A man completly covered by a black cloak walked down a small and dark corridor, each step frail and insecure. From time to time, he would look back, expecting to see something even tough he walked alone.
This man was a known cardeal of the Brotherhood of Celestia called Gereon. He was also the responsible for the branch of the brotherhood in the Feuer village.
Altough he brought good knews, the Reunion was never remembered as a good day to anyone.
The Reunion, was a meeting of several cardeals in order to discuss about matters wich cannot be revealed to the outside, like the Neto Program and the Evil Dragon Project.
The reason why such a meeting was never remebered fondly was because of the presence of two existences that made the most cruel of bandits shiver in fear.
One was the Shadows. The result of a program similar to the Neto program, called the Nix Program. They were pictured as perfect assassins and if they weren't then they were close.
Gereon knew that atleast one Shadow was with him in that corridor, however no matter how talented a mage he was or how narrow the corridor was, he couldn't help but think that he was alone.
But, even trembling in fear was he able to reach the end of the corridor.
The in wich he entered was completely made of stone with a long table in the middle where all the other cardeals were seated.
Without making much sound Gereon searched for his seat before sitting down and waited for the start of the Reunion.
After all of the cardeals were present and in their seats, footsteps could be heard aproaching the table.
The responsible was a man who seemed to be in his early twenties, very few knew that in fact he was already reaching the age of three digits. This same man was the second reason why the Reunion was never remembered foundly.
"Your Holiness." all the cardeals greeted the man who was known has the Pope of the Brotherhood of Celestia.
He had wheat blonde hair and cold blue eyes that seemed to look down upon every single one of the people present in the room, mostly because it was true that they were below him.
A man who was known to be the closest person to the celestials who would receive messages from them every once in a while.
"At ease." the Pope said.
Calmly he walked to the top of the table and seated on a exquisite wooden chair painted in gold. The Pope relaxed on the chair crossing his legs.
"How was the Bestowment Ceremony this year, anyone remarkable joined the Neto Program?"
Gereon lifted his hand along with some others.
The Pope lazily pointed to Gereon.
"Your Holiness, I am in absolute joy to be capable of informing you that my branch has succesfully acquired a True Blessing for the Neto Program."
In normal circumstances the cardeals would start to gossip with each other or blaming Gereon for lying, however, in the presence of the Pope, no one is allowed to talk without the permission of the Pope.
As for lying to the Pope one had to be either dumb or arrogant to even try.
The Pope was silent, his calm gaze studying Gereon in order to find out if what he was saying was true.
"Wich element has been bestowed to him?" he asked.
"Fire element, your holiness." Gereon answered.
The Pope closed his eyes deep in his toughts, no one dared to speak up waiting for the pope to reply to Gereon.
"Gereon, give me a full description of the one who possesses the True Blessing."
"Yes, your holiness. The one who possesses the True Blessing his a boy with six years old and the True Blessing was his first rune, wich his a sign of great potential, not only that the speed at wich he learns the things tought by the instructors his nothing sort of astounding."
"It seems that you have this boy in high regard."
"I simply have high expectations for him."
The pope fell in tought once again with his eyes closed. He opened his eyes and looked at the cardeals one by one as if trying to assessing something.
"Wich one of you is the responsible for the Evil Dragon Project?"
A bald man in his fifties raised his hand slowly. "I am, your holiness" he answered.
"I want you to send your best teams to the Feuer village, there goal is to create a secure way to give the boy with the True Blessing a way of utilizing the powers of the Evil Dragon King."
The bald man didn't complain, as someone whose best interest was to create new things that created big impacts. According to his studies when one receive the powers of the Evil Dragon King their original fire spell could sligtly altered, if the spell in question was one were it was able to control fire in every possible way, he couldn't think of a better combination.
"It will be my pleasure, your holiness."
"Good." the pope said, he then turned to Gereon " You are to prepare the weakest members of the Neto program to be experimented by the teams sent, I advise to use the ones who failed the examinations at the end of the year."
"But sir, we normally use them to feed the beast we use for practice, what do we do now?" Gireon said.
"Don't worry, I will request a increase on your budget in order for you to run the program as normal, you don't have to worry, Gereon."
Gereon sighed in relief, he was really glad that he was going to receive more funds, after all running such a program right in front of a noble house like the Feuervogel was not exactly cheap. It was actualy the oposite, around 65% of the expenses of the program came from the ways the cardial had instaled to hide the operations from the noble.
"I thank you for that, your holiness."
"Right..." the poped waved his hand as he replied "Lets continue, any more of you want to report anything regarding the Neto Program?"
The rest of the reunion went by normally, the fear and the respect that the cardeals had for the pope was simply to big to cause any comotion.
When the reunion ended, Gereon stood up and walked in the direction of the exit, once he reached the door, the bald man aproached him.
"It's really a big surprise that such a big fish was caught in such a backwater village, isn't it?"he asked.
"Yes, altough I was already result from him." Gereon confessed.
"Oh?"
"You see the boy's name is John Feuervogel, does the name ring any bells?"
"Feuervogel? No way!! Isn't that the surname of the noble family in charge of your village?" the bald man said surprised.
"Exactly, his father is complete monster with enormous talent, there's no way his son would fall behind, right? However I was wrong, he completely surpassed his father along with my expectations."
"But I do wonder how strong is his father?"
"Well he has five talents and he has reached the Knight rank giving him a an outstanding magical power of 240 crests." Gereon replied.
"By the grace of Celestia, what an outstanding man, why is such a powerfull person only a low noble?"
"That's the thing he refused every single title and position he was given, he even married a commoner, he is only a low level noble for the single fact that he is the head of the Feuervogel Family."
"It seems that the Feuer village is really interesting and that it will only get more interesting for now on, it's a shame that I cannot go personally."
In a world where children are exposed to magic early on in their lifes, John, the eldest son of a low-nobilty family that lives in a village far away from the big cities, is considered to be blessed by the divine beings known as Celestials, however soon he discovers that amidst a blessing there's always a curse.
