The door opened widely. Another secretary came out of Mr. Hugo Anders's office crying. Covering herself from shame while everyone watched.
“OMG, is that the 8th time that got fired today?” Nikki whispered to Claudia as they came into the office workspace department.
“That’s why I don’t want to be Mr. Hugo’s secretary. He’s scary to deal with. He fires people immediately when they make a single tiny mistake. He has a type A personality.” Claudia said as they sat and set their desk.
“What do you mean by type A personality?” Nikki wondered.
“Well based on psychology, a person who is a perfectionist. A person who wants everything to be perfect and on schedule without a single mistake. They explode in madness if their ideas or plan is ruined or not perfectly made. That’s Mr. Hugo’s personality.” Claudia explained in a soft tone.
Nikki nodded as she understood what Claudia meant. They went back to work just like everyone else. Doing their respective jobs. Hugo Anders and her sister Amelia Anders ran an advertising company that values their clients' portfolios, and other affiliates connected to them. Amelia was a Human Resource Manager, in-charged in recruitment, employee performance and appraisal, and establishing the company’s core values. Unfortunately, she was not pleased to hear that another of his secretaries got fired because of a single mistake. Amelia is a good listener and understands employees' needs and well-being while Hugo is the complete opposite. He’s handsome with a great body build but because he's a perfectionist, none dares to work with him except an assigned secretary and a trusted driver who knows him very well and deals with his day-to-day activities, and meeting schedules as the CEO of the company.

Amelia came into his office and slammed the door closed. The workspace cubicle went silent as they knew what was going to happen next. They just focused on their work, as they hear the nagging of Ms. Amelia Anders. Hugo just looked at her sister with a rested face, tapping his laptop.
“What is it now?” He snubbed sideways.
“What is it now? A-agh, Hugo, when will you ever learn to listen to others? That is the 8th time you fired someone in 3 months. Do you think I will still hire a secretary for you?” Amelia nagged, in a disappointed tone.
“Well, that’s your job,” he said with a cold tone.
“Are you trying to piss me off right now?! Why not be a secretary yourself?!” Amelia annoyed with a furrowed face standing in front of his brother’s desk.
Hugo did not say anything, instead, he just ignored her and checked the emails on his laptop.
Amelia looked at him intensely but because it was her brother, she needs to be more patient and contemplated looking for another secretary who can handle his personality.
“This is the last time I will hire a secretary for you, Hugo. In case you fire this last person again, I will be the one to initiate leaving this company and let you run it all by yourself so you would feel what it feels like having no one around with that personality of yours.” Amelia seriously advised him while turning around.
“Is that a threat?” Hugo said, looking at her back. She slightly moves her head sideways. “It’s not a threat Hugo, it's my advice, being a perfectionist is not going to help you in the end if you don’t let yourself experience making mistakes, accept them, and move on from them.” Then she opened the door and slammed it.
Amelia looked at everyone working in their workspace cubicle. As she walked out and went back to her office. She started posting the job requirements online, hoping to hire someone who can handle her brother’s attitude.

Yna Mitchel carrying her two-year-old son in an Infanto flip baby carrier went inside the elevator holding a plastic bag of groceries. Daniel Wong [from Chapter 1] also went inside the elevator with fluffy swollen eyes, looking down as he leaned on the handrails. Yna noticed him as he was looking again at the USB that Leila gave him. She suddenly asked if he was alright. Daniel Wong just nodded but looked disoriented. The elevator stopped on the 3rd floor, and Yna went out while taking a last look at Daniel Wong's sad expression.
She just came back from her dayshift work at the daycare center in which she’s lucky because she can bring his son along with her. She is a single mother at the young age of 23. She’s doing a whole day of work at the daycare preparing snack food for the kids. But, she needs to look for a better-paying job as her savings are running low. She needs enough money to pay rent in the next 2 months and the necessities for her and her son.
Yna completed her Diploma in Business Administration. Unfortunately, she got pregnant after graduation by her boyfriend who ran away and never showed up. When her parents found out, they were disheartened and disowned her due to their own spiritual beliefs. She couldn't do anything but leave. She went and stayed in a center for women with the same case as hers. After she bore her son at age 21, she was able to recover and decided to work to start earning and soon find her own place to settle in with her son. She got a job as a secretary in the Women's Center while she takes care of her son. She was organized and on schedule in providing information to her manager. Her hard work paid off when she was able to save enough. She became close with the manager at her secretarial job, so she decided to quit and move to the big city, where she rented an apartment on the third floor. It was a small apartment compared to other floors but she was content that it was clean and tidy when she moved in.
She puts Adan on the duvet folded on the carpeted floor while he was soundly asleep. She unpacked her bag and plastic groceries and started cooking dinner and preparing her lunch for work the next day.
While Adan was asleep, she took a quick shower and dressed up in her pajamas. She prepared the feeding bottle for Adan and turned on her secondhand laptop to start looking for jobs online. Fortunately, she saw Amelia’s job post, and read the requirements. She has the experience and the requirements they are looking for. She did not hesitate and submitted her application online.

After two days, she got a call for an interview but it was scheduled for a weekend Saturday morning. She asked permission if she could bring her son with her as she can’t afford to pay for a babysitter. The person whom she’s talking with agreed. She was happy about it. She prepared herself in her casual business attire for the interview and prepared Adan at the same time. Her interview is at 9:00 am. Perfect timing when she went into the elevator and greeted the two ladies behind her Betty and Adeline [from Chapter 2]. They exchanged greetings.
She took the bus and arrived at the publishing company 15 minutes early. She went inside but no one was around the front desk. She gave Adan a toy to play with while waiting. A tall lady came out from another door, approaching her direction. She had a bob hairstyle, wearing a casual dress with high heels. Her curves were showing off like JLO. She looks exquisite and Yna admires her look and style.
“Are you Yna Mitchel?” Amelia smiled.
“Ahm, yes Ma’am” she politely greeted.
“Please, just call me Ms. Amelia. Calling me Ma’am sounds like I’m too old” she teased, and Yna felt awkward and just smiled at her.
“Come with me, please.” Amelia took her to the human resource office.
They both sat face to face. Yna put the baby carrier beside her as Adan has fallen asleep.
Amelia did not mind that she had a baby and started the interview. It went smoothly from knowing her personal profile down to her work experiences as indicated on her resume. Amelia does not meddle in any person’s personal life. She is keen more on the skills and character of a person while interviewing Yna. Yna was not only confident in answering all the questions being asked by Amelia, but she was also quite special as a whole. Her intuition said that Yna can nail the job and perhaps her brother could learn from her.
“If I am to hire you, when can you start?” Amelia asked frankly.
“I have to provide a 2 weeks notice to my current employer until we can find a new replacement.”
“Very well, two weeks is enough. I will hire you, Ms. Yna as the position is quite urgent. Since you already have the experience, it would be less supervision for me to train you.” said barefaced.
Yna felt happy within herself that she got the job. It would be her first time working in a busy advertising company. She went back home and treated herself and her son by cooking her favorite stir-fried vegetables with chicken and Adan is having a nice pumpkin soup soaked with scattered cramps of bread.
Later, she wrote a resignation letter. She handed in her resignation the next day, and her employer was able to find a new replacement for her in a short period of time. She turned over her job properly to the new employee, as she bid farewell to her work colleagues with a happy face.
