"So, Lievpad, wanna come?" asked Paula, as the three stepped out of the classroom, and walked up the stairs.
"Um. I think this might be kind of irrational. Not that I don't want it, I was just taught that stealing is bad." responded Lievpad.
"See? Even he has some morals," added Juablo.
"Eh?" Lievpad looked at him.
"Okay, I understand!" she snapped her fingers. "Thanks for listening, then! I'll give you some of that wax if I do find it!" she sped up the stairs.
"Irresponsible, don't you think Amigo?" asked Juablo. "What if it doesn't even exist? Why is she searching for a thesis?"
Lievpad looked at his hand again. "She was confident about it."
"Well, I didn't expect her to actually go there for real," added Juablo.
The students made it back to their dorms.
It was a moment of silence. Everyone was doing something calm, and no one suspected anything.
"Wow!" Juablo looked around. "Even the righty Ben fell asleep! It's good that we, Lievpad, always sleep well at night!" he raised his finger.
Lievpad was leaning against the wall, snoozing.
"Nevermind." Juablo put down the comic the two were reading together. He stood up, walked towards a table and took a chocolate cookie out of the box. He started eating it.
All of a sudden, a loud noise could be heard, resembling an alarm. Everyone in the dorm quickly woke up, in a slight panic, running out to the patio area.
The four saw the other students from the other classes, all nervous and feared.
"What the hell is going on?" yelled Rico, running up to Juablo.
"I don't know... I was just eating a cookie and then..."
The noise stopped.
Mari suddenly burst through the door to the patio area. "Stay here where you are, all of you!" he raised his voice. "Someone... something entered the school building and is roaming the halls." he breathed in and out, fastly.
People started chatting.
"Something..?" Lievpad asked.
"Humans aren't the only creatures to have Singularities in this world, after all," Ben added, rubbing his head. "And I had such a cool dream!" he put his hand on his head.
"Huh?" Rico looked at him.
"But... it was kinda embarrassing too." Ben looked away.
Mari walked up to the five, as the other A-1 students joined. "Don't panic, none of you. It's best to remain calm in such situations." he closed his eyes.
"Mari, what... happened?" asked Juablo.
"Our cameras reported a strange thing just walking around the basement area. That whole thing is like a maze..." Mari squinted his eyes. "I ask all of you to sit in this dorm, while we and Milagro go check this out, potentially neutralizing the subject. If that doesn't work, SYSTA and Elemento will need to get involved."
Lievpad looked up.
"We'll take care of this." Mari turned, determined, running towards the door.
Class A-1 found themselves in the small dorm, which usually had a place for only four people.
Ben was sitting with a smile on his bed, with Rico next to him, reading a book. "Haha! I will have to clean this dorm when all of you leave!" added Ben.
"We're not causing too much of a fuss, right?" asked Leira.
All of a sudden, Chogi started jumping up and down on Juablo's bed. "Wewewew!"
"NO! GET DOWN!" added Juablo.
"Lievpad, I don't mean to be rude, by why are you still in your uniform?" asked Marta. "Classes are over, and we shouldn't get these dirty!"
"You're right, I forgot." Lievpad walked into the toilet.
"Even though all of us are in this room, we aren't really talking, are we?" thought Juablo. "Well, what am I expecting? We can't become such good Amigos in such a short time. Besides, the atmosphere is tense with what we just heard." he put his hands together, standing up. "Wait, all of us?" he spoke.
"Hm?" Ben looked at him.
"There are only 8 people in this room. Two are missing."
Ben stood up too, panicked. "Rico, Lievpad, Leira..." he muttered to himself. "Paula and Nivel are missing!"
"Wait, who is Nivel-" spoke Rejire.
Lievpad stepped out of the toilet, wearing a green T-shirt.
"If they're somewhere around the school, it means that they're in danger!" Ben raised his voice.
"I mean, the teachers said that they would take care of this, didn't they? I wouldn't doubt their words.' continued Leira.
Lievpad looked at his palm.
"A permanent strength boost."
He clenched his fist. "How could I ever become stronger?" he asked. "We need to save her."
"No, Lievpad. We aren't supposed to leave this area." Juablo stepped closer.
Lievpad turned to the door, opening it.
"The teachers will take care of everything," added Leira.
"What if it was too late? Wherever Paula is, she may be out of their range. If I can't save one person, could I ever call myself strong?" Lievpad stated.
"Lievpad..." Juablo muttered, stepping closer.
"I'm going," said Lievpad, before turning around and running out of the dorm.
"Wait, damn it!" Juablo chased after him.
"And... they're gone." Leira lay on a bed, as Marta laughed.
"You know, after getting to know these two for a while, they're kind of already inseparable," stated Ben. "Once one goes, you can't stop the other."
Chogi jumped on the bed, as Leira was indirectly pushed off by the impact.
Mari, Fabio and Daruma were walking through the basement halls.
"Are we going through the same corridor? Who the hell designed this school?" asked Fabio.
"We're near the maintenance tunnels, and if we head any deeper we might find ourselves near the caves," said Mari. "Milagro went to his right from the northern entrance, and to answer your other question, Fabio. SYSTA is responsible for all of this. Hell knows why it's such a labyrinth."
"At least the light shines through some of these windows," Fabio added, looking to his right. "It's kind of romantic, only us two in this darkness-"
All of a sudden, Mari stopped, grabbing Daruma's hand and placing him in front of Fabio.
"Oh yeah, Daruma's here too. You should speak more." Fabio stated as Daruma looked at Mari.
Lievpad and Juablo ran down the stairs through the entrance nearest to the dorms (western).
"Wait, wait Lievpad!" Juablo stopped. "Why are we running, precisely?" he breathed in and out. Lievpad shrugged.
"From what I saw for a glimpse, all of the entrances lead directly to a big room to the middle and left from the south. However, getting there might be a doozy." Lievpad stated as the two walked forwards, slowly.
"It's so dark..." Juablo put his finger up, as its fingertip lit on fire.
"We'll eventually find something."
"Wait, are you planning on heading straight at that monster?"
"How are we supposed to save her otherwise?"
"Yeah, you have a point," responded Juablo. "Jeez, why did it have to be the buttsting of all people?"
The two walked more, as Juablo got more nervous. They passed a storage room, and then turned, finding themselves in front of a metal fence, blocking the way.
"Oops," Juablo added.
"We'll have to find another way." Lievpad turned around.
All of a sudden, a loud roar could be heard, echoing through the basement.
"Eek!" Juablo jumped up.
"There it is!" added Lievpad, turning around again, looking forwards intensely. "If I can't save one person..." he thought of the same words. He quickly took the last plaster that was on his face, and extended his arms forwards, running.
"Lievpad, no!" yelled Juablo.
"Elipse..." the ball slid down his shoulder, as he moved his hand up, gracefully, before pointing forwards. The orb rolled down, going through the gate and destroying it. Smoke came out of Lievpad's forearm.
"Let's go!" Lievpad grabbed Juablo's hand, as they ran forwards, despite Juablo's fear.
"Calm, Calm," Paula repeated, sitting on one of the seats. The monster groaned, slowly approaching her. "You're not Calm, are you? Calm was cuter..." her voice shook, as a sweat drop rolled down her face. The creature moved its face closer to her, before opening its mouth and yelling.
"Gaah!" Paula screamed in fear.
All of a sudden, a sound resembling a firework could be heard, and a flash of red was visible for half a second. The creature turned its head, as Lievpad and Juablo ran out of the corridor, breathing heavily.
The monster now stood on two legs, looking at them from above.
"Lievpad! Juablo!" Paula raised her voice.
Lievpad and Juablo looked up at the monster. Juablo made a noise, indicating that he was scared.
Lievpad suddenly moved his hands up, as the ball rolled from his shoulder, and shot up, piercing through the creature's face, and bouncing off the ceiling. However, with one swift move, Lievpad fell over, avoiding any additional damage. The monster yelled in pain.
"Lievpad, damn it!" Juablo moved him away. "D-Don't-" he slowly looked up, as the damaged creature began falling his way. "AAAH!" he yelled, as the two dragons appeared from behind, attacking its head. The fire one went through, but the water one floated above the top.
"Hm!" Paula moved her leg, as she jumped down from the seats. The moonlight shone into the circular room they were in. She put one hand on her foot. In a moment, it turned into pure liquid, before solidifying again, creating impact, which let her bounce upwards.
She spun in the air, as her hand reached the water dragon. At that moment, it completely turned into ice, freezing the creature's brain. "Juablo! Now!"
Juablo nodded, albeit still a bit scared. The fire dragon moved back, going through the creature again, as its body began pulsating.
Lievpad stood up again, ready to strike, but at that moment, someone grabbed his hands, not allowing him to make a move.
"Lievpad, don't use it!" Mari raised his voice, putting the other hand on his shoulder. Fabio and Daruma ran in from behind.
"Holy- it's huge!" Fabio pointed.
The creature suddenly collapsed to the ground, not showing any signs of life.
Blood soaked the floor beneath it.
"I think I told you to stay in your dorms!" Mari raised his voice, as the three turned around.
"But nothing happened-"
"Something could've happened!" Mari added. "We don't even know what we were dealing with here."
"Nah, Mari. I think the fact that these three students managed to kill such a huge creature like this is really impressive." Fabio said. "Good job, guys!" he smiled.
"DON'T MOTIVATE THEM!" Mari raised his voice.
"Well..." Paula spoke. "I think it's mostly my fault that they're here. Lievpad thought about what I said earlier. I doubt Juablo did, but..."
"EH?!" Juablo raised his voice.
"Hm..." Mari looked away. "You problem kids..."
"I don't want them to get in trouble because of me, so-" Paula added.
"Why would we punish you for solving a problem like this?" asked Mari, smirking. "Now come on, you three. Go back to the dorms."
All three of them nodded, as the teachers started analyzing the creature. Milagro came after a while, with an SYSTA clean-up squad.
Lievpad, Juablo and Paula walked through one of the halls.
Someone with a hat was following them from a distance.
