As the sun began to set over the city, Noah held Christan's hand tightly as they walked down the busy street towards the LGBTQ+ community center. They had both been nervous all day, knowing that tonight was the night they would be coming out to their families at a support group. Noah had known he wasn't straight for years but had only recently found the courage to accept himself and come out to a few close friends. Christan and Him had a similar journey, and they had found solace and support in each other. As they entered the building, they were greeted by friendly faces and welcoming smiles. The group facilitator introduced them and gave them the floor to share their stories. Noah and Christan bravely spoke about their experiences and what had led them to this point. As they spoke, they could feel the weight of the secrets they had been carrying for years slowly lifting. They were met with acceptance and understanding, and it felt like a weight had been lifted from their shoulders. After the meeting ended, they both felt a renewed sense of hope and strength. They knew that the road ahead wouldn't be easy, but they also knew that they had support and a community to lean on. As they walked back out into the cool night air, Christan turned to him and said, "I'm so proud of us. It takes a lot of courage to be who we are, and to share that with others. But I know we can do it." Noah smiled, feeling a sense of belonging that he had never felt before. He knew that they still had a long journey ahead of them, but for the first time, he felt like they weren't alone. Together, they walked off into the night, ready to face whatever challenge lay ahead of them.
