It is 7:05am. Silver Natal was running from rooftop to rooftop, going down what would be the most direct path from the bar she was just at to the police station. Once stopping at a satisfactory ambush point, she replaced the grappling wires that were cut during her skirmish with the Dynamic Trio with new undamaged grappling hooks. “There, now I just need to make sure I come up with a plan that doesn’t end with me also getting arrested.”
“A plan for what now?”
Silver Natal heard someone whisper a question in her ear. She quickly turned around, and while didn’t get to look at whoever was behind her because of a sudden gust of wind that caused her to cover her eyes, it was that wind that clued in to her who it was. Dark skin, shredded clothing, Short wavy curls, and a devious smile. This was none other than her boss, Mercari Walker. “Mercari, I thought you were still busy looking for someone who could use the chip properly.”
“I gave up on that.” Mercari responded, “I wasn’t able to find anyone, and when I did come across a scientist who could help, it didn’t go so well.” Mercari reached behind himself to unbuckle something on the back of his pants, which turned out to be someone’s decapitated head.
Silver Natal sighed in disbelief, “You knew we needed the person alive, how did you manage to mess up so badly?” Knowing she still needed to complete the difficult task of rescuing Henry after their own failure, Mercari’s mistakes were beginning to feel less tolerable at the moment.
“I know, I know, I promise you I tried stopping at his family.”
“You killed his entire family too?”
“Well, it started out as standard blackmail. Then there was an accident with the daughter that one could possibly blame on me. After that, no one would calm down so it just went down a bloody, slippery slope.”
Silver Natal was not able to hold back her disappointment. “I don’t even have full context of the situation and it still sounds like the most idiotic screw up you’ve done yet.”
Mercari backed up in shock, “Woah! You make it sound like I mess up often. Fine, I’ll make up for it by switching places with you. You can kidnap us a new local smart person, while I free whichever of our two allies got arrested.” Silver Natal’s eyes widened. “What? Silver, I’m not completely idiotic. Overhearing you earlier, it was pretty clear someone got caught. I can’t imagine why you’d worry about getting arrested for failure otherwise. Don’t worry, I got it covered.” Mercari started stretching, getting ready to run again.
Silver Natal put her hand on Mercari’s shoulder, “You really shouldn’t. Our greatest advantage is the fact that everyone thinks we’re no longer working together. And with the fact that you’re the worst at keeping a low profile, you’d have a much easier time just trying not to kill the next person you’re supposed to be taking. Well, at least a somewhat easier time.”
“I’ll be extra careful then, just do the new job I’m giving you.” Mercari responded. He batted Silver’s hand off his shoulder, then revealed in his hand the four grappling hooks Silver Natal had in her clothes. Silver Natal herself, surprised at how, or even when Mercari got his hands on them in the first place. “Closing note, I know this new plan of ours is going to kill off The Flamezation, and that will have us replace them as the most famous people in Asogend. However, we’re not The Flamezation, and I’m not their dopey leader, Kahil. Unlike them, we aren’t exactly close enough for you to insult my competence for a good laugh, nor do I see us getting that close either.” Silver Natal couldn’t even react herself, her body moved on its own as she could herself bending backwards, discovering it was to avoid a jab from Mercari. Though she was much too close to the edge of the roof, and began to fall. But instead of crashing into the ground, she felt herself hanging upside down. Mercari had connected one of the grappling hooks to the bottom of her pant leg. With Mercari himself, having already sped off, she was left hanging upside down from the top of the building.
“That… could’ve gone much worse. Let’s just hope I can complete this next task in a more timely manner.
Henry Tale was sitting in the back of a police car, with only one officer up front, and his body completely magnetized onto the seat. He could see from his seat one other police vehicle in front, and another one behind him that he knew was being driven by the Dynamic Trio. “Sure hope Silver has a plan. I don’t feel like breaking myself out of prison a third time.” Henry thought to himself. Then suddenly, the police vehicle in front swerves off the road, into a streetlight, nearly hitting someone’s pet dog.
“That was pretty close.” The officer said while driving. His phone started ringing soon after, which he answered. “Tyreese, didn’t we already go through this? You don’t need to use your phone when we’re all in these vehicles. Can you just go over and make sure that guy’s dog is alright? I heard Mr. Bennett was downtown recently and the last thing we need is more trouble. Also, make sure our other officer is still alive there.”
“Oh no.” Henry said to himself, knowing the most likely reason that car swerved off the way it did.
“We sure we don’t want to check ourselves? Our boy in blue wasn’t looking too good when I last saw him.” Said Mercari, who somehow found his way into the passenger seat without anyone noticing, his left hand drenched in blood. “I tried checking his heartbeat, and I think the problem is his heart is more liquidy than it’s supposed to be. Same thing with the rest of his organs.”
The officer, just now realizing Mercari was in the car with him, was completely terrified. “Mercari? When-” Mercari covered the officer’s mouth with his blood soaked hand.
“How about you tone it down a bit, Officer Becky. Man, just from this name I can tell you’re an Unborn, or you could just have hilarious parents.” Mercari said, with his right hand holding the officer’s ID, that with Henry knowing Mercari well, he most definitely searched for as soon as he was about to say the officer’s name. “Now listen, I’m trying to not cause much of a scene here, kinda being discreet and what not. Just follow some simple directions I’m going to give you, and I promise to let you live. Well I mean, I will cut out your tongue, but you get to live afterwards.” The officer shut his eyes, and tried screaming out from over the hand Mercari was covering his mouth with. “Wait, stop doing that! I was only kidding, I won’t cut out your tongue. My buddy Cadent will do that for me, he’s much better with things like that.”
Upon hearing Mercari say that, Henry just realized something very important. “Mercari, is Becky’s phone still on the call with The Dynamic Trio?”
“Uh…” They got their answer soon enough. The Dynamic Trio were already using their car to ram into them. “I can’t see Kate from here, that’s a bad sign. Time for a quick exit.” Mercari reached into the back of the car in order to put a hand on Henry. A moment later, the two of them, along with Officer Becky, were warped into a completely different location; in front of a mahogany counter inside of a brewery. “There, perfect rescue.”
Henry stretched now that he was freed from being magnetized to that seat. “Not exactly. The Dynamic Trio know that we’re working together again. Kinda ruins the entire thing of making sure no one knows what we’re planning.”
“Not really, it’s just that us working together will no longer be a surprise. No harm done.”
“But didn’t you specifically want this to be a surprise?”
Officer Becky, while confused about his new situation, stood his ground. He pulled out his gun and aimed at Mercari. “Come on Mercari, you know it’s only a matter of time before they find this place.”
Mercari looked at the officer with his signature devious grin, “Maybe, but they’re not going to be fast enough to save you.” He remarked, holding Becky’s gun and pointing it at him. No one in the room even noticed when Mercari grabbed the gun out of Becky’s hands. “Now sit down somewhere. We’ll need to wait for Cadent to get back so we can remove that tongue of yours.”
It is 7:30am. Quinn and Adimas Hill were outside having a walk. Quinn having put on a normal t-shirt, and Adimas having changed into a red v-neck shirt and some jeans, the two of them have gone back to resembling a normal mother and son. “Where are we going, mom?” Quinn politely asked, innocently looking at Adimas. “I’m getting tired of walking. Can you carry me the rest of the way?”
Adimas patted Quinn on the head. “Be patient sweetie, we’re not too far now. Just be careful, we don’t want to get caught up in anything dangerous.” While walking down the sidewalk, Adimas was focused, listening for anything she could assume was criminal activity being done by a group, preferably a group kidnapping. It took a while, but she had finally found what she was looking for, and it was just up ahead. Adimas put her hand on Quinn’s shoulder and used her index finger to point at an alley they were about to pass.
Quinn, noticing her signal, pulled out a yo-yo that he began to play with, and just so happened to accidentally fumble with, as it rolled into the alleyway. “Oh no, my yo-yo.” He said, following it into the alleyway.
“Quinn, get back here!” Adimas called out, following Quinn into the alley. As the two of them turned into the dark alley, Adimas could make out perfectly the group of criminals down much further back, in front of the back doors of an open van. The van was filled with multiple victims, all of them seemingly had given up on calling for help, with them having been blindfolded and tied up with ropes. All that was left to do now was get their attention. “Quinn, get away from there now!” Adimas yelled, running towards Quinn. Quinn picked up his yo-yo, pretending to have not noticed the criminals in the back of the alleyway. The group of three criminals drew their attention to Quinn and Adimas. Adimas grabbed Quinn by the arm. “We need to leave, now!” As Adimas turned with Quinn, they were snagged by ropes that wrapped around the two of them, dragging them back towards the criminals. The two of them struggled to no avail as they were surrounded by their kidnappers.
“Unlucky day for you two. Restrain them like the rest, and get them in the van.” The man holding the rope ordered, clearly the criminal in charge. Quinn and Adimas were terrified, nearly half as terrified as their kidnappers should be.
