Just from his vantage point he could see bodies strewn about from the initial onset of the attack. The growls that once echoed through the air had fallen silent, he knew that the two must have recovered enough and probably began looking for him. Alistar tried shuffling closer to the center of the van, however, his bump into a ravaged corpse made him loudly gasp before grabbing his mouth shut. In an act of quick thinking, he picked up various nearby stones and threw them randomly in different directions to make it appear that he was running around.
He was so preoccupied with creating his façade that he didn’t notice the two shadows that passed overhead. However, his façade seemed to have worked as he could hear their stomping going all around. A loud scream suddenly ran through the air, and he heard a series of loud bangs but he dared not look lest he gave up his hiding place. Soon his own van was rocked by a strong impact that kicked him in the back. His upward gaze was met back with the downward gaze of a snarling toothy smile.
Alistar quickly ran from behind the van and prepared himself for a potential attack from the second one now that he was back out in the open. However, no attack came. He quickly glanced over at the hospital building thinking he had gone to attack it, but the building was still intact. The other gentleman did not take kindly to being ignored and made his presence well known.
When Alistar’s attention was placed back onto the needy vampire, the red cracked lines in his charcoal arms began to glow brightly and appeared to pulsate. Blood slowly emerged like lava from the fissures and overflowed to coat his entire arm up to his shoulders. It started to expand until it formed enormous claws like that of a bear’s that was planted onto the forearm of a gorilla.
Alistar stood there dumbfounded, he had never seen a vampire’s blood manipulation manifest in the way that this one did. The guy easily cleaved the van behind him with a single swipe, even leaving small slash marks on the ground.
“What the fuck!” Alistar exclaimed.
With the vampire’s arms now being larger, dodging like before was not going to be an option if he had the same speed to easily close the gap between them. Both were locked in a stare off like they were in an old cowboy movie, neither wanting to be the first one to draw. Something had to give, and after a slight ringing of the ears, Alistar felt his balance fail him. He had finally reached his limit and was staggering to keep himself standing. The vampire picked up on this weakness and immediately charged him. Alistar was quickly pinned down with forceful pressure.
“Seems you caught me.” Alistar snidely remarked to the snarling beast, if this was to be his end at least he knew he went out in a way that his parents would be proud of, as for Alexander, his only regret was not going to able to be there for him when he wakes up, “Do your worse, I am a meal that won’t go down easy, so you better keep your eyes only on me.”
Not once did Alistar close his eyes to the situation even as he looked directly into a fang filled mouth. He would not miss a minute, then suddenly an explosion occurred directly next to him and flung the vampire off of him and sent it flying away. The look of confusion on his face spoke for itself with how he felt, who or what just happened?
“I would advise you keep yourself alive a little longer mister happy meal.” A familiar voice said.
