CHAPTER 12
Silvi stared at the alpha who stopped her from going back to her family. Then she glanced to his hand gripping almost tightly on her wrist, sending another wave of foreign delightful electricity.
She tried getting off his grip, but he just tightened his.
“Alpha…if you may.” Silvi plead politely.
“My name is Kallean.”
She rolled her eyes and breathed harshly. “Fine. Kallean… now will you please let me go?”
“No.”
‘What’s with him and his stubbornness?’
“A-alpha…” The currently trembling guard probably gathered up all his guts just to say that. “U-uh…”
Alpha Kallean sighed and when she thought that he’ll finally let go of her, she definitely thought wrong because the next thing she knew, she was being dragged by Kallean towards the corridors until they reached the lobby of the mansion.
The guard followed behind him like an obedient guy he was, panting hard after his Alpha’s large strides.
Silvi was then stunned to see a number of people and wolves lying unconscious on the ground. ‘Unconscious? Wait…are they still alive?’ She can’t tell. Her heart suddenly drummed in a second until one of the unconscious men groaned in pain.
“They’re alive, don’t worry.” Kallean answered as if he just read her mind.
She breathed, relieved. Thank goondness.
“Silvi!”
She turned to the person who called her name. Her eyes shone in delight when she saw Antares in the middle of the mess with Sir Calber by his side.
“Antares! Sir Calber!” She sprinted towards them but she forgot that this stupid alpha is still holding her wrist. She was pulled back. Damn it!
“Let go, Kallean.” She said, unashamed of using informal speech towards.
The alpha completely neglected her and turned his attention to the trembling guard who disrupted them earlier in their wrangle.
“Report.” He said with authority. The guard stood up straight with proper posture and remained dignified as he can.
“U-uhm.” He swallowed. The bump on his throat moving upwards because of rigidity. “T-they…*ehem* The…uh… those two werewolves were forcing themselves inside the mansion. They said that they are certain that someone named Silvi was here. All the guards and available knights attacked them, but they were all knocked down to the ground, Sir.” The guard finished explaining and was able to breathe out.
‘They fought all of these people?’ She thought. She wanted to applaud her family, but she can’t. Damn this stupid alpha.
She tried to forcefully remove her arm again, but he refused to let her go. ‘What’s wrong with this man?’
She heard the alpha *tsk* in disappointment and said. “Such weaklings. They need more training.” Then he turned to Sir CAlber and Antares. “What do you want?”
Sir Calber answered. “With all due respect, Alpha Kallean, we just want our Silvi back. Nothing else.”
“No.” The alpha replied monotonously and firmly.
She shot a glare towards him. ‘What did he just say? What on earth is going on?’ She can’t understand what this Alpha really wants. Why is he going to these lengths just to have her as his cook?
Sir Calber and Antares both have shocked look in their faces. Then Antares asked, “What are you talking about Alpha? What do you want with her?”
There was silence for a few seconds. Until she couldn’t take it and answered in the Alpha’s place. “He said that he wants me to cook for him.”
“What?!” Antares asked in disbelief with brows scrunched up.
She shrugged. “I don’t understand it either.” Then he showed her his cuff-like grip. “See, he doesn’t want to let go of me.”
Remaining confused, Sir Calber turned to the Alpha. “Alpha Kallean wh---.” But Sir Calber’s words were halted upon seeing Kallean’s expression.
She has no idea what just happened but Sir Calber slowly shook his head in rage of utter incredulity.
“That can’t be…” Sir Calber whispered all of a sudden.
Silvi, who can’t understand what’s happening, tried to read the situation and find out what was going on that made Sir Calber’s expression like that. However, she remained unsuccessful of discovering it.
Antares looked at his dad trying to also find for an answer. “Dad wha---.” But then, he followed where Sir Calber’s stares were focused and also saw the answer, which she still remained clue less. And as of now, she’s feeling stupid because she’s the only one who doesn’t have an idea what was going on.
“What’s wrong Sir Calber?” She asked him, but Sir Calber didn’t respond. His raging eyes were still locked unto the Alpha’s. She turned to Antares for the same question, but he had the same expression as Sir CAlber. She wanted to know what was happening to them.
“I don’t like the way your eyes are looking at me, Mr. Polar.” Kallean said.
“Let go of her Alpha Kallean.” Sir Calber whispered in his gritted teeth. “I’m not letting you have my daughter.”
Kallean portrayed a sly smirk on his lips. “She’s not really your daughter, is she? I think I have more rights to claim her than you have.”
‘What are they talking about?’
But then, an equivalent expression with Kallean showed on Sir Calber’s face, removing the previous expression of the Alpha which turned stoic and confused.
“We’ll see when she discovers it Alpha.” Then Sir CAlber turned to her. “Silvi.” Sir Calber called her.
“Yeah?”
“What would you do if you were mated to an Alpha?”
‘Huh? Why would he suddenly bring that weird question in the middle of an awkward situation?’ It seemed very odd to her.
“You already know the answer to that question Sir Calber.”
“Just answer it Silvi.” Antares ordered.
She rolled her eyes at him. She answered nonetheless. “Duh…Have him reject me instantly.” So she wouldn’t go to that same pain of being rejected because she assumed too much. She’s not fit to be a Luna, end of discussion.
Silvi felt the Alpha’s grip on her hand tightened. She glanced at him. He was gritting his teeth in anger for some reason. What made him mad this time?
“See Alpha? Now return her to us. We don’t want things to get complicated.” Antares said, extending out his hand.
She really wanted to go back to her family now. But why is this damn Alpha so damn stubborn?
“Why…would you ask for a rejection?” Kallean ask her slowly in a low growl.
She sighed. ‘When is this gonna end?’ “Why t else? To end things earlier, without developing any emotions for each other. Let’s face it, bonds are just for werewolves. They’re not meant for humans like me. I’m not suitable to any kind of wolf in general.” The moon goddess probably made a mistake when she was being paired with an alpha before.
“You really believe that?” Alpha Kallean asked.
She sighed. “Yes, I do.” ‘It’s been established inside me for a long time now. That I’m not meant to have a werewolf mate.’ “Now, will you please let go of me?”
She saw Kallean’s jaw clench even tighter. His grip on her was cautious. He was letting go and also gripping her hand alternately, like he was hesitating to let go.
He would release her hand for a few second, then changes his mind and grab her hand back again.
Like what on earth is even happening right now?! Is this man okay?
“I already said that I’m not cooking for you. Look here Alpha---.”
“Kallean.”
She sighed. “Kallean… You can just find other cooks to cook for you. I’ll even teach them or give them the recipe if you really want to have the same taste as my cooking.”
Kallean’s face returned into his expressionless countenance earlier. And at last, he lets go of her hand.
She thanked him and rubbed her hand. Thankfully, the delicious electric feeling earlier was gone now.
She ran to Sir Calber and Antares and hugged them both. Hmm…even though she’s used of not seeing them for more than a day, it’s always great when she’s with her family.
Antares pats her head like a kid and smiled at her. “Let’s go home, okay Silvi?”
She nodded. Then she turned to Alpha Kallean who seemed defeated for some reason. She waved her good riddance to him. “Bye Alpha Kallean.” ‘I hope we never see each other again.’ She’s really hoping that. No matter how much badly she wants to be with Dark. Being with Kallean brought uncanny emotions to her. And she doesn’t want to identify those further.
She’s had enough with Alphas.
She’s just happy she can finally return to her family. She thought that she was really going to be stuck in the mansion as his cook, because that’s never going to happen.
She began to imagine the events for the rest of the day now that she’s back with her family. But those thoughts were halted upon seeing the man which she thought she’ll never encounter for the rest of her life.
The man in front of her had the same surprised expression on his face. Dark hair and silver eyes. The same silver eyes that once made her feel that she’ll ever be just the useless human that she is. The same eyes that made her realize that she’ll never be fit to be a luna.
Then, a memory from years ago came and flashed into her mind.
“I, Alpha Greg Craig of Shadow Heart pack, hereby reject Silvi Eon Mayne, as my mate and Luna of this pack.”
