Some time ago, Dongfang Qingcang faced a critical moment in battle where releasing his most powerful technique, Hellfire, had failed him. He experienced a sharp pain in his chest simultaneously, leaving him uncertain whether the pain caused the failure or if the loss of his energy resulted in pain. Nevertheless, he managed to defeat the enemy army without relying on it.

When Qingcang opened his dreamy brown eyes, he discovered he was no longer on the battlefield. Instead, he found himself surrounded by darkness, illuminated only by stars and the aurora borealis. The absence of floors and walls made him realize he was in an endless void, far removed from Cangyan Sea and alone in this mysterious space. "Could it be...?" he whispered, unsure how he got there or what awaited him. All he knew was that he was trapped and needed to comprehend this strange new world.
Floating in the emptiness, Qingcang noticed a vibrant cord connected to his heart space. His eyes turned cold as he reached out with his right hand and cautiously touched it. Electricity surged from the cord as his fingers grazed it, causing his mouth to open slightly in response to this bizarre phenomenon. The cord proved unbreakable and held significant power, resisting his attempts to remove it. He noticed that the cord moved, indicating the presence of its creator nearby.
Qingcang scanned the area, searching for signs of someone who might have attached the cord to him, until something vague in the distance caught his eye. His voice, deep and commanding, demanded attention as he spoke with a sense of certainty, "Show yourself. I know you're here." He felt no fear in confronting whoever had brought him to this unknown place.
Amidst the stillness, the vague object nearing him appeared to be a figure, yet displaying no signs of movement.
It was a girl.
As Qingcang floated in the dim light, his focus became fixed on the blurred figure of the girl. Straining his eyes, he tried to discern her features more clearly and make out her silhouette, but it remained unclear. Only her face was visible amidst the uncertainty, and she appeared no older than him. Mixed thoughts swirled in his mind as he observed her, unsure of their future. But one thing was unmistakable—he could not part from her and sensed a profound connection with her as if the cord linking their hearts was the source.
Qingcang concluded, 'She's human.' He had a strong hate for humans, even more so than fairies. The mysterious girl remained suspended in the air, locked in his gaze. His deep, menacing voice sliced through the silence. "Who are you?" he demanded, his tone icy and devoid of emotion, the sound reverberating through the dark void.
The girl offered no response, her closed eyes showing no sign of acknowledging Qingcang's presence. Growing frustrated by her silence, he adopted a more forceful tone. "Tell me, or else..." he threatened, his voice monotone and dripping with menace, leaving the girl's fate uncertain.
A breathtaking blue light emanated from her chest, bathing their surroundings in a brilliant glow. The mesmerizing, deep, and vibrant blue hue possessed an ethereal quality. Within the luminance, iridescent sparkles danced and shimmered like many tiny stars.
As Qingcang witnessed the breathtaking display, his stern expression softened, captivated by the radiant spectacle. He understood that he was seeing the girl's true essence—the core of her being, often called a soul or spiritual essence. 'That looks like my primordial spirit... But why is it inside her?' he contemplated.
Qingcang's gaze shifted downward to his chest, where a surge of electrifying energy pulsed through him. With each inch the girl floated closer, their connected cords crackled with intensified lightning. It felt like a heavy burden had been lifted from his chest, replaced by a tingling surge of power. Blue-colored energy emanated from within his core, mirroring the essence of the girl. Their primordial spirits reached out to each other through the heart cord that bound them.
Without warning, a burst of energy enveloped Qingcang and the young lady. Flames tinged with a vibrant pinkish-red hue swirled and flickered around them, crackling in the air.
Struggling against an invisible force that held him in place, Qingcang's mind raced with questions. 'Is this Hellfire?' he pondered. He remained immobile despite his efforts to break free, trapped by an unseen power that rooted him in place. A frown formed on his face as realization dawned upon him. 'No, this is not Hellfire,' he thought, his scowl deepening.
Frustration consumed Qingcang as the flames continued to rage. The girl remained unresponsive to his menacing tone, lost in a trance-like state, her face lacking any recognition.
"What... have... you... done?" Qingcang uttered maliciously, his deep and sinister voice betraying his longing to clench his fists, if only his body would obey. He carefully studied her face, realizing she was in a trance. 'She can't hear me,' he concluded, his thoughts echoing within.
Their primordial spirits joined in a fiery embrace, drawn together like magnets by an unexplainable force. Qingcang felt himself being pulled towards the center of their shared connection, unable to resist the powerful current of destiny that bound them. The flames danced around them, casting an intense illumination and amplifying his sense of urgency. They were eternally intertwined, for better or worse.
Lina, the girl, twitched her eyes ever so slightly, and Qingcang swiftly noticed the subtle movement. "You're awake," he stated in a cold and emotionless tone. His deep voice sent shivers down her spine as he impatiently awaited her response.
"Ugh..." Lina groaned, her eyes slowly opening. She locked gazes with the attractive young man before her, his sharp features gradually coming into focus. She noticed the curve of Qingcang's lips and the intensity of his menacing gaze. 'Damn, he's hot... No, wait! I LIKE SOMEONE ELSE!' she pondered, her heart racing. 'But how can a man be this beautiful? Am I dead? Is he an angel?' Trying to regain her senses, she stammered, "W-who are you?"
Qingcang's cold gaze was fixed on Lina, analyzing her odd behavior. "This pitiful mortal," he muttered in response.
'NEVER MIND!' Lina screamed internally, annoyed at the arrogant man before her. Startled out of her trance, she trembled, overwhelmed by the euphoric, burning sensation that filled her heart. 'This place...' she wondered. A mixture of confusion and intrigue coursed through her. "Where am I?" she asked, attempting to create some distance between them as they were too close for comfort. 'Wait, what?' her thoughts raced as she hastily averted her gaze, unable to move her body. "I'm floating!" she exclaimed, shocked by the revelation.
Qingcang rolled his eyes, staring at Lina's quivering face, growing increasingly frustrated with her exaggerated reaction to a trivial matter. "You wouldn't be so scared of floating if you knew of the deadlier threat right in front of y—"
"Ahhh!" Lina shrieked, cutting off Qingcang's sentence.
Qingcang gritted his teeth, the sound of Lina's outburst intensifying his irritation. He could not believe he was stuck with such an annoying and helpless human.
'Wait! This can't be real... YES, it's a dream!' Lina thought, making sense of the situation until it dawned on her. 'Oh no... I like Yichen! SO, WHY AM I DREAMING ABOUT ANOTHER MAN?' she screamed internally.
Qingcang's countenance transformed, revealing a play of expressions—cold detachment, curious interest, and serene calm. He maintained his silence, leaving Lina to ponder the enigma before her.
Lina's attention shifted to the cord connecting them. "What have you done to me?"
As Lina's questions took on a confrontational tone, Qingcang finally responded with a sneer, "You dare to speak to me in such a manner?"
Lina scoffed arrogantly. 'Alright! I should knock some sense into this rude man!' she thought, enraged. Caught off guard, confused, and unaware of the danger she was facing, the bold girl summoned her self-respect. "Excuse me? Are you dictating how I should speak to you? Who do you think you are, the king of the world? Should I roll out the red carpet?"
"Shut up," Qingcang growled, his deep voice dripping with menace, "or I'll kill you."
'Hah! I'll show him! I can have some fun with Pretty Eyes until I wake up,' Lina contemplated. She simply rolled her eyes, dismissing Qingcang's threat with a touch of sarcasm, "Oh please, I've heard scarier things on the subway during rush hour. Are you going to kill me with your pretty face?"
Unfamiliar with the concept of a subway, Qingcang felt his anger surge as he realized Lina was foolishly mocking him based on her tone. He brought his face closer to hers, towering over her, and snarled, "You have no idea who you're dealing with."
Unfazed by Qingcang's menacing demeanor, Lina stood her ground, her resolve unyielding. "Yeah, yeah. You have no idea who you're dealing with, either. Your tough guy act doesn't impress me, and I'm not afraid of you. If you lay a hand on me, you will be sorry!"
Qingcang's expression darkened as Lina's words struck a nerve. Accustomed to instilling fear and commanding respect, he found himself faced with a girl who showed neither fear nor admiration. He had never encountered someone quite like her, and for the first time in his life, he felt taken aback by someone unfazed by his presence.
Qingcang longed to snap Lina's neck, but an inexplicable power left him unable to move his body. "Silly Little Human," he spat, his patience wearing thin. "You're the first person audacious enough to threaten me. I'm the strongest being across the three realms, and you would do well to remember that if you value your life."
Lina, however, remained unfazed, responding with biting sarcasm, "Oh, absolutely! Mr. Tough Guy with his pretty eyes. Let's be real here; if we're trapped in this place, I'm not entirely convinced you're the strongest one here. You just talk big."
Qingcang was taken aback by the girl's ignorance and arrogance. For once, he found himself rendered speechless.
Lina figured the so-called strongest man was in the same boat as her. "We need to find a way out of here, but first, could you please give me some space? You're floating too close—"
In an instant, their attention was captivated by the flickering and interacting primordial spirits. A sense of unease washed over Lina, causing her eyes to widen. Her breath grew shallow as their bodies drew closer like a moth to a flame. The once icy coldness in Qingcang's eyes now transformed into a burning curiosity. They found themselves in close proximity, their primordial spirits shining brilliantly in a vibrant blue hue, merging together amidst the intense pinkish-red flames that engulfed them.
Their bodies collided with a force that left Qingcang and Lina clinging to each other, pressed together intimately. They could feel the radiant heat emanating from one another.
