Chapter 7 Raw
Rahel got soaked while going back home. As always, her mother was drinking and crying in the kitchen, alone. Rahel overlooked her and went straight into her bedroom to get some clean clothes. After a long day, all she wanted to do was take a hot bath. She held the lamb head in her arms and plunged into the hot water.
“I’m sorry, sweetie, that I didn't notice you were home. Don’t worry, mommy is making dinner now. How would you like your lamb today?” asked her mother behind the bathroom door.
“Raw…” Said Rahel.
Soon, another familiar sound stung in Rahel’s head though the water. The sound of her father’s demands and complaints. He was back from work.
Rahel got out of the water and got dressed. She pulled off the bathtub plug to drain the water. Nothing remained, but a pale lamb skull.
Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any wool?
Yes, sir, yes, sir, three bags full
One for the master and one for the dame
One for the little boy who lives down the lane
