As Clover and Grady fell towards the swamp, they braced themselves for impact. Just as they were about to hit the ground, Clover managed to summon a burst of light, creating a cushion beneath them that absorbed the impact of their landing.
"Nice one, Clover!" Grady said with a hint of fear in his voice.
"Thanks. But did you hear that explosion, it sounded like a cannon?" Clover asked.
"I don't know," Grady said, shaking his head. "But I have a feeling that something went wrong."
Just then, they heard Jack's voice echoing around them.
"Hello, Clover and Grady. I'm sorry to say that the training room has been damaged. The only way for you to leave is to complete the test and find the gemstone. Good luck!" Jack's voice faded.
Clover frowned. "That doesn't explain anything. What happened?"
"I don't know," Grady repeated. "But we have to focus on finding the gemstone and getting out of here. We can worry about what happened later."
He pointed towards a group of plant creatures emerging from the muck, their limbs stretching towards them with menacing intent.
Clover drew her sword, ready to fight. "Let's take them down!"
Grady summoned his Crystal Wyvern, it began to enchant their weapons. After spending all its mana, it disappeared.
The two charged towards the creatures, their swords glinting with light. As they fought, they could feel the weight of the battle wear on them, their muscles straining as they parried and struck. But they kept pushing forward.
Clover and Grady worked in tandem, their fighting styles complementing each other perfectly. Clover darted in with swift strikes, her light magic imbuing her sword with a radiant glow that burned through the plant monsters' thick foliage. Meanwhile, Grady used his shadow magic to create illusions that disoriented their enemies, leaving them vulnerable to Clover's attacks.
The monsters were relentless, their vines lashing out with surprising speed and force. But Clover and Grady kept their cool, dodging and parrying with skill and precision. With each strike, they whittled away at the creatures' defenses, their swords carving through leaves and vines with ease.
As the battle wore on, Clover began to feel the strain of exertion. But she didn't let it slow her down. Instead, she summoned all her remaining energy and unleashed a burst of light magic that engulfed the monsters in a blinding radiance. The creatures let out a collective shriek and began to wither away, their bodies turning to ash in the bright light.
Grady smiled at Clover, impressed by her display of power. "Nice one! You really know how to light up a room."
Clover chuckled, feeling a rush of relief and satisfaction. "Let's get out of here, we need to find a place to hide before more monsters show up."
As they trudged through the mucky swamp, Clover and Grady couldn't shake the feeling of unease. Jack was their mentor, and the thought of him being in danger weighed heavily on their minds. But they knew that there was nothing they could do for him.
And so Clover and Grady continued to push forward. Their eyes scanning for any potential dangers.
The story follows Clover, a young Bunny orphan haunted by the memory of her parents' murder, as she navigates her daily life and discovers a unique gift. When strange occurrences happen at the neighboring town's borders, Clover sets out on a journey with her friend Grady to investigate.
