A sickness that starts in the hands

Charlotte thought about those words for a very long time, so much so that when she was asleep, she couldn’t dream a nice dream. She kept having nightmares of things of the past as well as the day she died.  

Every time she would wake, the room felt small and Dark. When she died, she had a car accident while she was walking with her sister.  They were at an outdoor mall, walking around. She had an appointment for a maternity photoshoot later in the day at a shop there. She was having fun looking around and eating random mall food. 

When they were walking on the outer side of the mall, a car lost control and was heading their way, and despite being six months pregnant, she pushed her sister out of the way. She was trapped between the car and the wall. She was awake and in pain. She thought she would be okay, but she was screaming at herself for being so reckless. It was the look on the EMT's face that told her she was going to die the minute they moved the car(Bloodloss). So she bid goodbye to her sister. Whos been trying to get to her but was being stopped by the EMT.  

 “HEY, Tuffina (TU-FE-NA), Make sure mom doesn’t get the kids. OH! And I love you.

Next thing she knew, she was In the arms of her mother, the queen.

                                      A sickness that starts in the hands!

If it’s what she thinks it is. Then it's not something that can be cured with the medications that they created it's not a bacteria or a virus It's a magic-based disease. In this world, almost everyone has some form of magic, even if they can’t use it, like wizards or witches.  In the human body, there are 6  points that store the magic. One in the head, one in both hands, one in the abdomen, and one in both feet. They are all connected like a nervous system. 

Because of this reason, a magical disease would always start with the hands since that is the point at which most people make contact. It’s also a painful and agonizing thing that attacks every part of your body as it moves to the next point. It can’t be cured. The only thing you could hope is that you go fast.

The kicker is that no one has had to deal with this disease in over a million years. She's only ever read it in books that she taken from the mage tower.  In most books, It is mostly considered to be a myth that the gods use to cast upon those they deem despicable.  In one she read, it stated that it was a gift given to a lord in order to get revenge on a king who broke his promise and the people that turned their back on him. ( she really liked that story )

It also doesn’t help that earlier in the day, she got a message from the god of this world that told her: “ Oh dear child…I regret to inform you that you will not be able to tell anyone what is to come…but you can prepare for it since that is the purpose you were chosen…You can also not use the power I have given you for it since It was given to you in a time of need…….. And the ones that are currently chosen have to endure what I will put them through, Including that one you spoke to…This is what the universe wants.

How could he tell her such a thing when he knows all she wants to do is help, It's a test, And it's going to kill her. This is getting to be too much, and she feels tired, but she can’t just sit on this. Not wanting to be in her room, she went to the grandfather clock in her room and push a button on the side. A hole then opened on the floor near buy. It was a staircase that led down, but it was hard to see where since it was pitch, Black. She followed it until she reached a hallway that seemed to go on forever. She didn’t follow the hallway but instead sat on the stairs and tried to sleep sitting. She eventually did fall asleep, and someone must have found her since she found herself back in her bed in the morning.
