking. His heart raced with adrenaline as he waited for the commotion to reach them.
As the sound grew closer, Nash's muscles tensed and he clenched his fists, ready to fight if necessary. He glanced over at Andrius, who looked calm but concerned.
Suddenly, the office doors opened. An overweight middle-aged man of average height advanced unbridled through the room, pushing the poor secretary who attempted to block his path.
The man bellowed in a fit of fury, his eyes bloodshot with anger. "Andrius, what do you mean?" he demanded, his voice reverberating off the walls.
Andrius' eyes darkened with displeasure, and he cast a sharp glare toward his staff outside. "Who let him in?" he demanded.
One of the secretaries flinched and spoke timidly. "Mr. Zhao said that this gentleman was your father."
Andrius' eyes turned icy, and the atmosphere in the room mirrored his displeasure. "Didn't I explicitly state that no one should enter without my authorization?" he questioned sternly.
"STOP IGNORING ME, ANDRIUS!" the man thundered, his rage intensifying.
"What are you doing here?" Andrius asked sharply.
"WHY DID YOU FIRE DUNCAN?"
"Why? Do you even need to ask?" the Yaskov heir said, his voice iced. "Corruption, over-billing, and sexual harassment of his subordinates. Isn't that reason enough?"
"HE IS YOUR BROTHER!"
Andrius squinted his eyes, and the staff behind the door began to shrink back. Even Nash almost took a step back, sensing the blonde man's fury.
"Brother? I don't remember my mother giving birth to any other child but me," he retorted sharply.
"You-" the man pointed his finger accusingly.
"YOU-" the man pointed his finger.
"Me what? Do you think I don't know what you and your relatives have been doing while I was away? Or did you think you could keep with your greedy behavior without consequences?" Andrius spat "Let me tell you, now that I'm back none of you can get away. "
"YOU! HOW DO YOU DARE TO TALK TO ME LIKE THAT?"
The man rushed towards Andrius. But before he could do anything, Nash acted swiftly, tackling the man to the ground and restraining him. Andrius looked down at the man with disdain. "Pathetic," he said coldly. "I don't know what you were expecting by coming here, but you're not welcome. I suggest you leave before I call the police."
"Father? You have a strange way of showing it," he said sarcastically.
The man continued to struggle, but Nash's grip was too strong. "Let me go! Let me go, you brute!" he shouted.
Andrius shook his head in disappointment.
"I can't believe you would stoop this low," he said. "But I shouldn't be surprised. After everything you and your family have been doing in the last few years."
The man stopped struggling, his face turning red with anger. "You don't know what you're talking about," he said through gritted teeth. "Don't I?" Andrius said calmly. "I know all about your little schemes, your attempts to take control of the company. But it won't work. I won't let you ruin everything my grandfather built."
The man glared at Andrius, his eyes full of hate. "You think you're so smart, don't you? But you're just an omega, playing with being a businessman. You'll never be able to run this company on your own."
Andrius smiled coldly. "Is that so? Well, I guess we'll just have to see about that, won't we?"
The man struggled. Nash tightened his grip and the man groaned in pain.
Andrius got closer to the man on the ground and whispered something in his ear. The man paled, staring at Andrius in disbelief.
Andrius turned his back on him, dismissing him with a wave of his hand. The staff behind the door exchanged looks of shock and fear, unsure of how to react. Soon, new steps were heard. It was the company's security staff who finally arrived at the scene.
"Come and take out the trash," Andrius ordered, his tone brooking no argument. "And make sure it doesn't happen again."
As the staff took the man from Nash's hand and closed the door, Andrius turned back to his desk, took a deep breath, and straightened his tie. "Let's get back to work," he said to Nash, his voice steady and determined. "We have a lot to do." Nash nodded in agreement. He couldn't help but think that what the man, who claimed to be Andrius' father, said was wrong.
Andrius Yaskov was a force to be reckoned with, and Nash did not doubt that he would go on to achieve great things in the business world.
