WILLIAM'S POV CONTINUING
Philip slammed his fist on the table. He thought I wasn't aware of what he did and quietly said, "I could have done something worse to you, and you know that. You also know that I can fucking destroy you and Aunt simultaneously."
"I'll go to the police."
"They won't help you if I report your aunt to the Government for not marrying you when you were 17."
He was right. My aunt will be in danger if I don't do what I'm told. He took a ring from his pocket and placed it on the table.
"I wanted to make you mine, and above everything, that time in the car was a lapse in judgment. I like you. This way, I'm marrying you. If I only wanted sex, I would have raped you in that car."
I have no option; either marriage or my aunt will suffer. I can't let that happen. I wiped my tears off and said, "If I marry you? You'll leave my aunt alone, right?"
"I will not only leave her alone but take care of her however I can."
I took the ring out of the box and wore it. Philip asked, "Do you like it? We can buy the one you like better if you want a different ring."
"No, I like emeralds. It's beautiful."
"I guess we're officially engaged now."
"You'll have to resign from the office, and your new card will come tomorrow, so you won't have to worry about the money."
"Thank you, Philip."
"Look, William, and I deeply apologize for What I did or said. My anger got the best of me. You're the only one in my mind day and night, and I have realized that I want to spend my life with you and only you. This may sound cheeky to you but give me a chance to make up for you, and If I fail, I'll try my whole life," rationalizing his situation.
"I'll say yes to this marriage; I'll do everything you ask of me, and in exchange, you'll leave my aunt alone."
"I'll leave her alone."
The waiter returned with food, and it sat idle as we both didn't feel like doing anything after this. I was engaged, but I wasn't happy. I'll do anything for my aunt, even if it means giving away my life.
Philip pushed the steak towards me and said, "This is my favorite food. You didn't even know, yet you ordered it for."
I was shocked to hear this. He continued:
"I'll give you myself for you to forgive me. I'll spend my whole life making up for that mistake. I'll take you out daily to get to know each other better before our wedding."
"I think we should go now."
He looked sad as I said something horrible.
He nodded in agreement, looked at his phone as it was buzzing continuously, and said, "My father talked to your aunt, and she said she'll answer after consulting you."
"Don't worry; I'll say yes."
"We should go now; you must talk to your aunt."
On the car ride, I took out my makeup powder and set my makeup to get rid of the tear stains on my face.
"You don't need makeup."
Philip said, eying me through my reflection in his window.
"I need to get rid of the stains, or people will assume something happened to me."
"I'm sorry, William."
"Stop saying I'm sorry. I'm not ready to forgive you."
"Do you like the ring?"
"I said I like it."
"Ok, but you can ask me if you want to buy a new one; I'll go with you."
I looked at the ring, and it was beautiful. I've liked emeralds and diamonds as they align with my star.
I wondered what his father said to my aunt on the ride to my home.
As I was getting out, Philip asked me:
"William, can I kiss you?"
I didn't know what to tell him, but after seeing him angry and our future, I reluctantly said, "Yes."
He moved closer to me and cupped my face with his hand. My heart was racing as Philip moved closer. I closed my eyes, and our lips touched. The sensation of pheromones was too much to suppress. Our pheromones merged, and the hotness in me was rising.
I quivered under Philip as he continued to embrace my lips. We finally let go of each other, and I left without saying anything.
I rushed home and got in, but I couldn't believe what had happened. A little kiss ignited something more in me that I didn't know.
My aunt saw me breathing heavily in the lounge and asked, "William, are you alright? Are you feeling well?"
"No, I'm alright; I was just catching my breath."
"Ok, go one get fresh; we have to talk."
I knew what the talk was about and just got that over with.
"I already said yes to Philip. He proposed this morning."
"Are you sure you want to marry? I'll handle anything if you don't like him."
"He's a gentleman; just say yes to his father."
"Ok, I'll call Mr. Harald in the evening to tell him your answer."
"Ok, I'm gonna go freshen up."
After freshening up, I sat beside my aunt in front of the TV and showed her my hand.
She gasped and said, "Did he bend down on his knees?"
"Yes, he did," I said, chugging the bitter truth about my engagement.
"It's beautiful. We'll have to start planning the wedding after deciding the date."
"From our side, it'll be only a few relatives and friends, but I think Philip will need to announce the engagement in the papers first."
"Yeah, you're right. However, we need to discuss something before doing something."
"What is it?" I asked my aunt.
"Your Parents..." Before she could finish her sentence. I said:
"They made their choice, they didn't want anything to do with me, and I don't want them in my life. They are sponges and will suck the living hell out of this situation."
"Ok, why don't I invite your uncle and cousins?"
"Yeah, invite my uncle. He's my only father figure and the only one who punched my father so hard his teeth fell out."
My aunt laughed and said, "Yeah, that was funny."
To be continued...
