Kuro got home from the dance. He went to Alfred to tell him about it, but not before he put a bag of to-go boxes on the table. "And Tsukasa's sending Chad, Taiga's ex, after me," he grinned. He showed her the picture of the guy.
"Uhhh, Kuro... That guy's a veteran. He poured his heart and soul into the sport." He raised his eyebrow. "How do you think you could beat him?"
"Likely could. I might not be able to, but eh..." He changed the subject. "What'd you eat for dinner?"
"As you can see, I ordered pizza." He showed him a box from Pizza-La, a Japanese pizza chain. "Squid and jalapeño pizza should be a top seller! I'd give you some, but it has a mayonnaise sauce on it. What'd you eat?"
"Ramen and karaage chicken. I also tore into 3 Jezebels. You familiar with the Pfäffer family, correct?"
"I am, actually. I know their father. He's the owner of a German restaurant chain here. He makes the best currywurst! Did his daughters give you any gup?"
"Not me, but they did berate a guy who was doing his job at Ramen Hut. I jumped in to save him, and he gave me free stuff! While I was walking home, he stopped me and gave some appetizers. Want any calamari? Edamame? I don't eat edamame." He continued rumaging through the bag. "I see he also has kimchi, gyōza, some more karaage chicken, some tempura shrimp... He also made some tonkatsu sandwiches without mayonnaise. You sure you don't want any of this?"
"I'll take that kimchi off your hands. I could make a kimchi omelet tomorrow."
He hands him the pickled cabbage. "Never been a kimchi fan, to be frank. My friend Kyushi like kimchi though. Speaking of Kyushi, he and Kamarudeen are waiting for me on chat!" He took the bag of apps and went to his room.
He cut on his PS5 and went to chat. "Guys?" he typed. "I don't think I could sleep."
Kamarudeen guessed, "Chad guy? That picece of shit living rent-free in your head or something? Take some knockout drops -- you'll be fine."
"Kinda... Mr. Al said he could probably put me in a coma. The thought of that's making me feel uneasy..."
Kyushi typed, "Guess it's time to go through a training montage. Or something... When push comes to shove, you could probably sue his family. They do make big bank off of Game Freak."
Kuro picked up some chicken and dipped it in tonkatsu sauce. He then puts it in his mouth and chews ravenously. "I can't even eat right!" he typed, adding crying emojis. "Fuck me..." he added.
"Since when did you become emotional?" Kamarudeen raised his eyebrow. "Kyushi's telling you: Training montage. Plus, even then, you may not win all your fights. Look at Israel Adesanya. His first lost in MMA was to Jan Błachowicz. Izzy's boring, but that's besides the point."
Kuro cracked open a sakura Pepsi. he bought 3 of them from the dance. He slurped one like he forgot his table manners.
"You can always opt out," Kyushi suggested "but knowing you, you never walk away from a foe. You should get lifting and practicing."
Kuro typed back, "Maybe I should. I'm gonna do that now. Good night!"
They replied back with, "See you Monday." "Night!" Kuro closed his black HP laptop and started to practice his striking on his burgundy punching bag.
