(Mild violence, animal abuse (I guess??), and child abuse. Original character, unestablished world.)
Irritation spiked in his body as he heard the fluttering of that obscene bird yet again. It simply refused to exit the room it had been trapped in. The window had been open throughout the day due to the incredible heat. It had been sunny all day and finally due to the evening approach it had begun to cool down. A brief breeze passed through the room. Again that damned bird! Fluttering around bumping into things in its panic. His sister tried to lead it out but yelped as it pecked at her. She backed out of the room, gesturing in exasperation for him to take care of it instead. He stepped forward grasping the bird in a swift motion, he was simply enraged at its freedom. The bird's feathers had a color akin to his bright teal eyes with yellow at the end of its ruffled feathers. Its beady eyes looked at him with false hatred. That bird that was so free, that had the wings to fly away from it all. Yet it couldn't use them to get out of such confinement. It didn't deserve such freedom, never. Never would he get away and never would that bird fly again.
Its hollow bones cracked between his thin fingertips. It flailed in his hands yet he didn't budge until it broke and stopped working. His sister's horrified screams were dull as he opened his hands exhilarated at the bloody creature lying there. His sister jostled him, the bird falling away from his bloody hands. He reached out for it but was promptly dragged away from the room. He was sat in his room on the bed as she screamed at him. Her cries fell on deaf ears. A swift slap to the face jerked him out of his head. In response he looked up at her, a grin plastered across his face. Her rage boiled over as she grappled him by the hair and dragged him down the stairs before swiftly kicking him until he stumbled out the door. The door slammed behind him and he could hear the locks click into place. He rubbed at the rug burns left on his bare legs before skipping down the front stairs into the dim, crowded streets full of people heading home for the day.
