First person POV
Simon's POV
During the recess I managed to relieve myself(of course I was still being escorted).
"Ooooh my goodness! That was so intense." I thought to myself. Many people were looking at me like I was a criminal awaiting the death sentence. It made me so uncomfortable that I requested the guard to let me go somewhere where there's no one around. They granted my request provided they have to be by my side at all times, which I don't really mind. I just want to be somewhere without being glared at by hateful eyes every few seconds.
After a while I was escorted back into the court, my arms and legs were strapped back onto the same chair I sat on during the first part of the trial.
Caesar Augustus II came back and sat in his usual seat, the door beneath his balcony opened and all the mages that were called for the meeting walked out. Mr Chronos looked at me with eyes of sadness which gave me a very bad feeling for what's about to happen.
After everyone had settled down, Caesar finally said "I have come to a decision…the defendant Simon Blake is found guilty for illegally obtaining dark magic as well as injuring an innocent student with said dark magic and will be sentenced to death."
An indescribable feeling washed over me as I began to sobbed. I already knew that I was gonna die and yet the trial brought me hope for a bit but now that it's confirmed. Whatever hope I had was gone and I am gonna die and I won't be able to see my friends again. I felt like my life had just been stolen from me. A lady came and stood in front of me, she smiled and said "Simon, I need you to trust me. I looked her in the eyes while still sobbing and nodded. She then leaned in close to my ears and whispered {Somnum} and with that I black out.
***********
When I woke up I was in a room somewhere, Mr Chronos sat beside the bed I was lying in. "You're awake. How are you feeling?" He asked, looking concerned.
"I just had the weirdest dream." I said hoping that the death sentence handed down to me wasn't real.
Mr Chronos gave me a grim looked, that told me straight away that I wasn't dreaming. " Simon, that's what I wanted to talk to you about. Don't panic and listen to what I have to tell you." In a serious tone he continues. "We will put you to sleep and you will confront the dark entity within you and beat it to submission."
"And what will happen if I fail?" I asked Mr Chronos after he explained to me what was going on. "I will make sure that will never happen, count on it." He replied, both of his hands holding mine.
The door opened and the lady that put me to sleep came in. "Hi Simon" she greeted me, I waved back to her and she turned to Mr Chronos and said "Greg, everything ready." Mr Chronos nodded and thanked her.
"Good luck kiddo." She said to me, smiling.
"Simon, this is Narcisa. She's a mage of the mind and sleep." Mr Chronos introduced.
"Nice to meet you." I said offering my hand, she shook it replying with "Nice to meet you too."
"Now that introductions are out of the way. Let's get started." Mr Chronos said walking into the next room.
**************
The next room looks like something out of a Mediaeval prison. The whole place was made out of thick stone bricks covering the top of the wall to the bottom, windows with bars on the outside and a few people (who I assumed are mages) rushing around doing who knows what. "Does he know the plan?" Caesar Augustus II asked Mr Chronos the moment he saw me walk in.
"Yes sir, he's been briefed." Mr Chronos responded, his back facing me.
Caesar then turn his attention to me
"Simon, do not be afraid, we will do what we can to help you." He tried to reassure me, but to be honest, telling me not to be afraid was making me freak out. Narcisa tapped me which brought me back. "Si, I'm gonna put you to sleep now ok? Just relax." She instructed. I closed my eyes nervously. {Somnum} I blacked out after that.
Mr Chronos POV
After Narcisa put Simon to sleep I immediately cast a time spell on him. {Chronostasis} Hades, who was knelt down on the ground, muttered what sounded like a spell, a coffin came up through the ground and encased Simon's body, it remained in a vertical position.
"I'm not done yet." Hades said before muttering a chant "Bindings that were forged from the deepest parts of the underworld and the strongest metal in the world above and below. Binding spell 936." {Vinculum}
A string of golden light came from the tips of his fingers, wrapped tightly around the coffin and manifested into metal chains.
"Is this really necessary?" I asked Hades after he got up from casting the spells
"I'm not taking any chances." He replied, looking at me sternly. "It'll buy us some time, should the dark entity within him take over and try to escape… but it's all up to the kid now."
"Simon, please make it out alive." I thought to myself, hoping I didn't just send my own adopted son into his death.
