Genève’s desperate scream resonated around Ethel’s ears as her muscular body fell, her vision blurring in and out of focus.

She blinked, fighting through the pain as bouts of darkness alternated with visions of booted feet trampling around her.

The last blurry image her mind processed was that of Genève’s struggling form being dragged away before a large boot descended over her woozy eyes.

Then darkness mercifully claimed her.
