Few moments earlier

Mr Chronos POV

"How is he?" I asked Narcisa as she has a mental link to Simon, who was still inside the seal.

"So far so good. He's looking for the dark entity in his mind." She replied with a smile.

"Let me know if anything changes." I placed my hand on her shoulder as I started to pace back and forth around the room. Narcisa kept us updated every few minutes to help ease my worry, but things got worse after an hour. She told us that the link she has with Simon was getting weaker and it felt like he was fading away. "Prepare for protocol 564!" Emperor Augustus ordered.

Mages all over rushed to grab their weapon in preparation for the worst case scenario.

"Chronos, maybe you should stay out of this one." The Emperor emphatically told me. "No! He's my son and I'll have to be the one to do it!" I replied with conviction.

A loud sound suddenly came from the coffin followed by a cracks appearing

We all stood battle ready, the seal exploded, we had to look away from the blast and we felt a large amount of mana coming from Simon…or rather from his body.

"Simon? Is that you?" I asked as I slowly approached him. He didn't answer and stood still,his eyes glowing reddish black for a few seconds before he collapsed. I caught him mid-air in my arms. The mana I felt from before had died down, Simon then woke up, looked at me, smiled and said weakly "I did it! I defeated Erebus!" And then he fainted.

"He's mentally exhausted." Narcisa said, "we should give him time to rest."

"Yeah!" I agreed. "If you don't mind your Majesty I would like to take my son home." I addressed the Emperor carrying Simon in my arms.

"Well…. deals a deal, he will be allowed to live but will train under Lord Hades once he recovers." He compassionately said.

"Well….if you will all excuse me, I need to file the necessary paperwork for Simon's so-called death." He then chuckled and walked out of the chamber.

Simon's POV

When I woke up, I was in my room back at home. Mr Chronos greeted me and told me I had been asleep for 3 days straight without waking up. "I was starting to think that you were dead!" he said, I told him what happened during the time I was inside my head. I also checked if what I did three days ago wasn't a dream and he said it isn't, which still kinda surprises me.

Mr Chronos then told me to rest well and left, closing the door behind him.

I spent the rest of the day trying to adjust back to the real world, and I have a list of questions to ask Mr Chronos as well.

During dinner, I asked "when will we be going back to school?"

"I'm afraid you won't be going there for a while." He replied with a sad look on his face, he put down his utensils, turned to me and started talking.

"Simon, the trial ended with Caesar announcing your death sentence, so the whole mage community all thought you'd died, and even if it didn't turn out that way we still can't send you back to school just like that."

"Wait! Wait! Wait! So legally I'm dead?!" I interrupted him. "So what's gonna happen to me now?"

"I'm getting to that." He rebuked me. "A man by the name of Hades has agreed to take you in and train you, I don't know how long it will take but……after today I will take you to him and begin your training."

"So I won't be able to see you after tomorrow?" I asked, starting to panic a little. "No! No of course not, it'll be like school, you'll be back during the school vacation." He reassured me.

The next day a man came to the house and spoke to Mr Chronos, a few minutes later Mr Chronos called for me. As I came into the room the man stood up to greet me, and man! He was big. His figure loomed over me and I suddenly felt the urge to start confessing all my sins.

"Simon, this is Hades, king of the underworld and your new teacher." Mr Chronos introduced. I stood there frozen with fear. "Don't worry boy! I don't bite." Hades said and held out his hand to shake mine. "N…..nice to meet you." I said, shaking. "P….. please take care of me!" I shook his hand nervously.

After I calmed down, Mr Chronos and Hades began to talk about my training. It seems like I'll be moving into Hades's mansion in the countryside with little to no access to the outside world.

"The training will be painful and gruesome, I will train you not only in dark magic but in combat and other skills you'll need if you intend on being a full fledged mage." Hades told me. 

I was reluctant, as I will be moving to another unfamiliar environment and I won't get to see Art or Bill during that time.

But Mr Chronos told me my priority is to learn to control my powers first and he assured me once I finished learning about my powers I can return to school and see them.

I agreed to go with Hades to train under him. I gave Mr Chronos a hug, thanked him and followed Hades in a carriage parked outside the house, entering it I sat and thought about what  was ahead of me as the carriage heads for Hades's Mansion

We arrived at Hades’s mansion in the late evening. A tall, slender but handsome man in a tailcoat greeted us. “Welcome home sir!” he said with a warm smile on his face.

Hades handed his coat to him and then asked. “Is Delton here?”

“Yes sir, the young master is in his room.” the man answered.

“There’s something I would like to brief to the servants as well as my family, so please gather them in the lobby.” Hades instructed

“As you wish sir” the man took a small bow politely before walking away.

Hades then turned to me, kneeled down to my eye level and said

“Simon, I’m going to introduce you to my family as you will be living with us for a while. I hope you can get along with them.” He gave me a smile as he stood up

A young boy suddenly ran up to Hades. “Daddy! Welcome home!” he shouted as he leaped into Hades’s arm. A woman carrying a baby in her arms walked to him and said “ welcome home, dear.” giving him a kiss on the cheek, she then noticed me standing behind her husband. "Oh my! Who's this, dear?" She turns to Hades.

"It will all be made clear my dear." He replied giving a look that said "it's not what you think."

"Sir, the staff are all here." The man in the tailcoat said.

"Good." Hades replied to him and then turned to address the crowd. "We have a new guest staying with us for a while. He is the son of Lord Chronos so please treat him with the utmost respect during his stay." 

After finishing his speech he turned to the man in the tailcoat. "Alfred, please show Simon to his room and arrange for staff to move his belongings there as well." 

"Yes sir." Alfred gave the same polite bow and turned to me. "Young master Simon, right this way." He gestured me to follow him and started walking up the stairs,

My room is on the second floor of the manor near the stairwell. Alfred showed me where the nearest bathroom was as well as the timing for meals. "If you need anything, please press the assistance bell on the intercom." He said before closing the door.

I took a while to soak in the atmosphere of the room and began to settle down not knowing what's installed for me.

and so this is where my adventure ends….for now.
