"Wow..." Rico looked up. "Lievpad essentially froze in the air..." he noted.
"Why doesn't the red hair freak get it himself, huh?" Neil yelled.
"He's not a freak, you're just dumb," Lievpad added.
"You dare call me that? Someone like you?!" Neil continued.
"No. People don't need authority to call out obvious bullshit." Lievpad stated. "Last chance. Give that hat back to him or I'll just get it myself."
"You're way too confident, just because you flew up without falling!" Neil put the hat on his head. "Breck will get whatever Breck wants!" he smirked, as he flew forwards, at high speeds.
Lievpad pulled the rope, following him. The two swooped through the air, quickly changing directions, but they didn't fall or even budge.
"Hm!" Neil threw the hat to his right, as Lievpad immediately turned his sharp eyes towards it. He swiftly turned, dashing forwards, kneeling, as he descended.
All of a sudden, Neil's Emboard hit Lievpad's causing him to lose his balance for a moment. He tripped, falling over, but he put both of his hands on the Emboard again, hanging from its side.
"LIEVPAD!" Juablo yelled. "Amigo, it's not worth it!"
Neil caught the hat again. "Whaddya think, poorie?" he giggled. "Not only poor with money but lacking in crucial skills."
"I won't... let someone like you overtake me..." Lievpad muttered, squinting his eyes, as he flipped his body, landing again and kicking Neil with his leg.
He and his Emboard moved back, with the hat still in his hand.
"Not even close-" Neil spoke, as all of a sudden, something, or someone rather cut through the air in an instance. "Huh? HUH?!" The hat disappeared from his hands.
Someone else caught it. Marta jumped down from her Emboard, holding the piece of clothing, before putting it on Juablo's head. He was a bit shocked. "Heh! Don't worry, Lievpad! I got it!" she added, waving.
"Damn it!" Neil stomped, descending. Lievpad looked at Marta, before doing the same. "Who does she think she is, interrupting our duel?" he started walking away. "God... this school is filled with these poor idiots," he added.
"I could've caught that," Lievpad said, stepping towards them.
"Don't worry, Lievpad! It's not a big deal! If he was about to hurt you just because of something like this, then it wasn't fair from the beginning. A good duel is one where two forces are on the same level!" she raised her finger.
"Fu..." Lievpad breathed out. "Alright, then."
"Thank you, Marta, Lievpad." Juablo bowed. "You're the greatest Amigos out there!"
"Is that hat really this important?" asked Paula.
"Well, it's my dad's... he already got mad that I borrowed it, and if I were to lose it, it would've been even worse." Juablo scratched his chin. "Thanks..."
"Lievpad, you're really good with those Emboards!" Marta put her hand on his shoulders. "Are you planning to join the Emboard tournament? I think you'd do just great!" she smiled. "It's all about the sporty spirit!"
Lievpad looked at her, then at Leira, who stood further away, shaking her head, trying to tell him something.
"I think Leira wants to speak to you," he stated bluntly.
"No..! Idiot..." Leira raised her voice.
"Huh?! You wanna join too?" Marta's eyes lit up, as she turned to Leira, who started running away. "Come on! I know you can do it! We'll start with only three laps around the school!" she ran after her, closing her eyes.
"Lievpad..! Damn it!" Leira thought. "Can you catch any of those social cues?!"
"That was really... something." a boy spoke, pointing. "She's... a rocket... space, and then... she would..." the boy looked down. "Um..." he glanced over at the girl next to him. "Freunda... I..." he added, bluntly, before he stopped speaking, pulling her blazer's sleeve.
There was an awkward silence for some time.
"I'll join too," Freunda responded.
On some other day.
Paula and Lievpad were walking through the halls. "Where the hell are the English classes?" she raised her voice.
"Um. I think they're on the 3rd floor," added Lievpad.
"Huh?" she stopped, turning to him. "It's not possible."
"Why not?"
"It's just not possible."
"Why not, you... huh?" he looked confused.
"Anyways... why would it be on the 3rd floor if Fabio so often showed up near Mari's class?" she asked.
"Well, dedication can carry you a long way. Even one that is flights of stairs, which take about 10 minutes to get up on, and 5 to descend."
"10 minutes? Oh, we'll be late for sure!" she shook her head. "J'ai de gros ennuis!" she raised her voice, grabbing Lievpad's hand, as the two sped up.
All of a sudden, the ground started shaking, with a semi-loud noise surrounding the two. Paula immediately stopped.
"An earthquake?" asked Lievpad.
"No..." Paula responded. "Most of the earthquakes in Argentina are of higher magnitudes. This is... something at school." Lievpad looked at her, as she ground her teeth, a bit scared. "They're... hiding something."
"I think we already know-"
"Not what I meant, Lievpad! Something... something even bigger!" she looked at him, as Lievpad's eyes shrunk. Her mouth twitched. "Hey, Lievpad. Don't you think we should really find what the hell this is all about?" she grinned.
"You're smiling, but you're kind of nervous," Lievpad added. "So am I."
"Glad you told me, Lievpad, I really can't tell." she continued. "Okay! This is very interesting, but we can't waste time! We need to get on Fabio's good side after all!" she started marching, as Lievpad turned his head.
For a moment, he noticed a figure, peeking from a corner.
"Wait for a moment," said Lievpad, before running forwards. "Eh?" Paula was confused.
"Someone was listening to us." thought Lievpad. "I don't think this is much of a secret, but..." he turned the corner, but no one was there. He breathed in and out. "What... the hell?"
In English class.
"Ah! I'm late!" Ben said, walking in. "Oh, the teacher isn't here yet?"
Paula moved closer to Lievpad for a moment. "Was it Ben?"
"I would've definitely known if it was him," stated Lievpad. "He's the tallest in this school, has a unique posture, and wouldn't act that way."
"Well..." whispered Paula. "No human shows who they really are in front of everyone."
"But why are you suspecting Ben? Why would he have to do anything with this?" asked Lievpad.
"You never know what the other person might hide."
"Do you hide anything?" continued Lievpad.
"I hope the two of you are aware that I can hear everything," stated Juablo, looking at them.
"SHUT UP!" Paula yelled, slamming him with her notebook.
"YOU'RE NOT EVEN WHISPERING, PAULA! YOU'RE SPEAKING WITH A MUFFLED, LOUD VOICE!" Juablo screeched, before putting his face closer. "Besides, I can't act like I didn't see anything back in March. You know, that monster." he closed his eyes, putting his head on his hand. "Don't leave me out, Amigo."
"Yeah, I get that Juablo, I wouldn't want to miss out on an opportunity like this, too!" Paula smirked.
Fabio walked into the classroom, with a bright smile on his face. "Good morning, children," he said, in a nice, English accent. He closed his eyes and just stood there for a moment. "Ah..." he sat down near the desk. "I couldn't wait for this lesson with Class A-1! Mari's students! I hope you'll show me how great you are, just like he told me!"
"You know, I'm starting to think you might be my favourite class," Fabio added, smiling from cheek to cheek.
"Only 15 minutes have passed," Rico added.
"And in those 15 minutes not only did you show me that you're all... okay at English! You also indicated basic respect and acted mannered!" he put his hands together. "Ah!"
"Please don't tell me you're only saying that because we're Mari's class..." Leira stated.
Suddenly, Mari swung the door open, angered. "Fabio! You have some explaining to do!" he raised his voice, stepping in. "Oh, hi." he waved to his class, as everyone waved back. "BACK TO YOU!" he pointed.
"Heh." Fabio looked at him.
Mari suddenly grabbed him by his earlobe, dragging him out of the classroom. "WAIT! WAIT! I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF CLASS, AND IT'S NOT EVEN MY BIRTHDAY!" the door closed as if it was a curtain falling after an amazing performance.
"I'm starting to doubt this school's ability to... school," Juablo added.
The two quickly found themselves in Mari's room, somewhere near the students' dormitories.
"What is this?" Mari pointed to the box of chocolates on his bed.
"I left you a gift. You know, as a lover would." Fabio said.
"Grnghh..." Mari made a strange noise. "Didn't we agree on something else?!"
"It was subtle! Did you at least eat the chocolates?" he ran up to the box, opening it.
"Yes, they were pretty good. But I left the ones with peanuts, I'm allergic to those." Mari said. "Take notes if you're gonna ever do this again. I hope not."
"Mari, at least tell me that I have a chance-" Fabio turned, as Mari was holding a bazooka in his hands.
"Is it real? Is it a prop? Do you want to find out?" Mari grinned. "Clearly cruel."
"You know, fine. Let's just take this to Milagro, like last time!" Fabio raised his finger.
Fabio and Mari were now in Milagro's office, as Milagro put his hand over his eyes. "What happened this time?" he asked, tired.
"Fabio left me a box of chocolates in my room." Mari continued.
"Hey! We agreed that we could be subtle!"
"I don't even love you!" yelled Mari.
"Why do I have to be the mediator in this marriage-like relationship?" asked Milagro, as his voice shook. "You're not even with each other." he breathed out.
"This can't keep going on." Mari shook his head.
"What did we agree upon last time?" asked Milagro, sighing. "Fabio, you're not supposed to leave your class to see Mari. Do it only at times when you're not teaching anything."
"Huh?" Mari raised his voice. "You're changing the rules."
"Mari, he's not doing anything to harm you. He's a hopeless romantic, but a harmless one."
"Except for trying to poison me..." he muttered.
"That was a misunderstanding..! And an accident..." Fabio looked away.
Milagro started moving his pen around on the paper. "You're teachers, you should know better. If each encounter you two had has led to a quarrel, you should limit-" his eyes widened. "Actually... wouldn't it be even better if I gave you even more time with each other?" he smiled lightly, as he sped up the pen scratching, waving his other hand around, fastly.
