16: Grey
Grey talked to two people that day. The first man he met it happened very early in the day while Grey was still doing chores and small amount of work, he was still a little peppy. People came in a out and overall it worked out fine. Then someone new came in. A around 30 year old man stepped in and as soon as he laid eyes on Grey a little 'ah' came out of his mouth and he walked in closer to him with a awkward smile on his face. "Morning fella. Are you Gregory Kingsley?" Grey, the so called Gregory Kingsley paused thinking, then finally resigned and simply said. "Present." "Excellent. Okay so, can you and me talk a second? It's about where your currently living?" Grey frowned and rubbed the back of his neck. "I was told to not answer these questions on the clock. And besides..." He looked out the window, and in the parking lot there was indeed someone new filling up gas. "I'm a little busy. Is it argent?" The man smiled a little awkwardly and put his hands into his pockets. "It is argent, but it can wait for today I assume. I'm Dustin Dwayne I used to work with the police force here." Grey raised a eyebrow but didn't say anything just nodded, this Dustin nodded too, brought a candy bar then ended the talk and left. Grey hummed a little then let that little talk just run around in his head.
The second one happened near him leaving work. Grey was mumbled throughout the day, this was normally the point when no one came in here and he was there for the 'just in case' someone did indeed come. Grey tapped his fingers on the countertop over and over again, his feet moving around himself wishing he had a few more better chores to get done to keep the time better. He wondered what Millie was reading right that moment or what the baby looked like that point, was he waiting on a son or a daughter? He hoped it was a son, someone to love and moreover to prove himself on. Then a figure catch his eyes and Grey sharply turned his head over to the sight, then the darkness was there and moving closer. It was not a strange tall man, no when it opened the door and a ringing noise came to him he saw Moore. It wasn't stumbling but he was weak looking in the legs, maybe a few drinks, and when he got closer to him he smelt a little too. He smiled grimly and slow and slammed his hands onto the countertop with a sick smile. "Gregory! I've been looking for you." Moore frowned again and Grey followed. "Grey, what do you need?" "You've gotten bigger eh? A lot." Grey suddenly remembered how his boss didn't want Moore around. "What do you need?" "Ha! I came to tell you something, got a minute? It's about you dad." Grey now remembered again what his boss said about Moore, the kinds of things he did. "What?" Grey said more ferm. "You know how he died right?" There was a long quite still pause, then Grey finally numely said "No." "I seen him almost die before, he didn't have a heart attack or starved to death- ah there's even a rumor he killed himself." Moore moved in closer to the counter, as close as he could. "The swamp, the air the spirit killed him. Did they tell you that at all?" Grey frowned. "It stopped his heart! You know you live there now, and you did when Doug lived there. I saw it happen a few times?" "You saw what?" Grey frowned suddenly feeling like he was 15 all over again. Moore reached out quickly and grabbed a_hold of Grey's shoulder and leaned in closer to his face. "What it di-" Grey moved away from Moore but Moore just frowned and went on looking a little like his plans where ruined. "This is what it did, okay? I seen it before I don't know how he fraught it off before. It would slowly fall off onto the ground and grab at his chest, it was slowing his heart, one time while this was happening he said it, or as he called it something was calling to him. It tried to kill him by slowing his heart, I think something wanted to take him. That's why his body was found in a locked room, he wanted to be left alone! He died because it stopped his heart! I know I-" "Get the Hell out of here!" Grey stood up quickly. "Get out!" Grey jumped over the counter and while Moore jumped away faster then it looked like he could do. "Get out!" Grey grabbed Moore by the collar and started walking him out but Moore moved out of his grip and ran out the door. Grey stood by the front of the store on the outside. "Don't go near my house anymore!" Once Moore ran off far away with a frog like look on his face he said. "I practically lived there! You can't demand I-" "Dad is dead jackass! Never come back!" Grey stood and watched as the fat man ran off.
