Erdyn’s expression turned deadpan. He grabbed Hardy’s collar and was about to hit him, but he stopped when Hardy immediately continued speaking.
“Alright, wait, okay, I’ll tell you how to bypass that computer’s security; no need to be rough.”
Erdyn released his grip from Hardy’s collar. Hardy’s expression turned slightly astonished.
“The computers here are encrypted with a certain pattern engraved on my badge. You can get it inside the pocket behind my jacket.”
Erdyn checked Hardy’s pocket behind his jacket and found a wallet containing a silver metal badge shaped like a symbol with words on its surface. Erdyn’s expression turned astonished, and he appeared unfamiliar with it. Hardy resumed speaking.
“You need to point that badge in front of that computer, and it will be scanned automatically by the scanner device.”
Hardy spoke while looking at the computer with many monitors nearby. Erdyn’s attention was then drawn to those computers, and so was the badge in his hand.
“What symbol is this? Which organizations are you from?”
Hardy replied casually.
“Isn’t it obvious? There are some words on it.”
Erdyn’s expression turned astonished.
“Yeah, whatever.”
Erdyn pointed this badge in front of the computer, and a scanner reacted, emitting a light that shone on it to scan it. This scanner was merged into these monitors’ support metal frames and wasn’t easy to find.
Shortly after, the security on these computer systems was unlocked. The computer system restarted, and Erdyn looked at each of the dozens of monitor screens with a curious expression as he thought.
“Why are they observing using these many monitors….”
Shortly after, these monitors showed computer systems, communication, and the recording of surveillance cameras from various cities in various parts of the world. Several screens showed the recording of some surveillance cameras from this city. Erdyn’s expression turned astonished as he watched what was displayed on these monitors for some time. His expression turned disturbed.
“What is this am I seeing? Freaks?”
Hardy’s expression turned astonished.
“Don’t forget that you are also being observed through those monitors….”
Erdyn turned to Hardy with a serious expression.
“What do you all want….”
Hardy’s expression turned deadpan.
“No need to feel disturbed; we just got a supervisory duty and will report the results to the central command.”
Erdyn’s expression turned astonished.
“You evaluate something from all of this?”
Hardy nodded.
“Yes, all of this is to evaluate whether you fall into the enemy category or not.”
Erdyn’s expression turned deadpan.
“Then?”
Hardy’s expression turned doubtful.
“That’s all I know. This matter is actually top secret. I and my comrades don’t even know the real purpose of what we do. There is still no further task and no further explanation either.…”
Erdyn looked even more astonished. Hardy’s expression showed if something was bothering him. Erdyn looked at all the monitors and tried to count how many subjects were being observed on these monitors. He found that dozens of subjects were being observed, each with several monitors for observation, including him. From the point of view of the videos on these monitors, the subjects were recorded through public surveillance cameras, which were usually scattered in various places, as well as one or several drones. Erdyn furrowed his brow as if something was bothering him.
“Are they even human?”
Hardy replied.
“As you can see, you are not the only one, but there are dozens of subjects that we’re observing.”
Erdyn looked back at the monitors and realized something.
“Aren’t some of them currently being heavily reported on TV?”
Hardy replied.
“You mean, unlike you, some of them dare to act openly?”
Erdyn smirked.
“So, you were telling me that you all were not enemies when trying to determine if I was?”
Hardy’s expression turned serious.
“I say that because I have confirmed that you are not an enemy.”
Erdyn grinned.
“Not an enemy, you say? Interesting… maybe I can wait to see what will happen next.”
Shortly after, Erdyn heard something, like the roar of a machine, although it was still a bit faintly. This sound immediately attracted Erdyn and Hardy’s attention. Hardy appeared familiar with that.
“Those are reinforcements for my team; it’s up to you whether you want to wait here or not.”
Erdyn looked at Hardy with a deadpan expression; he then smirked.
“I’ll be going for now. Next time you have business with me, meet me in person.”
Erdyn walked away and left this place. Hardy watched Erdyn’s departure with a deadpan expression.
Shortly after, a VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) plane for personnel carriers, in the form of a huge fighter jet with main wings and tail wings, which had an annular frame with a propeller in the center on all four wings, allowing it to hover. Two jet engines in the tail in the form of two parallelograms. This aircraft was covered with additional thin but sturdy armor pieces on its body, which could be automatically opened and closed or shifted in such a way as to hide its weapons, such as missiles, cannons, and rotary cannons, some of which were installed under the main wing.
The aircraft cockpit was quite spacious, designed for four people, consisting of the pilot, copilot, and two additional assistants and weapons controllers, allowing multiple weapons to be used simultaneously on this aircraft with separate targets. Behind the pilot was a spacious passenger cabin area for transporting personnel, with rows of seats and seat belts. There were dozens of military personnel on board this plane, covered with thin armor pieces and assault rifles equipped with grenade-launchers; they began to prepare their respective guns.
Like the soldiers in the factory building, they also had the emblems of various countries’ flags on the armor on their left upper sleeve and an emblem in the form of a crest with words on it on their right upper sleeve. The captain of this military personnel was a man in his 30s, with undercut hair styled elegantly and stylishly. His name was Raymond Redclife.
Raymond stood from his seat and slung his assault rifle behind his back; when he placed it on his back, it was directly attached to his back without needing a sling. Raymond walked to the cargo door at the plane’s rear and stood by it, holding on to the handrail along the ceiling. Raymond glanced back.
“Okay, all of you get ready.”
He spoke with a deadpan and calm expression, without the slightest pressure. All the soldiers here replied with raised voices and serious expressions.
“Yes, sir!”
The plane began flying low, then hovered in the air right above the factory building. The searchlight on the plane flashed on, its light shining through a row of translucent framed glass panes on the factory ceiling. Hardy looked at the ceiling with a dazzled expression because of it. The plane’s rear cargo door opened and became stairs bridge to get off the plane.
Each of these army personnel stood up from their seats and slung their assault rifles on their backs without any slings. They walked swiftly toward the open end of the cargo door, then pulled a steel rope from the reel attached to the plane’s ceiling near the cargo door. They hooked the steel ropes to the armor on their bodies. Some soldiers and Raymond jumped out using the steel rope, breaking through and shattering the framed window panes on the factory ceiling.
Each soldier landed steadily on the floor, not too far from where Hardy had been tied up. Every one of these soldiers was immediately on alert as they aimed their assault rifles in various directions, except for Raymond, who kept it slung over his back and looked normal. Raymond’s attention was drawn to Hardy, tied to a chair with a slightly irritated expression, and walked over to him. Seeing Hardy’s expression, Raymond realized that the thing that had caused all this had left this place. Raymond turned to his unit.
“Free the others who are tied except Hardy.”
One of his comrades’ expressions turned astonished.
“Understood, sir.”
The soldier then walked toward his other comrades and informed them. Raymond walked over to Hardy and watched him with an astonished expression.
“Before I untie you, can you tell me what the hell happened to you?”
Still having an irritated expression, Hardy replied.
“No need to get into it; what we need to deal with now is one of the observation subjects that came to this place, Erdyn Zherjhyl.”
Raymond was surprised; he looked around momentarily and turned back at Hardy.
“Don’t tell me he came here alone and beat up all of you?”
Hardy replied.
“Why do you think I look upset?”
Raymond appeared to have already expected that.
“Good grief….”
Raymond untied Hardy, which turned out to be tighter than it appeared. When Raymond untied the rope, Hardy looked slightly in pain. Raymond resumed speaking.
“All my units and I will try to find him as part of the security protocol.”
Just about to act and walk away, Raymond was stopped by Hardy’s words.
“I don’t think that’s necessary.”
Raymond turned to Hardy with a curious expression. Hardy continued speaking.
“He said to meet him in person if we want to deal with him again.”
Raymond was surprised.
“How dare he say that? All these things don’t bother him in the least?”
