A few hours earlier during the recess
We all seated at Emperor (Caesar) Augustus II table at the back of the courtroom.
"Now then,Metis please tell us what your proposal is about." The Emperor spoke to Metis, she then stood up and began speaking "Lord Chronos I know you will do anything for Simon considering he is like a son to you, so my plan is…..we fake his death."
"WHAT?!" all of us were dumbfounded by what she just said.
"I'm aware that this is very sudden but it'll work. But first Simon needs to learn to fight for control of his body with the entity within him, once he succeeds Lord Hades will train him until he knows how to better utilise his powers." She explained.
"And how would he do that?" Emperor Augustus asked.
Metis began her explanation. " First we put Simon to sleep, during that time he will fight with the entity within him in his mind. We will keep watch on the outside
"What will happen if he fails?" I asked, concerned.
"To be honest, I don't know as this is the first time we've encountered this kind of thing." Metis gave a look of uncertainty, which isn't very assuring.
"I will look through my library." Hades chimed in. "I should have notes left behind by all my predecessors, they should have a solution."
"Thank you Lord Hades." I shook his hand with both of mine.
"Narcisa, can you keep a mental link with Simon during the process?" I turned to her and asked.
"I can try." She began to say. "But I don't know if that thing might find it."
"Do your best." I encourage her. "If the entity found out, well… we'll cross that bridge when it comes."
"Don't worry about it, Simon will keep it busy." Metis interjected, before adding ".... hopefully."
Present time(inside Simon's mind)
Simon's POV
When I woke up, I was in a forest surrounded by darkness. "HELLO! IS ANYONE THERE?!" I yelled out, hoping to hear a familiar voice. "Ah I see you are awake." A familiarly dreadful disembodied gruff voice answered me. "Come and find me, boy."
Feeling scared I immediately ran in the direction I was facing, I tripped a little later as it was too dark to see clearly. "Ow! Agggh!" I groaned in pain, when I recovered I saw a big gigantic iron double door in front of me.
"Hahaha I must have gone mad." Was the first thing I thought when I saw the door.
How is there a door in the middle of the forest? I went and touched the door to check if it's real or a hallucination. "It's real!" I said aloud, as my hand retracted like I've just touched a boiling kettle.
I slowly reached out to the doors giving it a more thorough feel. The doors had engravings of what looked like men standing and rowing boats covered from top to bottom.
"No, nonononono. I've read enough books to know you don't open random doors in the middle of the forest." I thought aloud, as I turned back to walk away, I heard a loud creak as the doors slowly opened. I turned my head to give a quick look and then I heard it. "Come now! Don't be like this, I am looking forward to our meeting." That same familiar voice taunted me. I suddenly felt a gust of wind blowing towards the door or more accurately I was getting sucked into the doorway. "Ahahahahahaha" the voice laughed as I got sucked into the doorway and it closed once I was in it.
Once the wind died down, I found myself in another unfamiliar room with multiple doors around me…."no…it's not a room." I thought as I gave a more thorough look. I was in a weird maze with doors and stairways all over the place.
"Welcome to the inside of my head. Boy!" I jumped as a voice loudly said. "Make yourself at home because you won't be leaving."
I walked around the maze and tried a few doors and stairways but the place was confusing, they were doors that lead to nowhere or go right back to where I was, some of them have traps behind them which will result in death if not careful.
I managed to find a longsword in one of the rooms and kept it with me, in case I did encounter the source of the voice.
After wandering around for who knows how long I gave up.
I can't take it anymore! This being was obviously toying with me, in a fit of anger I shouted. "I'M TIRED OF THIS! WHY DON'T YOU SHOW YOURSELF?! COWARD!"
"Hahahaha, where's the fun in that I will take my time tormenting you until you are nothing but a forgotten memory." It taunted.
"Ok, calm down!" I told myself. "There must be another way to find it other than opening every door here."
Then I remembered a lesson Mr Chronos taught me when I was 9 in the form of hide and seek. "Remember Simon, the trick to seek someone out without wandering around blindly is sensing their mana signature, Everything with magic has them. From plants to animals to humans." I remembered his advice and began to close my eyes and focus on the dark mana.
I began to see strings of black mana forming around me leading from door to door. In this chamber of infinite doors I sensed one of the doors pulsating with dark magic on the other side. "Now I got you." I whispered and made my way to it.
